Yes, Fab has good records against Clement (4-2) but againt Malisse is the opposite (0-4). Time to change...
But before, he has to past the first round and that could be difficult. Allez :D

The quote of the day on the FFT website: "C'est un peu le père qui arrive avec ses fils au troisième tour."
("It kind of feels like the father reaching the third round with his boys." Fabrice speaking of Gaël and Richard, both 20 y. old - "beyond the difference of age, "Battling Fab" is pretty close to Richard and especially Gaël." http://www.fft.fr/open-australie/2007/)

I just listened to his audio interview, he says he's been having some breathing problems for a few days, he doesn't feel very well. He's used to play with his back or his feet hurting, but it's very hard to play tennis when you can't breathe normally.
The next round will be tough since he always gets spanked by Davydenko, even when he's playing pretty well. He explains in great detail why Kolya is so hard to play, why he deserves to be the world number 3, etc. He says maybe he can use the high bounce in Melbourne.

A video of Fabrice's press conference on the Eurosport website:
http://video.eurosport.com/2007/01/20/santoro_32761_4_57_3_320x240.wmv
He isn't sure to come back to Melbourne, but he doesn't want to think about it yet.
He looks a bit sad and melancholic though when he says that, he explains 5 of the 10 best moments of his career happened here in Australia (with the DC), it means a lot to him.

In L'Équipe:
He lost in 3 sets, but it was his best match of the tournament in his opinion. Davydenko is a machine, he's admirable. No other player is able to attack every ball like that. He returns everything and very fast. When you're playing very well and you're down 0-2 in the sets, you feel like: 'But what am I supposed to do to win this??' It 'kills' him. If they had played 30 more minutes, he would have landed in the hospital. He even prefers to play Nadal!

(In his audio interview on the FFT website, he also says he prefers to play Fed over Davydenko. He obviously won't beat Fed either, but at least he knows what to do, how to play against him. With Davydenko, he feels completely helpless.)
