Thiago Alves :yeah:

Bad decision of his to play here, if he gets a tough draw he will lose all the runner-up points from Sao Paulo and the distance to the top 100 will increase. :(

I don't think Marat will play here. He likes to spend his New Year in Moscow. He is going straight to Melbourne to play Kooyong.

Paradorn may withdraw.

Paradorn said that if his wrist injury still not getting well since Asian Games 2006 in Doha, he may withdraw from this tournament. Right now he can practice with Davydenko and Youzhny in Pattaya but still feel hurt a little bit on right wrist. He said that he will decide in last minute on 29/12/2006 before travel to Chennei if he should withdraw or not.

Does anybody know who Bartolome Salva is and what kind of tennis he practices?I really find it a little strange that he got the wild card:rolleyes:

Bartolome Salva normally won a lot of futures during the year, but it is hard to him to enter in ATP Challenger level; he is from Manacor, Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Rafael Nadal born here too; they play both when they are juniors, but actually Nadal play better than Salva...

Probably he will be losing in 1st round, but maybe he will win a match....

Paradorn goes to Chennai to play already today. His father confirmed that his wrist injury become better. However if during any match, he got hurt with his wrist injury again, he told Paradorn to retire in that match immediately to safe himself before Australian open.

Tomeu Salvà is a young Majorcan lefty player, similar age than Rafa. He plays well and win in Futures and try to play some Challengers. Last year he played for fisrt time in an ATP event singles in Barcelona. In 2004 (I don't remember the year exactly) he won European Junior Championships

Yeah I agree. Its good have a friend who is a top player.
I think instead of appearence money Nadal might have requested the organizers to give a Wild Card to his friend (which is not a bad idea.)

Yes this guy will definetely play better than sargsian.
