And now Kolya had defeated O. Rochus 6-4 and 6-3 :D Kolya gave me a scare. In the 1st Set he was down 4 to 2 :scared: But he came back strong and won the Match :D I know Kolya isn't the most liked player here at MTF. But what I like about him is that he always fights. He always tries hard to find a way to win :)

 sorry Miru, no one had posted about his first tourney so I thought I woudl just get it started :D

Maybe you can start a 2007 picture thread? It would be a bit more organized if we did it by year and plus we wouldn't have to go through so many pages  What do you guys think?

Well Andy defeated Kolya  And this time I didn't even look at the score. I just saw A. Murray d. N. Davydenko and I didn't read any more.
I was concerned about this Match because Murray is one of the up and coming "Young Guns". And in this Tournament he has not only been winning his Singles Matches Andy and his brother Jamie have been winning their Doubles Matches as well. Actually I had hoped that maybe Andy would be getting tired, but I guess not  I like Andy also, but since Kolya was seeded #1 I had hoped he might win the Tournament  I saw a title in the GM section which might help explain things it said Murray defeated an injuried Davydenko. I had no idea he was hurt or had gotten hurt  Get well soon Kolya :)

alelysafina
01-05-2007, 11:04 PM
he lost 5-7 2-6.. It seems like he asked for an injury time out because of a foot injury, but apparently it isn't very bad. So get well soon Kolya!

So if you guys were wondering why the site has been down, that's the explanation.

First I wish to say HI to everyone on this forum as I am new here. I am a Davydenko fan from Australia and am very sad to see him go out in the QF. Also I would like to say sorry to him for the way the Australian Open has treated him.

Being the No 3 seed, he did not get a chance to play in the centre courts till his QF while Federer and Nadal and it seems everyone else are hogging that court. He said in an interview he doesn't mind at all but still I think it hurts a bit to be in this position.

I wish he would get into the finals soon so people would take him seriously! He is such a hardworking player and yet not given the credit for earning his No3 seed. One article even say he is the accidental no 3 which makes me so mad.

We Kolya fans must support him more fiercely and show others that yes, Davydenko too has many die hard fans!!!!

So glad to have found this forum :D

Welcome. :wavey:

I too was upset that they never even showed or mentioned Nikolay on tv. It was totally unfair. We can just hope that Kolya keeps winning and shows them all how talented he is.

My parents know how much I love Nikolay. I was walking around the house all sad and I said to my dad, "I am so depressed." And he said, "What? Did Davydenko lose?" So at least my family knows I support Kolya above all others. :)

Kolya would you please refrain from making statements before learning all of the facts? I don't like it when people make statements and then have it cause people to worry for nothing. Eduard was probably just upset that kolechka had lost like he did, nothing more nothing less and unless you have heard anything from a more reliable source that something is indeed wrong with kolya please do not assume.

AMAZING DC weekend :woohoo:

Despite a terrible match against Mathieu, Kolya did amazingly well during doubles

I went to see the tie with a friend of mine who came all the way from Germany and she took some amazing photos, including pics of Kolya and we also wrote a report, so for those who are interested

6 6 7 - Moyà
4 7 6 - Davydenko
3:03

Carlos Moyà defeated russian Nikolay Davydenko in first semifinal of an exhibition tournament which is played in Mallorca on clay by 6-4, 6-7(4-7) and 7-6(7-1) in aproximately 3 hours of match. Next match will be between Rafel Nadal and the argentinean David Nalbandián.

First set, the russian broke Moyà and had situated up by 2-1, then the local player took the re-break. Finally the spaniard broke him in tenth game of 1st set and took the first set by 6 games to 4.

At the 2nd set the Davydanko took advantadge again in the set by 3-1. But Carlos could level the set with a break. There weren't breaks untill the tie-break, when Moyà had an advantadge of 4-2 and the russian won 5 points in a row and took the Tie-Break game and the 2nd set.

At 3rd set there weren't breaks. But Davydenko had 4 break points in 6th game of 3rd set and one in 8th. Carlos had his break chances at 7th game. After 3 hours of match, the spaniard closed the match with a 7-1 in the last set Tie-Break.

It was a really closed match, two players did a high level match, hard and with lots of long rallies in the baseline. At 3rd set the two players had his chances to take the match, but at the end a tired Davydenko lost it in the tie-break.

GOD BLESS IRINA!!!!!!!! :worship: The girl is a genius!!! She opened a livejournal account and now we can at least know all the details about what's going on :bigclap:

It is in Russian but there are tons of great photos you can look at

davydenko.livejournal.com

Irina wrote about Estoril loss and to be honest we are all pretty much  about it, Kolya especially.

He was meant to play at noon and the weather was nice and all then all of a sudden it just started pouring like hell. So the neverending waiting began. When they came out in the end Ira said she couldn't believe her eyes. While all other courts were covered during rain the one they played on wasn't. It was wet and even had puddles. So it became really slippery and heavy and soooooooooo slow.

Ira said she was almost crying watching the match. Kolya had picked up form and was doing really well but this was a total nightmare. He was slipping and sliding and couldn't control his movements well...his opponent being a bit more heavy and well poistured took advantage of that but Kolya's game just fell apart...she said he was so upset at the end, it was unbearable to watch.

The next day he was up on the court hitting balls left, right and centre like a true champ so the best is yet to come :yeah:

Where is everyone? :p I need consoling. :sobbing:  That match was just...torture to watch. The only reason I'm not completely devastated is because Rafa is my number two favorite behind Nikolay. So if Kolya had to lose to anyone I am glad it was Rafa.

Rafa wasn't playing that well at all. Nikolay was playing amazing. He truly has the talent to win a slam. He fought so hard the entire match. Nikolay had sooo many chances. Now if he can learn not to be too nervous in the tight moments. It seemed like he got nervous and would make an error on the important points.

I am encourgaed though by the way he played, truly some brilliant shots. He seems to have found his form again just in time for Roland Garros. I hope he won't be in Rafa's half. I want them to meet in the final. With Kolya winning it in dramatic fashion of course. :)

I thought Kolya was going to win RG 2005. He lost to a guy who was exhausted in the final.

He lost to a guy who was on drugs and was later in the middle of a doping scandal with all his RG prize money and points taken off as well as a ban from tennis for 7 years :p

After leading 4/2 in the first set, serving for second set at 5/4 and serving for the third set at 5/3, after having 17 breakpoints and playing some pretty amazing tennis...

Kolya loses to Federer 5/7 6/7 (5/7) 6/7 (7/9)

I am just speechless. He played so well all through the match except for important points...it was amazing, like he was hypnotized or something
We really need to do something with that psycholgical nonsense...beating Roger is OK, Kolya...totally OK!!!!!!!!!

This was supposed to be a straight set win over the world number 1 if he didn't choke so much :banghead:

my0118
06-08-2007, 05:27 PM
I just really sorry for him because he didn't play bad at all against Roger.
I actually think he played better than roger and he was always in the winning position. All about the match was his mental problems.
Well, I'm impressed by his games. How many players take their winning position over players like Roger and Rafa?
I hope he gets himself together with thinking of today's match and Rome's, so makes another semifinals in Wimbledon.

Kolya
06-08-2007, 06:01 PM
Great effort from Kolya, he really deserved to win this match. But Federer didn't choke as much. This proves to all critics that you deserve to be world No. 3.

Just a bit more work with your game, will help you close matches a bit better and less stressful for me

Hopefully you can beat Federer next time.

Kolya, take a rest now

anyway, good that you know you still have something to improve no matter how difficult it is even tho you havent enough decisive weapons on court, doesnt matter, time and experience help you of course you should take advantage them :)

A nice result in RG still, no? :yeah:

Alexandy
06-10-2007, 09:01 PM
Now that I'm not so bitter I can post about Kolya's match against Fed. :( It's such a pity that he didn't win but I am going to take this match as a positive. Kolya has the game to win against Fed and Rafa and anyone else. I hope next time he will be more confident and believe that he can win. Still, this was a great result, he had such a hard draw and almost did it. :) You'll win next time Nikolay!!! :yeah:

Kolya

Notice - I have updated Kolya's Wikipedia page extensively to make it look better compared to Federer's, Nadal's and Nalbandian's pages.

If you have time have a look and tell me any areas to improve please. Any authorised pictures would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, good luck in Halle, Kolya.

{Annie}
06-13-2007, 06:32 AM
He won a match on grass!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: With a little adventure but he did :p

first round Halle (from the ATP) ...

Second seed Nikolay Davydenko was struck in the eye by a ball  in the final game of his opener, but still managed to defeat Austrian No. 1 Jurgen Melzer 7-6(6), 4-6, 6-2 to advance to the second round for the first time in three appearances in Halle. Davydenko also improved his career record on grass to 2-11. His only other win on the surface came in 2005 at Wimbledon (d. Draper).

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b48/AnnieRussia/Kolya/davydenko_halle2.jpg

WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID

Davydenko: “I feel good. I’m happy to win in the first round on grass. Every match you win on grass feels very good and is very important... I served well from the beginning. I also tried out different stringing tensions, which was interesting. I changed racquets and choose a different string tension for the third set and won it 6-2. I was surprised getting better control after the racquet change and think I now have a good chance to win some more matches on grass.”

On getting hit in the eye by a ball in the final game of the match: “My eye is sore but I will do my best to recover. If my eye gets swollen and blue I have to seriously consider if I can play. I want to be hundred percent ok with my eye to play. If it’s big and swollen I cannot play at my normal level.”

On playing Mayer in the second round: “I don’t know really what to expect because grass court tennis is so different. Normally I feel stronger and more confident playing from the baseline having time to control the rallies but on grass it’s different.”

Kolya:(
Just heard his press conference and he seems a litle too relaxed about the grass court season which he considers to be a 3 week holiday.

http://www.inside-tennis.net/index.php?action=news&id=2584

alelysafina
06-15-2007, 03:56 AM
Well, I would try to be as relaxed as possible and not try to get too worked up over any part of the season in which I knew that I had little to no chance of actually winning a match. I would rather have him be relaxed than kicking himself over the losses on grass and doing badly during the next part of the season.
