Hrbaty career hangs in the balance
Monday, 06 November 2006 10:15
Beaten Paris Masters finalist Dominik Hrbaty has admitted an elbow injury could spell the end of his career.
The world number 21 was brushed aside in straight sets by Nikolay Davydenko on Sunday and immediately sought doctors' advice on the troublesome joint after the match.
The Slovakian has opted to rest until January's Australian Open instead of going under the knife, but he knows his career could soon be over.
He said: 'I am happy I do not need to have an operation. On the other hand, it could be the end of my career if there are any complications.
'I will probably make some changes in preparation for the 2007 Australian Open - I will not work so much on my tennis.'
