Hmm, I wonder if this means that Martina is going to officially retire :( She will be missed. I hated her for most of her career and now that I'm finally appreciative of her, she's leaving.

Oh, well. Another Swiss will advance in her place, I suppose. It will be interesting to see how that pans out.

GO DAV!!

i've never seen Myriam play but based on her results she seems to be really talented. she won her first singles title last year and i know she has a win over Justine Henin also. they've already been calling Casanova the "Next Swiss Miss" now that Martina is.. well who knows what's up with Marti now. could definitely be a future top tenner. :)

Both Lindsay and Juju playing with the second serve, and both taking really good advantage of that to command the receiving points. Weird match so far. There are two good things in this match:
Lindsay´s amazing angles creation :hearts:

You know, I think Layla is Juanqui's good luck charm. He hasn't played this well for the whole tourney (though came close against Lisnard ;)), and Layla hasn't been here to cheer him on, either.

So from one lucky charm to another, GREAT JOB! :D

Oh Davey! CMON!
Juju´s second serve is short and slow. Linds is not using it as she should.
I´m glad her attitude is a lot better though, and she finally stopped falling back on her fhs. Although she is still too rooted to the floor.

HOLD NOW! :)

who would you guys rather have Juanqui face next? Wayne or Sargis?

Vera
01-19-2003, 03:26 AM
Wayne exchanged breaks with Sarg. I want Wayne to get thru. Cos I think it's better for Juanqui to play Wayne. A nobody can be very unpredictable.

01-19-2003, 03:26 AM
Yikes, lindsay mishit an overhead

TennisHack
01-19-2003, 03:26 AM
Not to get ahead of ourselves, but apparently Wayne has never beaten Sargis  so if that pattern holds, Juanqui has a great chance to make the semis :D

But one match at a time, that's my motto. :)

Wayne is a better opponent to Ferrero because of his head-caseness. I saw Sargis beating Pou, and he is tough.
And a Ferreira-Ferrero match will be good for people to finally figure it out they spell Juanqui´s name wrong MANY times. :p

TennisHack
01-19-2003, 03:29 AM

Hi Maly! :wavey:
