Hands down the award goes to Dima for his Gold Medallion entries, with an honorable metion for that "Good Kisser" shirt he was wearing over the summer.

Classic stuff, and IMO no one else came close to his style, humor, and wit. His blogs are the only ones that literally make me laugh out loud. :)

1. Dima (we all know why...)
2. Rogi (for his sense of humour)
3. Rafa (for his naitivety being kinda... cute)

Greatest disappointment: Nalby.

Best - Dmitry "my laundry is ageing like fine wine" Tursunov, of course - the guy is a writing genius.

Worst - David Nalbandian - he only did two entries and spent most of them telling us about what he was eating. So bad the ATP basically haven't including it in their list of past bloggers.

I'd give honourable mention to Roger "Captain Wasabi" Federer for his highly entertaining effort and his fascination with Japanese toilet technology.

federer was the most interesting and humorous for me. i thought dima's blog long, manic, and overrated.

This thread should be about the silver award. The gold one was awarded when Tursunov made his first blog post.

Feli's was so bad I am almost doubting whether or not to rate NalbandÝan's higher than his.

tursunov has hilarious and the stuff he keeps dong for the atp website is wicked. at least he now knows that if his tennis career goes tits up he can be a comedian.
safin's blog was just so random, but then again he's just a random guy. very misunderstood.
fed and nadal also did good work, as did the bryan bro's.

Maybe Fat Dave should be forced to finish his for the MC. Like schoolwork he's forced to finish his before he can play

Obviously Dima wins by far. Other picks will be tainted by personal preference to certain players but I would say the Roger/Marat and maybe Nadal blogs were after his.

Awesome blogs:
Kolya Davydenko- I love him anyways but I think he suprised a lot of people with his blog...his girlfriend taking off with his credit card and he hasn't seen her since...the hilarious pictures that accompanied it.

Rafa- I thought his personality really came through. He seemed so sweet.

Feli Lopez- he's hot. Plus, he came across kind of a shy, normal guy...it was suprising. No mentions of hair products or tips. lol He's one of my favorite players so I have to vote for him.

Mardy Fish- simply for the fact he mentioned James Blake every chance he got...even what James ate for breakfast. lol

Fed- you really got a look at what his personality is like. He seems so nice and funny.

Honorable mentions:
ToJo
Max Mirnyi
Jonas Bjorkman
Tommy Robredo
Marat Safin
Elrich/Ram

Brought shame to bloggers everywhere:
David Nalbandian- No contest whatsoever!!!!!!

Ferrero Forever

Lopez

Tursunov, hands down the funniest. i found rafa's a little bit boring. and i'm tempted to read marat's. everyone is mentioning it so much.

yeahright
11-12-2006, 09:28 AM
tursunov, most definitely!

i liked marat's but i'm a safin fan so you could probably chalk that down to bias. :D oh, and in some odd way, i also liked davydenko's blog. i found his photos quite funny, especially the one wherein he's dressed as a warrior.

Some of my fave quotes..

Mario must have called me twice a day for the next four weeks. No-one is happier to see me back playing than Mario

We are the champions! The Croatian flag will again be flying on top and our national anthem will be played.

We also played hide and seek, and Max hid behind the same curtain every time, totally impossible to find!

Dima obviously deserves the Goldie simply because players felt obligated to do a better job after his blog...but props to Nalby for not conforming :p

carroll
11-12-2006, 12:17 PM
yeah Dima and Marat too and then maybe Rafa

Naranoc
11-12-2006, 12:30 PM
props to Nalby for not conforming :p

 By only writing two measly entries when he should have written five? Either he wasn't conforming, or (more likely) he just couldn't be bothered!

In my roll of honor:
1) Tursunov's -- for the sheer gift that he has for blogging.
2) Roger's -- for the sense of humor and honesty.
3) Marat's -- for random and disjointed thoughts that are just priceless (the more beautiful a woman, the more money she needs etc.).
