I know it's still very far in the future, but the ticketdraw/complication starts this monday. The past two years it's always been a fun experience, and yes I mean that in a sarcastic way, to obtain the desired tickets. So this will become the place to talk about tickets and travel to Paris in 2007!:D

Here's the site that this year actually looks a little bit less confusing:

http://www.fft.fr/rolandgarros/default_en.asp?id=

Good luck everybody. When are you all thinking of going so I can coordinate with you guys? So maybe this year we will get to meet. Especially important that my boy will have a playmate in Michael so he won't bother us when we are supporting the David.:D

I think we will be flying into Paris from CR and spent the first 4 days there. We'll fly on to Amsterdam after that so at least we've had a bit of a vacation before the madness begins. I also have a "studyday" the 12th of June.

No definite dates yet, but I have a friend from the States who is going to be there for the 1st week, so I think I'll be arriving on the Saturday (Benny Berthet Day) and staying til the following Thursday or Friday so I can be there roughly the same time as her.

Sorry to gatecrash the Ferrer forum :scared:

It's the charity day on the Saturday before the the tourney starts, they usually get some high profile players and some legends on the court for a bit of a knock....

I understand the link thing should be fixed very shortly if it isn't already - I phoned them a short while ago because it was annoying me  and they told me it was an error when they first set up the system.

As for Benny Berthet Day Puschkin - I don't think tickets for that go on sale til the New Year sometime - then you can buy them online from one of the French ticket portals like "Ticketnet" or "France Billet" and they send them out to you.

Sue I agree. She doesn't quite look as bad as Sly's mother. Mrs. Stallone is really a freak of nature, as are her sons. Tia Sonia just has a Latina sense of style. :p

And maybe Adam can explain to me what is so special about Carla Coria. I saw her this year in Miami sitting next to the practice court while her husband trained, looking very bored and very much like 70% of the girls I see daily.

Rant no.1

Ok I've just gone to book, I wanted to try and book tickets for the men's final and semi final on the very off chance that I get them....As I highly doubt I'll get anything, I wanted to book show court tickets for a couple of days in the first week, but I get this message.

The maximum number of days has been exceeded.
You can book a maximum of 4 seats per day over 2 days at the most for the three main courts.

Rant no.2

There's not many things I find good about Wimbledon's ticket policy, but at least they don't force you to buy the tickets. I want to apply for quite a lot of days just to guarantee myself something, but I didn't realise I give them my card details now and I think the total if I got all the tickets would be about 1000 euros

So anyway, for anyone that's done this before...any idea what the likelihood I'll actually get tickets is? Say for Lenglen the first Tuesday and Friday, and maybe ground pass on Monday and Thursday or something (I'm thinking of taking Wednesday off to go shopping, I believe it's kids day :scared: )

" Wednesday - Lenglen
" Thursday - Grounds Pass

I got them all except Lenglen.

The day that you'll have the most problem with is probably the first Monday -grounds passes for that day went first last year!! And the first Tuesday could also be a problem. The later days should be OK I think. And - yes - I think the Wednesday is Kids' Day - also some kind of special day for FFT Members - best avoided. What will happen with your credit card - is they will only take the money for the tickets they have allocated you - not all of them - whereas in the "old days" they took the entire amount for everything you asked for and then refunded you the difference......... some kind of scam to make interest on your money for a few extra days I believe

Don't worry too much - if you do get everything you asked for and you don't want any of them, - there are always people desparate for RG tickets about 3 weeks before. Ask around here or sell them on eBay

Maybe I'll amend my schedule to ground pass for Tuesday and Lenglen for Thursday and Friday. The only problem would be if I got the ground pass for Tuesday and nothing else, it would be barely worth going. Oh I don't know, I'm beginning to sound like my friend who annoy everyone with his indecisiveness so I'll shutup now :tape:

Sue I agree. She doesn't quite look as bad as Sly's mother. Mrs. Stallone is really a freak of nature, as are her sons. Tia Sonia just has a Latina sense of style. :p

And maybe Adam can explain to me what is so special about Carla Coria. I saw her this year in Miami sitting next to the practice court while her husband trained, looking very bored and very much like 70% of the girls I see daily.

LOL * Latina sense of style * is right, my friend.

I feel similar, with the uncertainty of their scheduling this all develops into a lottery. But good news first: I applied for Centre Court middle Friday and Monday and I got it this year. A friend of mine was less lucky and got Lenglen for Saturday and Sunday middle weekend instead of the CC wanted.

That's how they scheduled this year:

Sunday
CC: Federer, Safina, Mauresmo
Lenglen: Robredo, Bartoli, Nalbandian, Sharapova
Court 1: Sugiyama, Henman, Benesova, Moya

Monday
CC: Schnyder, Grosjean, Santoro, Klijsters, Nadal
Lenglen: Gaudio, Dechy, Gasquet, Williams, Vaidisova
Court 1: Ferrero, Rezai, Davydenko, Kuznetsova

Tuesday
CC: Hingis, Monfils, Henin, Safin
Lenglen: Myskina, Golovin, Mathieu, Roddick
Court 1: Rochus, Groenefeld, Kirilenko, Hewitt

I know that this all means nothing, as the draw won't be ready early enough for us, but it seems as if the early days are packed with Frenchmen ;)/women on CC.

I guess it is a case of "familiarity breeds contempt" - and if you live in London it is just another grey, dreary, dirty place where you go to work to pay for your tennis trips! My son is going to be Wimbledon champion at the age of 17. So if you wanted to be the mum, you'd have to get cracking soon, I don't want my poor boy to have a wrinkly old woman cheering him in his box  :p

:smooch: Well if you want your son to be born when you're 25 you'd better get cracking. :p Unless you're going to have a whirlwind romance with the future mother.

Just don't name your son Champ please. :o

I think I might have to reanalyse that aim, I'll be 25 in two and a half years :scared:

I've gone off Champ, although it would be an awesome name for the headline writers, I think we'll go for something more normal. I like Josh ;)

Murray isn't my hero :ras: my sporting heroes are Muhammad Ali and Tiger Woods. Tiger is a cool name for my son, even if it isn't his real name :p

I won't mention my non-sporting heroes for fear of humiliation :sobbing:

Oh go on - you can't tell half a story! Tell us your non-sporting heroes - I'm very bored at work and I could do with something to take my mind off the monotony. Surely Murray is your tennis hero though  Or is it still that French guy...........? And I think Josh is a far nicer name than Muhammed or Tiger!!!! :p

Btw - in the interests of equality - if you only have daughters - will you want them to win Wimbledon too?

I've got the day off today :rocker2: I was supposed to be playing tennis but my mate let me down, so I'm trying to pluck up the energy to go to the gym and failing miserably as of yet.

Well, musically, they'd have to be Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury, both who could admittedly be labelled slightly barmy :o

Who could forget William Wallace, did you know Braveheart is 100% fact? :p

George Best also gets a mention. Partly for his football and partly because of quotes like:
"In 1969 I gave up women and alcohol - it was the worst 20 minutes of my life."
+
"I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered."

Daughters  you must've missed my several posts about this topic. I'd love a daughter, if she takes her looks from her dad she'd be an absolute princess. The thing is, I can't deny I'd be gutted if my first child was a girl. I have no interest in a WTA #1, I'd rather she was a porn star (not really :p ). The plan is for my first child to be a boy, 2nd to be a girl, and 3rd to be a boy. I'd settle for that. If it doesn't happen that way, then I'll give the kids to Madonna or something (that was also a joke :p )

Ok this post is getting way too long and you'd probably rather you were working rather than reading this pile of tripe by now

*Ljubica*

Your words of wisdom could never be described as tripe :) As to your choices - well - I agree with Freddie Mercury - that's not barmy - he had real talent and I have loads of Queen CDs. Michael Jackson though is - erm - barmy in my opinion :p

George Best looked exactly like my mad Scottish ex (the one that put me off all Scotsmen apart from you for life!) - but I guess he was a great player. Not that I know much about football - but my Dad told me he was!!! You know - my dad - the ARSENAL supporter :p

As for the kids - well I guess you won't be able to do much about that - though genetic engineering may have made choosing the sex possible by the time you get round to having any! And I probably did miss your previous posts on the subject - I've had far too many rows on MTF with one particular poster, whose nauseating views on women and having daughters are slightly archaic to say the least  So I tend to avoid "Non-Tennis" and threads with that kind of subject matter - he annoys me too much!!!

OK - better try and get some work done now! And get down that gym - you need to keep that body of yours perfect for all your admirers!!

Oh god don't get me started on Graham Poll :fiery: :armed: :retard:

We were rubbish anyway, absolutely no fight. They should've got me out on the pitch, I would've put up a better fight than most of the fancy dans in our team :(
