As Spring and summer fast approaches, that feeling in the air comes over you and you know it's time for Andy Roddick trivia. Basically, just ask fun questions and answer questions about Andy in this thread....

Rule:
Alright guys lets not make these too hard. No questions like on October 8th 2003 what did Andy eat for lunch. Nothing too specific or un-fun like that stuff.

Ahhh yes, some easy ones to start!

1- What was the first Tournement Roddick won as a Pro?

2- What is Andy Roddick's middle name?

3- His Brother John was an all-American tennis player at what school?

Havok

What is Andy Roddick's career record against Marat Safin?

Robby, right?

yep, 0-2 until that straight set victory happens *fingers tighly crossed, knocking on wood, rubbing a lucky rabbits foot, of course*

and Robby "no weapons" Ginepri was who he beat (I like Robby better than Fish, Blake, or Dent for some reason)

Chris Berman, he's a famous sportcaster for ESPN..

Deboogle!.
03-14-2004, 10:46 PM
I like Robby a lot more after seeing him live in person a couple times. but I still love Mardy and James more. Dent is still very eh for me.

re: the commercial.... I don't know, all I know is that I read several places that no special effects were used. Now that doesn't mean it wasn't staged specifically for the commercial, just that it was a real serve of Andy's. But, since I wasn't there for the taping I don't know. and quite frankly, I don't think I care ;)

Thanks for adding The Naldo to your sig!

Ericsson Open 2001. :)

Yeah, a lot of people feel that way about Pollock. Plus he's named after a fish. ;)

http://www.artic.edu/artaccess/AA_Modern/images/pollack1_med.jpg

But Picasso isn't fully abstract, although he's certainly modernist. But he's still drawing real objects most of the time, just distorting them.

If you look at early Picasso pieces he was an incredible realist painter. This was painted when he was 14!

What type of Racquet did Roddick play with before Babolat?(This time I just mean the company who made the racquet)

Who holds the all time record for aces in a men's singles match and where is Roddick in comparison?

Name what Belgian player Roddick is 8-0 against? (this player has only taken 2 sets off of Roddick in their 8 meetings)

most questions you say....

1. Everyone remembers the Roddick vs. El Anouyi match of last year but, Roddick had another match right before that in Aussie open in which he was down two sets and came back who was it against and what was the final score?

2. At the US Open in 2002 Roddick had one of his most memorable points ever when he is scurring around after balls just trying to get the ball back, he is in the backcourt he gets drop shotted and runs up to the net and gets the ball back, he is lobbed over and runs the ball down then hits a between the legs shot, followed by a forehand and then a two handed backhand down the line for a winner. After this point Roddick jumps in the crowd and starts giving high fives. Who was this match against and what was the final score?

3. Since everyone is here knows Roddick's racquet, lets talk about whats actually hitting the ball. What kind of string does Roddick use?

2. During the Sampras QF right? Again don't remember what the score was but it was something ugly like 6-3 6-2 6-2 (well, ugly if you're Andy, not ugly if you're Petie)

3. Doesn't he use some custom blend polyester something or other? (yea that's my answer lmfao)

haha, sometimes, that old Andy comes out. That's when I know he's really into it. You can see that clipse of the real Andy and not the on court facade, that's so cool when that happens I think. I saw that match in person, in flushing, that made me a Roddick fan, sadly he losed after that match but, I was a fan for life after that match.

Deboogle!.
03-19-2004, 04:14 PM
Maybe.... but I don't think Andy in 2004 would react that way to his opponent hitting an overhead long on break point. He'd be happy about breaking, maybe even pump his fist but he wouldn't throw his hands up and act like a little kid anymore, I'm confident of that.

tangerine_dream
03-19-2004, 04:19 PM

Deboogle!.

Yes it was :) in the highlights link Fumus gave us to the vid at AR.com it shows that point but also a break in the following set where Andy hits a couple good shots and Chela hits the overhead out, giving Andy a break and Andy acts really immaturely. I'm sure he would never do that on an opponent's error anymore.

Tarik and I won't even pretend to guess his last name

and he was 16 and practicing and pissed and he just did it one day and it stuck.

Oh and yes I am right about how Mandy and Andy met, I'm a big fan of Mandy and she's told the story like 209470264967029470279420749 times  LOL

well I guess I heard the Andy side of that story...

on the Tennis Channel's no strings he said that Mandy's relative was a fan of Andy and she went with the relative to see an Andy match. Then I guess Mandy said she was fan and they went out dinner, sparks flew...

I thought I read in here awhile ago that they broke up?

Deboogle!.
03-22-2004, 07:20 PM
yea, Mandy's mother is a tennis fan. She went to see Andy in Toronto in 2002 when Mandy was up there filming how to deal. Mandy had seen his picture in RollingStone and thought he was cute so she was kidding with her mom and said "hey if you meet him, bring him back to the set" - and she did, and they hit it off so the next day on her day off she and her mom went to Andy's match and Mandy loved it and afterwards they went out to dinner (with James too, I think I read somewhere), and the rest is history. That's the story she tells.

There's no confirmation whether they broke up or not, but that's what the rumors say.

A) Boxers or briefs?

B) Dresses on the right or left?

C) Other birthmark located where?

my guess would be the inbetweenies for the boxers/briefs. he just doesn't strike me as a briefs dude :scared: and i don't understand what you mean tangy about dresses on the left or right  as for his other birthmark, are you sure he's got another one, or just speculation?

as for Q, 2003 AO vs Younes saved one matchpoint (inside out forehand winner ;worship: ), as well as US Open sf vs Nalbandian, Ace something like 133 mph serve. as for the matches he won/or lost i dont get that either

Here's what I meant:

for A) it's obvious. He saved a match point in his Australia El Aynaoui win and one in his USO Nalbandian win.

for B) I'm basically asking, did he save any match points in his losses to Schuttler in AO, Sargsian at RG, or Federer at Wimb? I don't remember.

it's a totally pointless question (i.e. trivia ;) )
