My pic is from a Chinese web site. It's very difficult to get to the pics if you don't know Chinese. I will try to get all those pics and post it here.

BTW, after Rogi's win over Juanqai, he get lots of attention from the media there and they described him as a very talented and handsome young man. :D

Ugh, it's things like that that make me want to see Jiri keep on winng (but he's in Ferrero's group, so I'm not *really* hoping that;))

Patty Mac also apparently called Ferrero a "manufactured hitter"? Does he practice being a biased ass, or does it just come naturally?

i saw some of that Ferrero-Federer match today (espn had extra time after Jiri crushed Agassi :D). PMac gave no credit to Ferrero, even after he hit a winner. his comments were really pissing me off. :fiery:

Hola! :wavey:

Just a quick hello before I go to the movies. :D I'm going to see Road to Perdition and I hope I won't be disappointed.

Two shocking results today, one of which I'm happy about (Agassi going down to Novak) and the other... I'm definitely not.

Way to go Jiri! :bounce: That was a fabulous victory. PMac is a jerk :fiery: and an imbecil. They should fire his sorry ass. :p

So let's just hope Juanqui can take out Agassi as well.

I sort of expected Moya to beat Hewitt. It was a very exciting and entertaining match! But I'm not sure whether to be happy or upset. I love the fact that Moya is doing so well, but desperately want Lleyton to finish the year as number 1.

Ok, gotta go now. My mom is waiting for me. I'll read your posts when I get back. ;)

Have fun! :wavey:

:) AA better lose all his matches!! Doesn't Rogi now play AA next?? How does this RR thing work anyway?

Also, they always defend AA -- do I ever hear them say that's it's about time he and Pete retired? Never -- well, not AA anyway. I hope his time is well and truly up -- this week!! Both Macs are totally biased! I want a new point of view out there -- and sometimes these guys just blab on and on -- it's distracting and annoying.

Before every tourney, AA says how fit and well he's playing, blah, blah, blah... :p Well, if he is, I'm happy he's losing!!

But I do feel sorry for Marat!! He's back down again -- looks depressed -- not good for DC!! As for Lleyton -- well, he's struggled -- he won one and lost one... I go for Moya in the Red Group.

And for the Gold Group? Let's just say Juanqui and Rogi MUST get to the Semis and anything can happen after that! ;)

This happened in the annual Fox Hollow marathon dance. Lorelai can't find a partner and she recruited Rory as her partner. Dean ended up watching from the standing. After a few hours, Jess show up with his blondie and Rory and Jess can't stop staring at each other and whenever Rory was staring, Jess kissed his blondie and of course when Rory was not looking, he ignore her. Jess and Rory had some heated exchange during a sandwich break. Whenever Jess tried to pull Dean into the exchange, Dean told him to save his effort. At the last hour, Lorelai shoe's heel broke and had Dean hold onto Rory so she could fix the heel and stayed in the marathon. Rory and Jess start the sparring again and finally, Dean took Rory's hands off him and said she no longer has a boyfriend. Dean said EVERYONE knew Rory and Jess are hot at each other and he was an idiot that try to hang onto the relationship so he is out now.

The whole eppy is very dramatic and unfortunately, I am not very good at telling a story.

Hi everyone:wavey: anyone still around?

Anyway. I felt much better now. I wonder if that got anything to do with a certain ppl losing a certain match:D

Yay, Jiri. I'm glad that I've never disgarded him (except when he almost pushed Moya out of TMC in Madrid). But, why, if he played the final in Madrid, he would have saved the tourney from disgrace. Oh, well. He made up more than that in this match.:D And guess what, AA win less games than Juanqui:D He will lose if a TB is ever needed.

It never occur to me that Juanqui will beat Jiri easiest. I think Jiri is a good hardcourt player so I don't doubt his ability to play on the concrete. So now, I hope the sorta unexpected result will boost Juanqui's confident (and C'mon, Costa beat Marat, anything can happen).

Oh, I'm very sad that Marat lost. He looked like he's gonna cry in the pic. Don't be discouraged, Marat, you can right everything by winning DC.

And Carlos. I know he can beat everyone in his group. Though, I selfishly also not hope that Moya will past Juanqui to be the Spain #1. But as long as Juanqui can get into the semi, other things are not important. Pls, Carlos and Albert, go cheer for Juanqui, make him strong to beat AA tomorrow.

Vera
11-13-2002, 07:47 PM
I prayed to not have to watch any AA match at the beginning of the tourney. But now, I'm hoping that they will show Jiri's match in our taped broadcast. I so hope to see how PMac managed to talk about it when AA made him swallow his tongue:D Okay, that's a little gross. But you know what I mean.;)

Lee
11-13-2002, 07:49 PM
Just finished watching Moya-Hewitt match. What a match! Moya is playing excellently. He was up 40-0 at the last game and on the third match point, Hewitt return was going out of bound but Moya hit an overhead and was OUT!!! It should be devastating for most players but Moya fought back I think a couple break point afterward and win the match on his 5th match point.

Chloe le Bopper
11-13-2002, 07:49 PM
I also was hoping Moya would not win more matches than ferrero, for that very reason ;)

If Costa beats Moya btw - Hewitt goes home :o Costa in the semis :o It could happen :)

If Ferrero could win his next two matches and all three of them made it that would be fabulous ;) But we'll see - I fear Jiri :D

Marat definitely has a very big problem now. He didn't even try to break any racket during his lost, that showed how emotionless he is right now. It seems he is so tired he already looking for rests before his DC matches. Hopefully about 10 days rest is enough for him.

Vera
11-13-2002, 07:56 PM
Hi Becca and Lee:wavey:

3 Spaniards in the semi, that would be perfect. That would eat PMac alive:D But I seriously doubt that Albert can do that. Maybe it would be easier to hope that Marat can beat Lleyton tomorrow, so Albert can win the TB.

If I have to pick a winner, I'll have to go with Carlos now bcos of his form. So I will be satisfied with JC making the semi.

3 Spaniards in Top 10, JC maintains his ranking in Top 5, that's enough to make it very very very happy. :D

Ya, that really concerned me. If he breaks the racket, at least he's still in the game and getting mad. If he don't even bother, then he's so discouraged that he's probably indifference to it. Pls, Marat, just looked into your memory to see how good it feels to beat Lleyton in Paris and gets some motivation.

Chloe le Bopper
11-13-2002, 08:00 PM
In order for JC to stay in the top 5, he has to do better than either Roger or Moya.

Other wise he is number 6 - assuming Jiri doesn't make the final, and Ferrero doesn't win more than 2 matches.

I think that is how it is anyhow.

Hi Vera! :wavey:

I just saw another thread in General about Hewitt telling Moya & Costa not to fix the game by Costa winning the match between them so both can be in the semi. I am not sure whether this is exactly what Hewitt said but if that is the case, he is a very lousy loser.

Come on Marat, take him out!

Vera

Bye Becca:wavey:

I saw that thread title too. I didn't bother to go read that. It's a shame if Lleyton really say that. I hope he didn't, bcos I like Lleyton, and I always thought he is not a bad person though he sometimes say stupid thing in inappropiate time. The spaniards are all good friends, they are also very good sportsmen, I don't think they will even considered that. I mean, Carlos probably has too much respect for his friend Albert to even consider giving him a handicap. But that's really bad now, bcos if Albert wins tomorrow, imagine what ppl gonna say.

Lee

That's what JMac says every time he saw Zhenya, I bet he asks Zhenya why every time he met him outside the court :p But I can stand that, at least, he respects Zhenya and knows that Zhenya is a better player who has a lot of bad days on court bcos of the reason he kept mentioning. :) Hi guys!

Re: Rogi being "flirtatious" I think it's because these Chinese women are so taken by him, his personality, his looks, his luscious eyes, that they imagine he's flirting with them!!! He's just a friendly guy! He's not really naughty [how would we know? only Mirka knows for sure!! lucky girl!]. ;)

What about Juanqui? He's unattached -- was he flirty too?

LOL, probably. And Zhenya would probably give him a smart-ass answer to his question :D

I bet Zhenya would make a good commentator!

PattyMac is so American-biased and pro-Roddick it's laughable. I think the only reason people listen to him is because he's John's brother and was an okay doubles player in his time (and is the US Davis Cup captain, though that would make me even more suspicious of his pro-American bias). Cliffy just seems to humor him.

Zhenya, a commentator, well, I guess it would be in Russian, so Hackie, you of course would love it.:D

Ya, I hate the combo of PMac and Mal. Mal is kissing butts. He only repeating whatever points PMac has. But at least Mal did acknowledged Juanqui's winners:rolleyes: He probably don't want a complete silent after JC's winner, since PMac didn't say a thing every time:rolleyes:

No new name for this thread?? What about sth like:

KING JUAN CARLOS

or

VAMOS JUANQUI! [because we always say that to him]

I don't know...

Poor, poor Marat!!!

I hope Rogi and Juanqui realize how tricky Novak can be... so what ever happened to his groin thing?? All better now??!! How convenient! :p

The VIP boxs (seat 8) in TMC are sold for US$21,600 a day.

The nice thing that the organizer did is there are student tickets everyday at a much much lower price although there are only 500 tickets each day.

I have no idea, I think that's why there was the speculation about their having parted ways. Plus, he was so down in the early part of the year, and we all know how hard breakups can be, especially when relationships are so important when you're basically homeless for most of the year . . . you need your roots.

If you can find something definitive, it would be a great help :) Why did you think he was unattached?

Hi everyone! :wavey:

I'm back from the movies. Road to Perdition is a beautiful movie about fathers and sons. I enjoyed it very much. :) The cinematography was wonderful, every shot was just picture perfect. The pace was a bit slow but that doesn't bother me in movies that are either deep, emotinally intense or have a great story. And the story was in the vein of Shakespearean tragedies. I mostly agree with that review TH posted a while back. Thumbs up! http://www.smilies.org/basesmilies/yaisse.gif

Errr, I miss our Mad Max thread. :( The new title doesn't really feel like home Becca (especially since it's virtually titleless). ;)

I'm glad Juanqui's match is not first up, because I want to sleep a bit longer tomorrow. :) I will be much more devastated if Juanqui loses to Agassi again than when he lost to Rogi, so he simply MUST win. :D Agassi will be too depressed anyway. ;) But like I said, my dream of watching Juanqui play in Shanghai has come true. :)

Did I mention how much enjoyed the match between Moya and Hewitt? Moya is really a joy to watch these days. :D

How is everyone?

:) Well, only because he never seemed to be with anyone -- at tournaments [Esther was at Roma and Hamburg in 01 -- they showed her], plus I never read anything about her in the Spanish news at all. They had pix of her w him in 2000-2001, esp. at DC final, plus I saw a pic of them in his car going to the Sierra Nevada in the S Spain for training once.

That's why! If I find stuff, I'd be happy to inform you all!

Really? Hmm . . . of course, I didn't start caring about his personal life until a few months after I decided he was indeed my favorite player, so I guess I can't comment as they had been together for awhile when I came to that conclusion.

Of course, it doesn't help to have pics like the DC one, where he looks like a deer in headlights, either ;)

Right, I agree with you. I just noticed Becca's post in the other thread about how we shouldn't criticize his women. Oooops! :o :p ;) So is it time to start worrying?

I remember the horrible things some girls said about her on Arriba Ferrero, even claiming to know her personally. LMAO. I didn't mean to sound like them. ;) Merely forming a quick gut opinion like I do on anyone I see for the first time. It doesn't involve any thinking on my part. ;)

Unless we start criticizing ourselves, I think we're okay. After all, this is just one girlfriend of many. WE'RE the only women in his life ;)

As far as Arriba Ferrero goes, well . . . you just have to take it with a grain of salt, whatever you read out there. I never saw that, so how could I have compared you? I've personally never seen anything but good things about her, so was surprised when you said she seemed fake to you. That's all :)

BTW, Hackie, I think you ask who we think is best commentator. I think you mean existing one, right? I prefer Jimbo and the guy who was with JMac in USO. I don't remember his name but he's a baseball guy, I think. Maybe that, since he doesn't really criticize players so much. Oh, but last time I mentioned liking Jimbo as a commentator in here, someone sent me a gift, Jimbo's topless piccies, which gives Layla nightmare:D So maybe I shouldn't mention him again.

But, oh well. For one thing, Jimbo don't discount claycourter (since he won RG) and he's surprisingly objective. I remembered him calling Roddick an actor in USO, which is kinda daring, since he may offend PMac:p and so it's hard to believe that Jimbo wrote poem of Roddick:eek: and it's not the kind of Andy poem we wrote:D

Well, I meant, who would be your dream commentator/team? Real people, of course :)

I agree, I really like Jim Courier as a commentator. Was it Ernie Johnson during the US Open? He's not too bad, MUCH better than Marv Albert (gag) during Wimbledon. I almost had a heart attack when I heard Marv's gravelly voice last year, trying to talk about tennis.

But I like Jim, and I wish he & JohnnyMac would call some matches together, I bet that'd be interesting :)

Vera
11-14-2002, 12:45 AM
Right, I think it's Johnson, well, I'm not sure. But definitely not Marv. What the hell does he know anything about tennis. Makes me wonder why he came to comment on a tennis match, was it bcos he was banned from the NBA bcos of whatever happened few years back?

Anyway, I remembered in Wimby 2000 and 2001, we had coverage of SF with Pat playing Agassi. There's the same match on NBC in a delayed time and TSN showed BBC live early. I used to wake up early to watch the BBC match bcos their commentators are so quiet, they don't really talk much during the match. And their comments were definitely more objective since they have no preference. Then when the match is over and Pat won, i taped the NBC match to see how JMac pinched himself when AA leads the match and blowed up at the end, it was great fun. :D

Vera
11-14-2002, 12:47 AM
BTW, that Andy match I watched in USO, it was JMac and Jimbo commenting together and they were both hinting (quite explicitly) about Andy's acting job on the court. I wonder what PMac thought about that.

As far as Arriba Ferrero goes, well . . . you just have to take it with a grain of salt, whatever you read out there. I never saw that, so how could I have compared you? I've personally never seen anything but good things about her, so was surprised when you said she seemed fake to you. That's all :)

Hehe, I like the way you think. ;)

I didn't mean that YOU were comparing me to them, I was doing it myself. :o A little self-evaluation. ;) I've never heard anything but praise either, but it's all coming from people who don't know anything about her, so it's just as "credible" (or rather INcredible) as my gut feeling. Not that it matters anyway. She's probably a wonderful girl. :) My gut evaluations have been known to be wrong. But not often.

Im sorry, but I can hardly talk. This team is almost half of my life. :(
We had soooooo many fucking chances, and we blew every single fucking one of them.
The crowd was AMAZING. No boos, all night long, having to put up with some NUTBALLS playing VERY BAD.
Now they are VERY upset, but can someone blame them???
Im sorry, I know this subject has nothing to do with this thread or even this board, but my passion is just too big, and I need to vent. As I cant talk, I can at least write.
I mean, I have like 20 shirts of this team, the badge is on my car window, the plate of my car has the initial letters of the team. Half my clothes are red, my fave color is red. I own three chair seats in the stadium. I put up with my gf being mad with me to go to the stadium to cheer on them. Its probably one of the 3 or 4 things that can make me TRULY sad and actually cry.
Oh my f****** God, even my cell phone ring is the team anthem.
Im a freak for them, and there are THOUSANDS just like me, as passionate and nuts as me, and we NEVER get what we deserve for being so loyal.
This is deeply sadening.
I guess my whole week, or maybe my whole month, is fucked up now. And if we indeed fall to the unnamed division, probably my next year and half will be HELL. :(
Oh God, please!

Yes, I meant the reaction from the readers. Until then, we hadn't really used something so near and dear to his heart (although I did notice that Corretja's wife conveniently disappeared ;)) in the story. I mean, coaches are pretty close too, but they were used more for comic relief than melodrama.

We need to win the next match, on the road, and four out of five matches have to work our way.

Hey, miracle does happen. I really mean it. Last year, half way thru the season, my team was only winning 1 out of 4 games. I thought there's no way in hell they can make the playoff since they have to win 2/3 of the remaining games. And out of the blue with absolutely no reason, they started winning, and they were almost unbeatable after that. I think the turning point is that they were losing so very badly and were totally embarrassed and they got them finally slap out of it.

So, maybe this lost is a blessing in disguise. That gives them greater motivation afterwards to do the unthinkable, who knows. Just got to think positive.

QUESTION: You seemed to be rushed throughout towards the end of the match, especially towards the last two points. Before the applause subsided, you serve. Is it because you want to finish off the match and leave?

ANDRE AGASSI: It felt like I had a better chance of winning the point if Novak was distracted.

Argh! GM is not the friendliest of places. :( First the unnecessary Lleyton bashing, than that Kimmy remark, not to mention sushi.

On a brighter side, I just saw a brief interview with Juanqui and he didn't seem to be down. He said: "It's the same situation I had last year. Then I lost my first match to Kafelnikov but in the end I managed to qualify for the semifinals. Hopefully I can repeat that. That's what I'll be working for." :) VAMOS JUANQUI!

Yeah, I can't believe that girl had the gall to insult Kimmy! I mean, Lleyton's one thing with his brash attitude and whatnot, but Kim's never done or said anything to warrant such hatred!

Plus, I like the way she looks because I like to delude myself into thinking we look similar. She's in much, much better shape than I am, but the structure of our faces and texture of hair are the same ;) So that was almost a personal insult (plus the fact that she's my favorite female player).

Ok, I'm going to bed now. It's 4 am. LOL, that's my favorite Leonard Cohen song. "It's 4 in the morning, the end of December..." It includes these immortal lines. "And thanks for the trouble you took from her eyes. I thought it was there for good, so I never tried." And these:

And what can I tell you my brother, my killer
What can I possibly say?
I guess that I miss you, I guess I forgive you
I'm glad you stood in my way.

If you ever come by here, for Jane or for me

The singer is this funny, bearded, shortish fella who always wears a woolen cap in the videos. He's very cute. In one of the videos he's a human taxi and he carried people on his back all day, until he finally drops of exhaustion and then a lovely girl picks him up and carries HIM. Wonderfully moving. In another video, he's comforting Joan Collins of all people. He convinces her to stop crying, get dressed up and go to a party with him where everyone seems to be expecting her. They're wonderfully mismatched. :)

Right, nighty night! :wavey:

BTW, Hackie, I think you ask who we think is best commentator. I think you mean existing one, right? I prefer Jimbo and the guy who was with JMac in USO. I don't remember his name but he's a baseball guy, I think. Maybe that, since he doesn't really criticize players so much.

maybe you're thinking of Ted Robinson? does he also commentate for NBC during Wimby with JMac and Chris Evert? if so, then it is Ted Robinson.

you guys like Jimbo as a commentator? i can't stand him!

poor hitman. sorry about your team.

What else is new? Some reporters are just preying for quotes to take out of context and they shamelessly omit the most important part. I didn't get upset because I knew Lleyton wouldn't suggest that, even though I am a fan of Moya and Spanish players rock my world. ;)

I saw the Chinese interview but as I said in the other thread that I want to reserve my judgement until I saw the English transcript but somehow it's not there still. The reason I don't trust the Chinese version is I saw both version for Juanqui's interview on day one and I feel the Chinese version is not a direct translation of the whole interview. I can see a lot of the writer's interpetation in the Chinese version. I trust the English version is more close to the truth because I believe the interview is conducted in English.

I also believe Hewitt will not suggest something like this. I believe he is prompted with the question. The thing is if the quote on eurosport.com is correct, he make himself liable for ppl taking him out of context which he should now be smart enough to avoid.

Carlos was very good today. The way he came back in the last game showed how confident he was.

I can't say he's gonna win TMC because I think Rogi also playing with all his cylinders running.

BTW, good luck with your math test.

Hitman, I'm so sorry for your team's lost. Hopefully you feel better on a new day. Please don't hesitate to post here when you are upset. I believe everyone here will not mind at all.

Okay, guess you aren't around. I just have a GG question bcos I'm a newbie to the show (and I just finished watching). Does Lorelei has a thing with Luke or vice versa? That's all. Someone here can tell me later. Thx.

I was reading the GM thread about Kimmy and she definitely not deserved to be called by that.

Anyway, the chemistry between Lorelai and Luke is always there, like from the beginning. Luke is definitely in love with Lorelai but being Luke, he will never show his feeling unless something drastic happened. Lorelai is a very complex person, she seems to reject the live style of her parents, especially her mom but she is actually good in moving in her mom's circle. Although she hates her mom interfere with her life, the men in her life actually conforms to her mother's standards, i.e. Max and Chris. It seems to me that she knows her mom will not approve Luke as her man, so she try to stay away from that kind of relationship with Luke.

OMG, you ask for a very simply answer but I've been non-stop talking and analysing GG. Guess I'm a real freak of GG!:o

Hi TH! :wavey:

Becca, you woke up just in time for the match. :) Too bad you guys didn't see it live. :(

Vera, Juanqui was brilliant (well, apart from the second set and a few moments here and there). Agassi was in the zone for a while but he was making some ridiculous mistakes as well. It was a fantastic match. Like I said, my commentator said it was the best match of the tournament so far. :) They were praising Ferrero's speed in the first set. And in the third set they kept admiring his fighting abilities. Juanqui certainly upped his level from 2 days ago. If he plays like that against Novak, he will win, but Novak is tricky. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Juanqui's serve was unbelievable. I think he hit over 10 aces. At one point he served 4 aces in one game. :D

Right, I see you've all left. Bye TH, Vera and Becca! :wavey:

:wavey: hey all.

i was following live scores earlier during my free period and my heart was beating so fast! especially when Juanqui lost that 6-3 lead in the tiebreak! i thought i was gonna cry! anyway, i am SOOOOOO happy that Juanqui won and best of all i taped this match so i can watch it when i get home today. YAY! :) it must have been a classic.

other good news: my math test was so easy. i finished 20 minutes early. :D

and now i'm gonna go. english class awaits. :wavey: ( to Emma)

btw, congrats to Roger Federer on qualifying for the semis. i hope he took enough energy out of Novak so that Juanqui can beat him tomorrow. :)
