Stupid Polls on GM Board...

sigmagirl91
03-02-2004, 03:34 PM
They're at it again-stupid people who know nothing about tennis posting about "who has the best body" (currently David ranks third, if you don't include the "other") and now "who has the most kissable lips" (David is tied with Safin for the lead in this category). Really now, why doesn't someone post something more substantial, or better yet, move the polls to its own location so that those who have something more substantial to contribute can do so without the clutter.

ditto!
Shall we make this a sort of petition? lol...

sigmagirl91

Sure, we should....

jazz_girl
03-02-2004, 03:49 PM
They won't stop, that's for sure, but maybe the moderator can create a new subforum just for that kind of polls...what do you think?

Shadow
03-02-2004, 03:50 PM
totally agree. its so annoying!

Kristen
03-02-2004, 03:51 PM
I hope so... some people have already asked about them altering the polls.. but, even though someone (a moderator) replied...it hasnt been fixed yet :(

sigmagirl91
03-02-2004, 03:55 PM
Should I go on these polls, make an ass of myself, and then leave-just to make a point. BTW, I did vote that David does have the most kissable lips, if that means anything....

Kristen
03-02-2004, 04:02 PM
lol... no dont leave... maybe we should all just hassle the moderators a bit if they dont fix it in the next day or two. And I understand about still voting, when it frustrates you... I still put down massu for best chest (well, entire body) after my big rant! ;)

I usually subscribe to the "if you dont like it, ignore it and it'll go away" school of thought, but truem there are just waay too many juvenile polls popping up on this forum as of late :fiery: they're almost as irritating as that Eternal Sticky on GM :fiery:

Hey Sigmagirl - when you get a chance - check your PM and be VERY afraid

I rather like your idea of moving all the polls to a separate forum jazz_girl. I've seen it done on other message boards before and it makes life a lot easier for everybody. Why don't we ask for that? The moderators might consider it. :D

Kiara

Cherry, you can get a pop-up stopper..download the google toolbar it's the best one.

As for me, I think these polls are really funny... I'm curious what's coming next, "Who has got the best butt"?? Then I'll vote for David of course! lol

LOL! I would vote for him too! But I think they should be in a different forum, or posted in the off-topics forum cause, let's face it, they have nothing to do with tennis!

Yeah David is alright. He pisses me off because he usually beats Jarkko (ok so he didnt this time - yay! - but wait til a grand slam! pfft Dammit he's a good player). He seems ok. Not even in my top thirty but I have nothing against the guy. And he's so pretty. You guys have great avatars! Ilhame, who's yours? It reminds me of kimi raikonnen?

So true - it happens to the football managers here all the time. No matter how well their team is doing, if they have one bad result (even if it is because of a players' injury), then people start to criticise them. Guess it kind of goes with the job.

It's the same with football here, everyone is an experct in the subject and all of them(journalists and fans) think that they can do a better job than the coach...

Actually, my early 20s were the best time of my life. I had independence and old enough to do everything but I didn't have the responsibilities of paying a mortgage, kids, work...The best of both worlds!

Kristen
03-07-2004, 12:18 PM
And it applies to tennisy things too. I'm not the type of fan that yells out "I LOVE YOU JONAS!!!" But, I believe it'd be heaps easier to get away with it in your younger years (you look less tragic ;)) Me, I just start crying when jonas and pimpim win their dc match. lol! In front of Jaslyn Hewitt *moving on*...

Just have fun & get away with stuff while you can;)

Yeah, this time of my life is good also. I live with my Dad, he's more like a mate when you reach your 20's, and besides... I couldn't bear to part with my darling Cody! (My dog!)
I have a lot of freedom at this age and the only weird thing I think, was the transition to "adulthood" (WTF!) where you start to wonder about saving money for a house/travel/car etc. Luckily, I'm a greenie, so I'm a fan of public transport.

But, if I want to remain living in Sydney, the houses around here are selling for around half a million. That's a lot of money, for small-ish houses, 30-45 minutes away from the city centre! Maybe I will move to Adelaide! Its sweet there. Plus they have a tournament so I wouldnt miss much ;) Guys, don't freak out about hitting these little milestones... maybe wait til your mid-life crisis for freaking out ;) My only advice... If you go to university, choose subjects you might actually enjoy a little! (Took me a while to learn this. I put myself through three years of hell learning about agricultural stuff  LOL! Back to Daveed... ciao!

Bjorkman_girl..great advice! I'm in my mid-late twenties now, and I when I hit my 40s, I don't think I'll ever feel 'old'. I always say that if you spend time worrying about age, your youth will pass you by!
Yes back to David! LOL!

Well, I've never EVER yelled to a player, (I'm talking about support! not insults!) but for the first time in my life, in the ATP Bs As I started yelling at Moyá! LMAO!!! I started now that I'm 20, this is insane. And I don't know who said this, but it's true, not having the teen ending is terrifing!

You're so right!!! That's the best advice you can give. I've been lucky, because I found a career that has a wide range so I can choose from different jobs, but I have some friends that are studying, and will have to keep on studying for another 4 or 5 years and are not sure on what to do. I'll finish my career this year, and although I don't have a job right now, I know I have a ot of possibilities and that's conforting.

Ah, I wish I was still in my 20s. This time is a perfect time for all of you in your 20s to get an education, pursue your careers, save money, and really enjoy yourselves-all without pressure to get married and raise a family.

That's true, I still find it quite hard being 20, but I guess it'll be different next year, I'll be off school and I want to get a job and start having some independency. And that's a great idea sigma, I'll start writing what I wanna do and then I'll do it! It's kind of silly, but I always wanna do a lot of things and then I end up doing nothing, so this year I think I'll make a list and put it up on my bedroom's wall so I can see it all the time! LOL!
