Sumo-worshiping HAKUHO,Miyabiyama & Tokitenku for the spring's tournament Haru Basho-

I'm worshiping Dejima (who's a maegashira) because he defeated god Asashoryu (who's a yokozuna) producing the big surprise. Here we have it resumed by days,it seems 1 month after all happened, but i prefere to stay in tension and not to check on the results.
My favorite is Kotooshu (like doh :p) who had a spectacular climb up to Ozeki rank. But i also like Baruto,Kokkai and Roho (the "europeans" ). And oh yeah,i'm not into God Asashoryu or his succesor Hakuho.

allero hey, yeha i like ama too. homasho and hakkuho :ras:
Ama is almost the most exciting guy to watch, and moreso than robocop, because he has more skills.:D
Hakuho will be the only guy to get a yusho except for Asa this year, my prediction.:p

Mara_M
02-16-2007, 06:20 PM
probablly,he's like asa,strong and bitchy :p
i like ama too,he's remarcable

allero
02-16-2007, 08:39 PM
Why bitchy?? :o

Mara_M
02-16-2007, 10:13 PM
Eh that attitude of i'm-too-good-for-this-world Asa has too ;)

allero
02-16-2007, 10:28 PM
Those Mongolians are really spicing things up with their attitude, aren't they...:p

On the latest broadcast on eurosport, I had to laugh when the commentator said about Kasugao "And we see a little smile from Kasugao, not something you see the rikishi doing a lot, but Kasugao is from South Korea so he might do it rather than the Japanese.":D

Mara_M
02-16-2007, 10:36 PM
:rolls:
they said it abt Takamisakari that he's a bit breaking the rikishi rules by being so extroverted, because they're not allowed to show their emotions ;)

allero
02-16-2007, 10:54 PM
Then imagine what would apply to Roho after freaking out in the Nagoya Basho. :D Well in the robocop's case the crowd love him, but Roho...

Mara_M
02-17-2007, 12:42 AM
Or to Asa in Hatso 2 years ago :p i guess the japaneese will never forgive him for that :p

allero
02-17-2007, 11:52 AM
What did Asa do then? I wasn't follwing sumo at that time.:o

Mara_M
02-17-2007, 03:55 PM
i don't remember the rikishi he was playing against (but i remember he was japanese) but after Asa got defeated he pulled the opponents hair wich is strictly prohibit and a gesture of total lack of respect. And they say he got him and :boxing:him in the locker room :cuckoo:

allero
02-17-2007, 04:58 PM
Oh so it happens sometimes during a bout that the rikishi pulls his opponent's hair, like Dejima did against someone recently, but to do it after the fight  ..Well, I read, even after the loss to Dejima, Asa didn't bow down either.:o

Mara_M
02-17-2007, 05:00 PM
yeah but everytime Asa is playing Japan they remind us this incident. and it was after the fight, cuz he was pissed

allero
02-17-2007, 05:10 PM
Hakuho behaves better though.:worship:

Mara_M
02-17-2007, 05:46 PM

allero
02-17-2007, 06:00 PM
Well, you better get used to the idea of him winning a lot. ;) And let's not forget he's not somebody to do so much henka unlike Kotooshu.;)

Mara_M
02-17-2007, 08:37 PM
henka:o? what's that? i like kotooshu,at least on dohio .

allero
02-17-2007, 09:04 PM
Henka means side stepping the opponent on the tachi-ai (the initial charge), basically just making a quick move to the side and the opponent goes crashing down. A cheap way to win, but sometimes funny.:D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henka

Kotooshu did it to wonder boy Kisenosato on Day 1 of the Hatsu (I guess you've seen it already;) ). The japanese were not very happy.:o :o

Mara_M
02-17-2007, 09:44 PM
i saw that ;) it legal but considered not a good manner to win ;) i didn't know it by henka tho :) actually i saw him doing this only once or twice, and tanananna,i saw Asa doing it once :p

allero
02-17-2007, 11:11 PM
Didn't Asa do it at the end of the yr against Kisenosato also? Because he was still pissed about losing to him in the previous basho. He's a bit bitchy for sure.

Mara_M
02-17-2007, 11:13 PM
:lol:i don't remember against whom but yeah,i saw him doing it :p

Have you seen the banzuke for the haru basho? Ama is back in sanyaku as eastern komusubi.:bigclap: Hopefully he will deliver. Also, Tochiazuma will be kadoban. He needs to achieve kachikoshi or he'll lose his ozeki rank.

Mara_M
03-01-2007, 10:20 PM
this ozeki rank is tricky, once they get there they slow it down

Ama :bigclap:

Hmm, I think it must have been the now retired Kyokushuzan, I think Asa also once slammed the mirror of his car. At least I remember reading this in some place.
btw: Do you know the results of the Haru Basho or are you waiting for it to be shown on TV?

it's very probable and i can't say i'd mind :p

it was japaneese week on ES2 and i watched old tournaments from 95-96 and review from last years :hearts: akebono ,222 kg,he was like a train  musashymaru was more like asa :p

allero
05-01-2007, 08:57 AM
I haven't got ES2, but sometimes they show much better things there...

Well, Musashimaru was huge too, I have seen some clips of him.
Almost 240 kg at the end of his career.

Mara_M

back then he was just 180 :p anyway they were having much more than the heaviest now :tape:

allero
05-01-2007, 10:18 PM
Yeah, but was it only these two Yokozuna from hawaii or the sekitori in general? The size advantage is huge! :p

Anyway, it seems to have been a great time back then. Great rivalries with these two and Takanohana too.:yeah:
