Call me crazy, but I think he will get there eventually. Of course, I AM biased, cause he's one of my faves, but nevertheless.

He has improved considerably in the last year, but played his worst tennis of the year at Wimbledon (well, maybe not his worst, but pretty close). He even said so himself.

I think the pressure must be getting to him, even though he claims that isn't the case. The British press is just brutal. First they hoist him up as a superman, then they rip him apart. But perhaps more importantly, the pressure he puts himself under in his favorite part of the year is not helping him.

Pressure, pressure, pressure. From the media, from himself, hell, even the Queen planned to make an appearace if he made it to the final this year.

I think he'll get to the final one year, but I don't know if he'll win it. I'd love for him too, but I don't know if he will.

Anyone who reachs the semifinal all those times (three in a row, isnt it?) has enough to win it all. Thats what I think.
But that doesnt mean he will ever actually win it. Like Th said, the pressure is just huge with that "Henmania" thing that comes out so strong when Wimb is approaching.
It only tends to get worse every year...

We had a lot of "HENMANIA" here this year. I mean, A LOT! And I have to say that I started feeling sorry for this guy. They kept showing the headlines of the papers there everyday and to see something like, "With Agassi and Sampras gone, you better win or we'll never forgive you." OUCH!!! What a strange relationship they have with him. The pressure he must feel every year, even though he says "I think I'm handling it quite well." uh-huh. I just wish he'd win it one year.....SO THEY WOULD SHUT UP ABOUT IT ALREADY! :)

Pressure's the name of the game, and more for him cuz the Brits never had a champion at Wimby since Fred Perry and that's a pretty heavy load on his back...

Hope he's win it, though. It'll be good for English tennis.

His only real chance was 2001- to be a finalist... Rafter would only outplay him in every department in the final. He had his chances in the Ivanisevic match but when it came to 3 1 ahead in the tiebreaker to take the match, Goran got inspired again and that was that.

Henman could never compare to Sampras, and in future years he'll fall to Hewitt most likely, with Safin, Federer and Haas being other threats

as Mary Carillo put it, he's not of the same caliber of guys like Hewitt, Sampras, and Ivanisevic, who have all beaten him at Wimby. personally, i disagree with his new strategy to take more pace off the 1st serve to get higher percentages. i think he should instead go for bigger 1st serves, even if that means less serves in. also maybe his approach shots aren't good enough. this year Hewitt was passing him with EASE!

I think he could win it, but only if all the top seeds got knocked out all around him. He could prob pull off 1 big win, but thats about it.

lol @ Sonic

So what you mean, is that if no one in the top 30, or with a big serve is in his part of the draw, that he could win it :D?

if Wimbledon was downgraded to a challenger status he might have a chance

This was his year to win it all. He had the easiest draw of anybody plus Sampras and Agassi went out early. All Timmy had to do was keep his nerve which, of course, he couldn't.

Actually, Henman's talents are average at best. He's never won a big tournament, not just Wimbledon but he has no Masters shield to call his own. He's really what used to be call a "journeyman" player.:o He'll never be great but he's the best the British have had in years and years. And, he'll never win Wimbledon.:D NEVER!!!!

I think he doesn't have the guts to win. Too many pressure, from the media and from himself.
I don't like him , sorry

I'm not really a Henman fan at all, but I hope he wins Wimbledon one day, and I've a suspicion he will! I think it's the pressure - it's really quite immense, and I imagine it's enough to break most other beings...
