Thank you for the OP, the matches you're posting
Thanks for all the tennis you're boasting
Who can live without it, I beg in all honesty
Watch Miami
Without tennis on TV what are we, so I say
Thank for you the Op, for posting it to me....

I will root especially for Todd Martin today. I hope he gets that win against Heuberger. Like Todd very much! Go, Todd! :D :worship:

I don't like the fact the Kiefer and Schüttler could meet in the 2nd round. What a crap draw.
Why didn't they put Burgsmüller and Haas also in the same section?

Good luck today for Nicolas Kiefer, Marta Marrero, Todd Martin and Nicolas Escudé
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Where are our excitable Croatian friends? Their man Karlovic is playing. but he just lost the first set to Melzer.

Looks like Ascione is giving Arazi a little trouble too.

what a bunch of weird matches today! 2 matches finished, 2 upsets! And another one seems imminent

TennisLurker
03-24-2004, 03:42 PM
Kucera is a guy who can play like the best tenis player in the world and the worst tennis player in the world within 1 set.

Scores like 61 16 61 are not strange in him.

I think it is possible he may win the next 2 sets.

TennisLurker
03-24-2004, 03:44 PM
Is Bogomolov a big server?

Deboogle!.
03-24-2004, 03:46 PM
Nope not really a big server. Then again I saw him play Andy so in comparison no one would look like a big server ;)

And he just broke again in the second so yea.

TennisLurker
03-24-2004, 03:49 PM
break back Karol!

TennisLurker
03-24-2004, 03:54 PM

Bogomolov/Kucera has started... where's Katherine? :)

Right here :wavey: . Glued to the scoreboard till now it's only Court 8 showing. Is it raining????? Bogie was serving to go up 4-2!!!

Tricky_Forehand
03-24-2004, 04:12 PM
Is Bogomolov a big server?

No, but he's excellent at placement :D

Deboogle!.
03-24-2004, 04:20 PM
Rain was in the forecast for showers off and on all day, I read in the Miami paper. Not unusual for spring in Florida. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a short delay.

Deboogle!.
03-24-2004, 04:21 PM
No, but he's excellent at placement :D

well he's getting well over 80% of his 1st serves in so yea... that's gotta help lol

Deboogle!.
03-24-2004, 04:25 PM
Oops, someone had a little trouble serving out the match :o

Deboogle!.
03-24-2004, 04:27 PM
well looks like he gets a second chance lmao

Deboogle!.
03-24-2004, 04:32 PM

TennisLurker
03-24-2004, 04:38 PM
Kucera won the tie break!!

Deboogle!.
03-24-2004, 04:43 PM
Play has been suspended, due to rain I imagine

Lurker, how do you know, it says 6-3 still?

Looking at the radar for Miami at weather.com it's just a little system hopefully will just move through fast and be ok the rest of the day :)

Deboogle!.
03-24-2004, 04:47 PM
OK Now it's been updated, Kucera won the TB 7-3

good job Alex :o

Looks like play on that court has resumed. They must dry that one off first of the courts that are being used now.

Nymeria
03-24-2004, 04:47 PM

Play has been suspended, due to rain I imagine

Lurker, how do you know, it says 6-3 still?

I think Lurker's just hoping...lol.

I have a feeling that Alex's poor TB so far has a lot to do with him being pissed off at himself. The one DF he has came at 0-15 when he was serving for the match at 5-4. Beating Karol Kucera isn't what it once was but it's still a BIG win for Alex. I think a mix of over confidence and being nervous at the same time got the best of him  . The stats are still decent :) .

Is Escude still tired from his Indian Wells exploits or something? Because no disrespect to Ivanisevic, but he's never been the sort of guy who breaks right out of the blocks...

Tricky_Forehand
03-24-2004, 06:19 PM
Alex :bigcry: :bigcry:

Another match that came down to just a couple of points!! Looking at the stats, Alex should've won! This was HIS match  .

Now I have to find some type of motivation to care about this tournament  . Nicolas K. is still in along with other favorites I care about but just doesn't carry the same excitement

Deboogle!.
03-24-2004, 06:23 PM
Well it's a good experience for him... he knows what he needs to work on - serving for the match. Everyone's choked like that before, so if he takes something from it and it doesn't happen the next time, it's all for the better :)

jtipson
03-24-2004, 06:40 PM
Well done, Robin :) . Looking forward to seeing you taking a bit more off Lleyton this time.

I can't believe Goran is a set and two breaks up on Nicolas Escudé...hang on, make that only one break now. Still might be enough though.

Deboogle!.
03-24-2004, 06:43 PM

I agree with everything you said :) . But I'm still in this damn funk...I'm probably taking this loss harder than he might be  . This loss broke my heart about as much as when he had that full body cramp serving in the 5th against Verkerk at the US OPEN last August.

I didn't even see today's match beyond the scoreboard but I still keep having nightmare flashbacks of seeing those two matchpoints  . Should've stayed 10 feet away from the computer, in the kitchen (where I was when I saw he had matchpoints) :p
