Finally got our ticket upgrade. Our seats the last few years have been good, but we really wanted better. (Of course, if we hadn't been quite so picky about location, we might have been moved sooner.) I know it's still quite a ways out, but we're already planning, booking our hotel and flight and that sort of thing.

I admit it, I'm already excited.

Anyone wants to bunk somewhere??? I'm a college student and can't afford to go by myself but I'm lucky enough to get a media pass because my dad's friend has a dedicated sports program on the radio and I report from the tournament for about 1 minute everyday but they don't pay for anything they only help me with the pass! Anyone willing to do it or has some info on getting a cheap/affordable accomodation? please let me know ASAP and I can give you some info on myself so you don't creep out!

I don't know if you're still looking, but you should check out some of the extended stay hotels. They are MUCH cheaper than a lot of the other hotels in that area. There are a couple within 30 minutes of the tournament site, and having a little kitchen in your hotel room will also help you save money by not having to eat out every meal. Here's a link to a list of nearby hotels. E5 and H6, both in Blue Ash, are the closest to the tournament grounds, just a straight shot down the expressway.

Good luck!

I'm thinking about going to Cincy next year, and it would be my first tennis tournament, so I have a lot of questions. :) If I want to go Wednesday-Sunday, is it best to get the full week package or can you get good seats if you buy single tickets? Is it possible to get seats in the lower bowl or are they always sold out? How does the seating work on the outer courts - are they general admission? I can't even imagine how cool it would be to see all the players up close! I did see the final at Newport one year (Ginepri vs. Melzer), but I've always wanted to experience a whole tournament. I appreciate any tips! :)

i've never had to get tickets, always had a all-access pass, but it seemed to me that you can go watch any outer court with general admission.

Full week packages are sold out now...but I'm sure single-sessions are usually available during the tournament(excpet for probably Saturday/Sunday)...I always by my day session ahead of time and then if I want to buy night session, I've never had any trouble doing it that day.

Lower bowl seats are only for box holders or full session holders, but the upper bowl is connected to the lower and all the seats are good, I've found that during some non-marquee matchups on Centre Court I was able to sit in the lower!!

All the other courts are GA, excpet for a small part of Grandstand...Court 1 is one of the best outside courts in tennis. Cincinnati itself is by far the best fan friendly facility I've been to(I haven't been to European tournaments).

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information! I can't make it this year, but I'm trying to get a head start on planning for next year. :) It sounds like Cincinnati is one of the best places to see a tournament. I'm just going to have to say prayers that all of my favorite players show up next year!

Cincinnati really is one of the best. Too bad you can't make it this year, but you should definitely look into getting the full series package of tickets. Not only is is MUCH cheaper than buying single session tickets, but you get better seats (and parking).

You can find my detailed personal rating of Cincy here: http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?p=3810305#post3810305

I'm going Sunday-Thursday...I usually only go until Wednesday but since they cut it down to a 56-draw, that's the only way to see the top 8 more than once, unless they play doubles. Fed did 2 years ago and Nadal did last year, hopefully one of them will again. Gonzo/Nalbo better play Cincy too.

Does that mean the top seeds are getting a first-round bye? I should be able to figure it out, but I don't do math. Thanks!

Ride/share cab from Cincy airport to Mason on Aug. 13th??

I'm flying into Cincinnati on Monday afternoon ~ 2 PM. On the off chance that anyone is arriving that day and wouldn't mind sharing a cab or giving me a ride if you're renting a car to the Marriott Cincy NE, please PM me. Several rounds at the Marriott bar or tennis center as a thank you. (BTW, I'll have limited internet access next week, but will get back to you before the 13th.)

Thanks!

I the best time at the tournie. I had a lot of cool moments with some players. Nadal was actually in the back yard of the house I stayed at. (on a golf course) he hit his ball in the back yard. Of course I wasn't there at the time though.. but the people we stayed with talked with him.... I almost wet my pants when i heard!!!
