Hi guys.

Please can you tell me which European TV stations show LIVE tennis. I'm based in the UK and we only get live tennis through Sky Sports and Eurosprt. This means ourt coverage is pretty limited and I want live action every day.

I am looking to buy a new satellite system for this but need to know which TV stations show live tennis first.

Thanks for your help......

Limited? As far as I Know with Sky Sports you already have the best European (Pay) TV Channel when it comes to showing Live Tennis. Not only do they cover the Masters Series and Davis Cup, they also show smaller tourneys.
If you want more Tennis, try to get ESPN Classic to watch old GS matches.

Of course, if you are willing to buy a system where you can easily access different satellites, then you would be able to watch those FTA feeds which are often available on different "Air Bird" satellites. The problem is that those are always on different satellites and channels, so you would need to check Satellite Forums to be up to date.

That Eurosport France stream on PPLive should still work. There was a link in the Vienna thread or something if I remember correctly.

Who knows, maybe there is even a Eurosport stream on the eurosport.com site

Thanks for the replies guys.

Sky do indeed cover the masters series but not that many smaller tournaments from week to week.

I'm looking for the stations which show the small events eg: I'm pretty sure STV in Sweeden showed live games from the Stockholm open a few weeks back.

Also, Eurosport France do show more live games than the Eurosport available in the UK.

Anymore advice much welcomed.....

Eurosport is crap , it's becoming WTA private channel but girls tennis is usually extremly boring. Eurosport has 3GS but no TMS no Wimbledon no TMC which is bad because they used to show TMC. They have some smaller tournaments (Quenns, one more grass tournamnet, Lyon, Vienna ). Fortunatly my national TV shows rest of tennis (all TMS , Wimbledon. TMC) and it is pretty cheap (about 14 $ a month with Eurosport , Eurosport 2 and ESPN Classic - there are some old nice matches there ) but they sometimes go crazy, for example one day during Bercy on theirs two sports channles they showed exacly the same volleyball match live:eek: which was very weird insted of TMS Paris 2 matches. But I do not compalin because I have alomst every tournamnet live for very low price.

Have you heard of The Tennis Channel?

I think if you can hook up with them, then you'd prolly get feeds all day and night. Sorry I can't give enough info though since I don't know how that works.

....

Totally disagree, the coverage is not limited at all.

Every Masters event is covered very well by Sky. They have a live DC tie in Europe every WG round, as well as the final. Sky also have rights to a few other ATP events like Rotterdam, Nottingham and Bangkok. And USO of course.

Eurosport have signed a recent improved deal with WTA, so they don't show as much ATP as they used to, but they still show a fair amount. They have rights to AO and FO. They do a poor job with FO.

As far as the other tournaments go, this year Eurosport have had live coverage on most days from Doha, Marseille, Dubai, Valencia, 's-Hertogenbosch, Washington, New Haven, Vienna and Basel. They usually have Queens too, but I imagine UK viewers watch BBC's coverage rather than Eurosport's because ES has intermittent coverage.

If I recall, early in the season they showed the Murray matches v Hewitt and Roddick in San Jose. They had a very tiny bit of Palermo this year, they had more of it last year but WTA got in the way. I'm trying to think back to what they had last year that they didn't this year - Gstaad, Beijing.

All in all in the UK, I think we get a pretty good fill of Tennis (both ATP & WTA), although I wouldn't complain if there was more.

I agree, ES is in general just a load of jumbled up junk.

One minute you're watching 2 fatties going at it, then just when you're getting used to it, they cut to a few guys in bright shirts on bikes halfway up a mountain, then just as the finish line approaches they cut to one motor sport, then another, then another and to end the day you get to see some winter sport.

hahaha, yes right you are.that's a pretty much of a good example of what a fuzzy channel they are in case of they're one of the popular and great sporting tvs in europe.i personally enjoy of watching them but not with such a sloppy schedule.just take a look at their schedule page,u'll see(for instance)there's a 330 mins of live tennis action on tomorrow, when it comes to tomorrow u'll find out that they'll show just 160 mins of it,and then two troll guys are just performing as sumokas!!! is a bit strange, though.
but for wta lovers it's just like a great business by ES responsibles!(huh?):worship:

In the UK tennis coverage is about as good as it gets on the one system anywhere in the world. In the US you need 2 or 3 different systems to get the same amount of coverage - here on Sky you can get Eurosport and pay for Sky Sports.

If you want any more than that then there's no choice but to install an expensive satellite system, probably one that can realign itself, to pick up the satellite signals from the other European satellites and then be able to get the schedules for these chanells to pick up the tournaments you want. And some tournaments just don't seem to be broadcast at all in Europe, unfortunately.
