ljubicic is the worst he didn't win a grand slam or master series it is very easy to a top 10 player win a international series
but in general the croatian players are similar except goran.... but at the final of his "tennis life"

I think all those threads are worthless:o because if a player is in the top 10 means he's a good player no matter u think someone deserve to be there too if he should be there well why isn't he there  so give the player's of the top 10 a break i don't like some player's there but i have respect for them for what they achieved if reaching such a high rank was so easy i think we wuld know about it a long time ago no ?

James Blake.
I don't even know why the others are on that list.
They have made the semifinals of a slam in the last 9 months.

All of the players in the top 10, have been able to have good results on two of the three primary surfaces on tour (clay, grass, hard courts) except for James Blake.

All of the top 10 has made at least the QF of two different slams except for James Blake.
He's only been able to perform well at the US Open.

I think its funny how everyone automatically assumes Ivan is bad because of his GS performances but with 3 or his current GS points being 1st round exits, I think its remarkable that he is able to still be in the top ten. It means he wins in matches he should win in and that in itself makes him a successful top ten player. He's not like Blake who you never know whats gonna happen or Haas. With Ivan, its pretty easy to know who he will beat and who he will lose to. This consistancy is impressive.

Blake, Robredo, and Ljubicic because they perform poorly in slams. Ljubicic has only ever had two good slam performances. Blake and Robredo have never even made a slam semi. At least Robredo has won a Masters Series event which is more than Blake or Ljubicic can say.

Precisely how can you be worse at something when you're in the very top percentile of best performers? Perhaps the weaker of the bunch but not the worst.

However, I do agree Ivan is rather mentally fragile, how many finals has he lost? Yeah a good 70% of them have been to Federer , but he just tends to fold on the big ocassions aussie '06 comes to mind; and his usually rock solid backhand starts spraying errors like an error infested tennis ball machine spitting balls uncontrollably in the wrong direction. Even his marvelous serve drops in percentage, you can just see him tense up on a tight set that goes to a tiebreak or when he is serving for the set or the match.

Thats BS man... Haas is good but he is so inconsistent throughout the year because he is mentally weak and can lose to randoms.

Kolya is consistent throughout the year therefore he is ranked higher than Haas.

Ljubo winning by a landslide, not that it's surprising.

DeccyB123
02-16-2007, 08:50 AM
Davydenko is Mr Consistent, and always goes deep into GS's and most TMS's, and to say that Haas is way better than him when he beat him 7-5 in the fifth after saving a match point is just stupid. Davy beat him just 6 months ago with a similar scoreline...

Anyway, the poll options are just bad, and just the thread starter's dislikes...

Ljubo winning by a landslide, not that it's surprising.

Not surprising at all, considering poll choices and perfect timing.

If anything is suprising, its the fact that people actually bother participating in this 'poll'.

It is as if someone made a poll 'who's the worst #1 of the Open era', and offered Federer, McEnroe and Roddick as the only 3 choices. And then wondered how one-sided the poll results were.

Still, the thread is funny in its own ridiculous way... :yeah:

Pretty obvious candidates, but just not sure which one is worse....

You don't know how to create a poll. If the question is about the top ten, then don't bias us by making all the choices point to 3 players.

Where is the "someone else" choice?

Jaffas85
02-16-2007, 01:17 PM
I suppose it would have to be James Blake because he has reached as high as #4 yet has never reached a Grand Slam SF and has only reached the Quarters at one of the Grand Slams.

Despite the fact that Roddick may have a brand of "smash and grab tennis" he generally plays at a consistently high quality and with the exception of the French Open always does well at the Slams.

guille&tati4life
02-16-2007, 01:26 PM
Well, Ljubicic has only won at a grand slam against a player in the top 20 once and that was by retirement, so he must have a claim.

They're all good players of course but i'd say Haas is probably the weakest of the 10.
