Henman!
His knee gets better and now he's got the flu! :o

Flu floors Henman

Tim Henman has been forced to withdraw from the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam next week after contracting flu.

The British number two has been confined to his bed for most of the week suffering with a temperature and a sore throat, which has left him feeling very frustrated.
“It’s been a rough week so far,” explained Henman, who is yet to play a competitive match in 2007.

“My knee was progressing nicely and I was enjoying myself in practice, and I was just starting to think about competing next week when I started to get a sore throat.

“The next thing I knew I started feeling lousy, my temperature went way up and I was spending most of my time in a cold sweat.

“So I obviously wasn’t able to practice or train and I’ve spent most of the week in bed.

“Hopefully by next week I’ll be over the worst of it but obviously it’s going to be impossible to play in Rotterdam so I’ve had to pull out.

“Frustrating isn’t the word but I’ve just got to accept it, deal with it, and move on. But it’s certainly not the start to the year I was looking for.”

Just hope he doesn't miss any more and comes back in Top 20 form
A WC for Dubai maybe if he's fit?

I was expecting him to withdraw...but not with flu   :help:

Get better / fitter soon Tim...come on!!!

He'd be an idiot not to try playing Dubai...even if he has never done that well there in the past, and will probably draw Federer / Nadal

Henman's that unlucky, he's probably got the H5N1 Avian flu. First known case in England! :) :D

That's gonna hurt - Rotterdam was one of the few early tourneys where he had ranking points - SF points IIRC

What's IIRC?

He lost in R2 last year

My bad - I was thinking of Zagreb and they already came off.

And then he made QF in Dubai, lost to Nadal

IIRC = If I Recall Correctly.

Clearly I didn't :)

At scrabble?

He has the ability to do it (went 8/1 vs 11-20 last year), but I have a horrible feeling that this setback will prevent him from doing it now.

Gimme that fucking racket, Tim, while you are dealing with the flu. I'll beat all these bastards who owe you a win :haha:

Just having a joke, Jez. :) I think he has the ability to get back to top 30, but as you say, he probably won't play enough to do so.

I think Henman's body is telling him the game is up and he's too stubborn to accept it.

Tim can reach the top 20, he doesnt have too many points to defend and the last part of 2006 he was playing some very good tennis.

Nothing ever changes with him
i honestly dont know why he isnt retired.... he's as lazy as fucking ever.
if was pathetic that he didnt play Marseille 'because he wasnt ready' he comes away with shit like that all the time - then comes a flu, a cold, a broken nail to WD from somewhere else.
he is useless and done and has no desire to play anywhere except Wimbledon.
the excuses he makes are unbelievable..
all so adidas can keep paying him his 2mill a year.

You're not ready to desert the Henman rollercoaster ride quite yet, are you Escude?

Corey Feldman
02-17-2007, 02:12 PM
No, i'll probably be cheering him on when we next see him play............. in a Rnd1 defeat at Queens club.

dont fall for it Sjengster... he's at home playing golf, smoking fags and negotiating with Slazenger on how to get an extra 50k a year on his contract.

He'll WD from queens with a sore pinky toe.
'not ready' for tennis until wimbledon.

away puffing the fags in the cupboard where mummy and daddy cant catch him.

Definately get the feeling that the desire to play at the top is slowly deserting him. You can bet he doesn't try to squeeze in a few extra tournies when he is eventually fit enough!!
