Coria will get a WC, no?

I think this RR format could help JCF.

Coria will get a WC, no?

Yes.

Canas probably won't need one, though.

It's weird to see Del Potro not supporting his home tourney, but at least he's doing it to improve his game and not for purely financial reasons like Coria and Nalbandian did a couple of years ago.

for R1 and RR you can buy the tickets in the same day usually, maybe for QF too if you go early. For SF and F you can buy them during the same week.

one Wild Card is for Cañas, but what about the other two?

Guga?

Coria?

or some of the second tier Argentine players, like Hartfield or Berlocq?

Wild Cards in the past editions:

2001: Cañas, Gumy, Nalbandian.
2002: Etlis, Massa, Puerta.
2003: Kuerten, Massa, Puerta.
2004: Cañas, Monaco, Squillari.
2005: Massa, Nadal, Puerta.
2006: Brzezicki, Del Potro, Kuerten.

Well, I hope Coria and Guga get WC´s. Hopefully El Mago will play great tennis at home! And Guga will have played in 2 more tournaments before BA... he should be in form, specially since it will be a RR tournament!!!!

As for Del Potro, it´s really a pity he does not seem to have comitted... it would be a pleasure to watch him play!

I wonder how you Argentinian guys are feeling towards Coria now... can you please tell me something about him? Is he practising? Is he ok? I really hope so! :)

I wonder how you Argentinian guys are feeling towards Coria now... can you please tell me something about him? Is he practising? Is he ok? I really hope so! :)The organizers said they keep one WC for him if he wants to play, but afaik, Coria hasn't said so far he is going to play Buenos Aires.
I've read he's practising, but since he pulled out of the last 4 events he had entered or considered playing, I don't really expect him to play Buenos Aires, honestly. But it will be a nice surprise if he does.

... and Gonzalez in doubt ...

(from the same article Truc posted the link to)

Today in Ole I read that WC's will go to Zabaleta, Cañas and the 3rd one to Hartfield, Berlocq or Schwank. Eduardo depends on his Costa Du Sauipe performance. If he reachs QF he will get a SE, right?

ltaravilse
02-14-2007, 03:14 AM
I think that Cañas won't need a WC and I also think that you need semis to get a SE and Cañas only needs to defeat Calleri to be in semis (I think that first and second round will be easy for him)

The third wildcard will be for Guga, they are waiting for his answer, if not it will go to Hartfield.

If Willy beat Calleri in Costa do Sauipe Quarterfinals, he will get SE = 1 more WC too..... :)

Imagining Cañas and Hartfield entering in the draw...
The 2 remaining WildCards I think should go to Schwank or Brzezicki or Berlocq or Edgardo Massa

I think they would both get the SE, as they are unable to make the qualifying sign in as they are still playing in another tournament (that is my understanding of the rule anyway)
