It's based on ranking of last year
Why?

It's not based on ranking of last year, its based on the rankings 42 days before the start of the tournament, which was the second week of the Aus Open.

Any news o Doubles entry lists yet? Any chance Jamie Murray and Eric Butorac will get a doubles WC after winning San Jose and Memphis back to back?Wimbledon is the only ATP-level event with a doubles entry list. All other ATP events & Grand Slams use on-site sign-in for doubles entry. (Wimbledon even used this procedure in 2006 with a few adjustments.)
Here's an interview with Butorac about his team's chance of making the cut:

Ancic faces long illness lay-off
Ancic has struggled for form all season
World number 11 Mario Ancic faces two months on the sidelines after being diagnosed with glandular fever.
The Croatian has a mild case of the illness but seems certain to miss the Masters Series events in Miami and Indian Wells.
But he is expected to recover in time to play at the French Open, which gets under way at Roland Garros on 27 May.
Ancic has only won four matches this year, the last coming at the Australian Open where he reached the last 16.
no but if he cant win on clay he doesnt stand a chance on hardcourt...

Is seeding based on ranking when draw done? For all tournaments? (eg. crazy for Misha to be seeded #25.)
Fee
03-03-2007, 09:24 PM
Yes, the seeds are based on the most current rankings at the time the draw is made, which in this case will be the rankings list published on Monday March 5th (as noted in the first post of this thread with all of the other fact sheet info). The entry list is just that, an entry list.

Misha is ranked #17 but thanks to Ancic's withdrawal, he'll be the 16th seed, which makes a big difference. :p
