I'll go out on a limb and make a few predictions :).

SF

Federer v Nadal
Blake v Roddick

Both very tasty matches. I'll pick Fed over Nadal in 3.
Blake v Roddick is really very hard to predict. Roddick leads it 6-2 but the last 2 have gone to Blake but Roddick is not on a resurgent drive. I'll go with the rejuvenated Roddick.

Which means a Fed v Roddick final. Now wouldn't that be a feast to watch given their RR encounter? :D

I agree with your semis predictions, but I think Roddick will take out Nadal in the final. I'd pick Fed to make the final only if it were a best of 5 semi vs Nadal.

Those were the semi finals that would have created the most interest. Im glad it looks likely to happen now. Both look 50/50 matches! Top two players in the world and I guess Andy and James will be playing for the US no#1 position as well. :)

I mostly agree with you:cool:

SF ~ Fed v Nadal, Blake v Roddick
Final ~ Federer v Blake [with the Swiss dominator to win in 4-sets];)

Yup, looks like it's all going to plan. ;)

Fed loses to Rafa and we finally get a dream Roddick-Nadal final.

It's definitely a feasible scenario, but I'd rather wait till Rafa wins today's match

nah.. Nadal would have to be really poor to lose to Robredo. This is a terrible match up for Tommy as there is nothing he can do that Nadal can't do better.

Nadal is playign awesome tennis right now, his winners on the run against Robredo are superb , his forehand is working like it used to and he is volleying pretty good , and Federer maybe a little bit tired if Ljubo makes it close , I would pick Nadal over Federer in 3 , Nadal is feeling good on this surface, and Nadal - Roddick final is also tasty perspective

Federer will be done on Thursday and will have one day off, whereas Nadal will have a difficult (probably) match on Friday.

It seems pretty obvious to me now what it will be:

SF

federer v nadal
blake v roddick

I'd say that rafa could definitly beat federer in the SF, but in 3! A kind of doha final-like match wouldn't surprise me at all!

As for the other semi, I'd choose roddick in 2 if he plays the way he did yesterday.

For the final, I'll have to go with roddick! I can't see rafa beat him on that surface!

What's the scenario if Nalbandian defeats Roddick? Does he need to beat him in 2 to have a chance? I guess that also bring Ivan in the pic since he beat Nalbandian.

 Let me get this right~> you expect Nadal to beat Federer in the SF on the Spaniard`s worst surface & one of the Swiss`s best & then you think Roddick will smock Nadal in the final:eek:

Therefore World Rankings should be:

1. Roddick
2. Blake
3. Nadal
4. Federer

Smock is written "smoke" and look at their USO 2004 match. Besides look how badly Rafa fair against Big hitters on fast courts.

Exactly nor should you count out Dave or Ivan.

I think the lineup will be Federer vs Nadal and Blake vs Roddick

Federer will defeat Nadal (Nadal is still way too far behind the baseline and Federer will punch through it - though it may take a third set).

Roddick should handle Blake - I think the occasion will get to Blake and he'll not play his best.

Federer to defeat Roddick in 4 in the final.

Ivan is counted out , he was is on dead run , he played almost 6h in two matches and he desn't came to TMC fully fit, but if he beats Roger in two (maybe TBs :D) and Roddick beats Nalby in two(very possible , Nalby is out of form, and unfortunatly has some family problems   ) so Federer would be out of TMC maybe his arrogance will lower after something like that.

Nadal is favourtite to end no.2 in Golden Group, he will dominate Davydenko mentally, and his game suits Davydenko game, nadal will make him run from one corner to another

seriously? :) by all accounts ljubicic is not at his peak. Roger whilst not having been as dominant here as he could be IS physically fit. on top of which Ljubicic is a Federer pigeon. You have to go all the way back to 2003 prior to Roger becoming no 1 to find a Ljubicic win. I would rate the chance of hell freezing over or the second coming of jesus (and u have to take into account I don't believe in jesus!) as more likely than a federer loss to ljubicic tomorrow.

so now we have

fed v nadal
nalbandian v blake

I think fed v nalbandian would be more competitive but I suspect it will be blake v fed in the final.

Nalbandian will beat Blake should they meet. Tactics wise, I have never seen any player as good as Nalby, even better than Fed. He just does not have a good serve or a good head. If he could even have one of them, preferably the head, he should be top 2 or at worst top 3. The guy has all the shots as well just like Fed and Safin. Nobody controls the center of the court better than Nalby and he is the best returner in the game IMO.

I agree that Nalby is a tough match up for James. I fancied Blakes chances more against Ljbo or Roddick as he can deal with their serves and is superior on the baseline. However, James has showed lots of guts in this tournament and if he can hang in the match long enough I think that could be good enough jugding how weak mentally Nalby has been in all his matches to date.

Yea but i remember this very well. In dubai, he was quite far behind the baseline for most of his matches and he even did that when he lost the first set. And guess what he did in the second and third set...:)
