Good match :) cant say that Ivan didnt have his chances

up at break in the 1st, early

had 15-40 2bps at 4-4 in the first

and had 0-40 3pts at 2-1 in the 2nd.

everytime Ivan and Roger play, Roger got all the lucky pts. no change today

1/6 on Bps vs Roger wont win a match

Ivan did beat Roger in Aces and winners :rocker2:  you lost that one Roger ;)

serving bad killed Ivan today, ivan serving bad and still had chances???? how..he is all serve!!!

Yeah but now he will probably have to face Nadal and Nalbandian back to back it will be a tall order to win this one.

But Roger never shies away from a challenge no matter how hard he will be up for it. Got to give him credit for that :hatoff:

so whos in the semis now, federer and nalbandian? nalbandian ljubicic and roddick are all 1-2. how did they decide roddick was already out even before federer nad ljubicic happened.

Roddick's set w/l record was 3-5. Nalbandian's set w/l record was 4-4. So, Roddick had no shot of advancing.

Yep he has his work cut out. Well done against Ivan though. He could have made his job easier by tanking but I will forgive him. ;)

Federer finishes the group first, Nalbandian second.

Nalbandian will play Blake in one semifinal (who finished his group first already regardless of what happens tomorrow).

Federer will play the winner of the Nadal/Davydenko match tomorrow.

Nalbandian won fewer sets than Ivan and Andy. He beat Roddick in straight sets. So that differentiated himself from those two.......Asfor Federer he now has won 90 matches this year. :yeah:

Off the top of my head I do not remember a TMC in recent years in which one of the participants advanced to the semifinals after losing two matches and winning only one at the group stage.

The most tie-breaks in a row this year won Marcos Baghdatis - 12.
I think the record belong to Sampras - he won 16 consecutives tie-breaks five years ago...

ljubicic was really made to look one dimensional this match. his serve, which is his biggest weapon, was neutralized and without it, Roger attacked his forehand freely securing the easy win. i felt roger was playing maybe 3rd gear. (then again, he's been that way since the start)

Actually, you speak nonsense.
No offense, but when you have 50% 1st serve (42% for the better part of the match), it doesn't mean the opponent 'neutralized' your serve. It mean you screwed it yourself. Ivan was winning vast majority of those 1st serves against Federer. On the other hand, look what David has done to A-Rod, even against 75% of ARod's 1st serve. What would this match look like if Ivan could pull 75% 1st serves?

True, it is partially due to Ivan's fear of Federer, that he tries to serve even better than normally - resulting in his inability to hit it when it's most needed.

Interesting how Fed could've made his life easier with tank job, but at this point, I'm sure he relishes all challenges and feels that he can beat anyone, anywhere.

We all can imagine the comments here on MTF when Roger would have lost the match against Ivan ;)

Roger is not the kind of a player who would cheat in his sports - and nothing more would it have been if he would have went into the match against Ivan with the intention not to win it.

He has won 9 GS titles and is the No 1 with the most points and probably the biggest lead of points ever against the players behind him.

For me the reason why some people take the h2h with a certain player for so serious is the fact that he otherwise nearly never loses and therefore the attention to the matches against the No 2 of the world is so big.

Anyway, congrats to Roger for winning in straight sets against Ivan and being unbeaten in Round Robin :)
