Hey, I got my tickets today. Am a little excited as never seen Fed. Have seen Nadal in Barcelona in 2005 and enjoyed it. Just thought I'd share my excitement with the tennis community! :)

I know. I hope they don't pull out. Luckily seoul is only a three hour flight from Shanghai, so they shouldn't be too exhausted. And I'm sure the $$$$$ will be enticing!
And Korean food! :D

Well apparently they're selling lots of tickets at exorbitantly expensive prices for it so I hope they do both plan to turn up - even if I am against them doing exhibition matches in the off-season while moaning that the long season leaves them exhausted.

I guess it's not so bad in that it's right after the Masters Cup and in the same sort of region but even so - what - do they need the money really?

Nadal should let Federer win for a change :)

He should and in exchange, Fed should give up some of his nearly 4000 point entry rankings lead. :)

TV broadcaster KBS2 is to air the match live nationwide, Lee said.

"We are planning to announce a schedule and procedures for the match on Thursday," Lee said.

"Federer and Nadal are scheduled to arrive at Incheon International Airport on Monday aboard their private jets."
The two are currently playing the last tournament of the season, the Shanghai Masters Open, in China. The final of Shanghai Masters is to take place on Sunday.

KBS2 has free live feeds on the internet, I don't know if it's the same feed as the domestic channel compared to the international one. Also I haven't been able to find an update about when the time of the match will be. I went to KBS website and it had an english programming page but I couldn't find any reference to this match.

If anyone has further details please post, thanks.

And they are saying that all members can use the same service on the internet free of charge irrespective of their nationality or residence.
So it seems to be that you can watch the match live through 'on air' service of this website if you are willing to put up with bothersome registration procedure in advance.

The quality was poor for a live feed. Like someone said you could only see the ball on the slo mo replays. Great shot making by both men and loved that sequence where Rafa stayed back and Fed was at the net and Rafa actually won the point. Then of course there was the 360 over the shoulder shot. One break in each set. Lots of smiles all around but nothing is ever light hearted between these two.
BTW what was up with the questions the reporter was asking? These are tennis players not pop stars.

we can take a little away from these results. even though its likely that it went to a three setter because its an exhibition and they (players and organizers) want the fans to get their money's worth, it says something that federer not nadal was the one who eventually won. i imagine the two coconspirating "you take the first set, i'll take the second. then we'll play for kind of real on the third set."

In my opinion, I think that Roger probably played a much better and much more stable match than in their last few meetings. Roger is beginning to understand the most fundamental aspect of Nadal's game, though he can't be given all of the credit for this discovery. He was assisted and aided along the way by other players whom had previously taken the authority or the initiative when going up against Nadal, constant timid play and really nothing more is what we've seen from him, finally Roger understands that you must attack and that you cannot wait for the mistake.

I watched the match from early in the first set and I have to say it was a very competitively played match with some great rallies, attacking play from both men and excellent defending. Roger played a great first set but had a poor game in the second and Rafa took full advantage. The match seemed to lose a bit of intensity as the third set wore on and errors here and there brought about the break that Roger took and then served out.

Can't read much into exo matches but they were both playing to win as well as playing a bit more relaxed on court than usual - more smiling and nice moments. I don't think losing would worry Raf one bit, but as has been said -well it can't hurt Roger to beat him for the second time in 4 days, can it? Not bad for the old confidence as his wraps up for the season. He can go home feeling that, if the enigma of Nadal is not yet solved, he's got a lot more experience attempting to than he did at the start of this year.

so what is the fundamental part of nadal's game? i dont think roger's gameplan was to play timid in their earlier matches this year. i think nadal was so in roger's head that he was aggressive at the wrong time. but with the wimbledon win, and watching guys like berdych and blake beat nadal by being constantly aggressive, ALONG with winning the us open, federer has more belief in himself which translates to going for his shots. federer is the better player so he does not need to change his game but he doubted this up til shanghai. (even at wimbledon i'd say nadal choked that match away with many uncharacteristic ues rather than federer winning it)

Are there brave men and women who are prepared to laugh in the face of danger and spit in the eye of tardism and slash their way though the deepest encampments of the enemy?

Have to correct you here. I'm neither a PorkDork nor a FedTard.
In fact, I've been hunted down by both of these rather questionable species lately. ;)

But if you ask me if I'm a Rafa-fan, I'll whole heartedly admit that! Justs as much as I'm a Fed-fan, in fact. ;)

BREAKING NEWS (Associated Press)

World No1 tennis player Roger Federer of Switzerland was caught red handed today outside Seoul International Airport in an attempt to smuggle fake Louis Vuitton handbags out of the country. The famous athlete who was recently featured in Vogue as well as in the People's magazine list of sexiest men alive was visiting the country to take part in an exhibition match against world No2 Rafael Nadal of Spain.

The Swiss athlete, unaware that he was being followed by a persistent paparazzi, was photographed as he was loading several handbags into his car outside a warehouse 10 miles away from the airport (see photo below). Roger Federer and his Korean associate were apprehended later by airport police. When questioned by the authorities Federer claimed the handbags belonged to him and had been bought to be used for carrying his tennis rackets. :p :D

Let's face it: like all great rivalries, its likely that the players know how to compete against one another (at least at this point), and it will be a matter of execution. Rare blowouts, and titanic struggles in the future. Both will make adjustments, but are too talented to simply be cast aside.

These guys remind me of Lendl and Becker...not the animosity, but the head to head. ALWAYS great matches, and in the end, Lendl was ahead by a single match.

Most great rivalries also include beatdowns. There were a few beatdowns in that Lendl-Becker rivarly. I;m sure there will be some beatdowns in the future between these two.

Disturbing? The hell you say! It's nothing short of HILARIOUS!!!!!!!! That bag is amazing!!!

Can't you just see it?

Roger : "SHIT! Somebody just took a picture. Mirka. QUICK! Pretend this is yours."

The bag spills, it's contents falling everywhere...

Mirka (picking up a tube) : "But Roger....you know I don't wear that shade of lip gloss. It completely washes me out. Nobody would believe it."

Roger (mumbling) : "Raf would have done it for me..."

Mirka : "I'm sorry. Did you say something?"

Roger : "No honey. Nothing at all.":rolls: First-rate!

I was at the match live and it was pretty good. The first set was all Roger. The next was much better when Rafa seemed more comfortable and they had some great rallies. Roger's sliced bh is sooo lovely and Rafa hit some fierce down the line winners. When Rafa had bps on Rogi's serve in the 1st game of the third set, i thought things were about to get exciting but Fed's serve was too good. Then, after staying so closely with Rogi, at 3-3 Nadal fell away and hit some unforced errors. Indeed, the match ended on a bum note really when Rafa hit a fh long, but still, the crowd were happy to see it go 3 sets and to catch the two of them live. The best parts were when they played pit a pat tennis at the net and tried to outwit each other. When Rafa managed to hit some drop shots or won one of these exchanges he broke out into a huge, gorgeous smile. Honestly, he really is adorable. Another nice thing was seeing them after the match just chatting side by side while they waited for the prize ceremony to get underway.
All in all a fun 90 mintues and now I can be content having seen fed live, and rafa for the second time.

BTW, who said it would be Nadal giving the beating? ;)

NY, you're right...there were some beatdowns, but I don't recall one player dominating the series. Any Rafa fan or otherwise who thought/thinks Rafa could dominate this series is "smoking something". Though Roger has the ability to blow anyone away, I don't think he will ever do it for an entire match. Rafa fights too much for that.

Although Lendl ended 1 match ahead (leading 11-10 matches inclding last 3 matches in 1992-3 of which 1 was a W/O), Becker won nearly all the big matches between them (Becker lead 5-1 in grand slams):

Australian Open: Becker won in final 1991.
Wimbledon: Becker won in final 1986 (also semi-finals 1988 and 1989)
US Open : Becker won in final 1989 (Lendl won in R16 in 1992)

Great match in terms of two warriors going at it since the tennis itself wasn't all that great relative to those two players' ability.
