My god it's not his fault he is injured... The last thing Mark would want is to be missing these challengers. He wants to qualify for the aus open, and im sure mark is very frustrated and disappointed right now.
I hope mark has recovered and is playing this week.

Why are you "stunned" fee?
No one would be more frustrated and annoyed by having to withdraw then Mark. He's made it very clear he wanted to play these challengers to get ranking points. Injury has forced him out over previous weeks. what can he do???
Hopefully he has a good week and keeps building up his confidence. GO MARK!!

I'm glad that you are so in tune with what he's thinking. Please keep us posted.
I base it on what he's been saying (and reported) repeatedly over the last few months Fee...
Philippoussis, a native of Melbourne, turned 30 Tuesday, but the day was lowlighted by informing tourney officials he was pulling out. “It’s unfortunate, because he really wanted to play,’’ said tourney official Rocky Adcox.
Last month...
Philippoussis, could be retired by now. He has an accomplished 13-year career that includes 11ATP titles, nearly $7 million in earnings and victories over tennis icons Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi and Roger Federer.
Instead, he's grinding it out in a Challenger event for a $7,200winner's check.
"It's not about the money, It's about the points. This is a stepping stone for me to get back to where I was."
"My goal is to get into the top 100 for the Australian Open and not have to rely on a wild card. That's my short-term goal. I'm looking at these challengers just as a steppingstone…. "

The woman who answered said they would be posting scores to their website later. She said Mark Philippoussis won the first set in a tiebreak but lost the second, then Mark's opponent had to retire in the third. So just to make sure, I asked, so Mark's opponent, not Mark, retired, and Mark won? And she said yes. She did not have any of the other scores or even the results of other matches because the board on which they were posted was not visible where she was.
So I don't know how much confidence you have in this (without seeing an official posting at the tournament site) but I thought I would share this news with you.

reason for odd on Dudi were his two victories this year 61 75 and 64 64 on Francis, outdoor hard. i know that only okun is so-so serious tennis player of israel tennisists, but not worrying for Dudi vs Francis, but perphaps Dudi thought in different way.
just no way to lose match vs. such player as Francis is - he is the worst of eight:mad:
