I really would love to know what's up with him. Looking at his side of the draw, I thought he stood a really good chance of going far, too. He needs to get his head together big time, before he loses all confidence.

Henman Falls in Dubai
Tim Henman crashed out of the Dubai Tennis Championships on Monday when he lost a third-set tie-break to Czech qualifier Tomas Zib 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(4). Earlier, third seed Rainer Schuettler endured his fourth first-round defeat in five tournaments this season when he suffered a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 loss to German qualifier Philipp Kohlschreiber. Schuettler is a modest 2-5 on the season. Next up Mark Philippoussis plays Olivier Rochus.

Sjengster
03-01-2004, 05:27 PM
I do wonder what the hell is up with Henman if he's falling early to the likes of Zib (who gave him a tight match at Wimbledon last year, but that was mostly Henman's doing), but for once I'm not too disappointed. Chances are he'd have had to beat Nalbandian and make the final to gain any more optional points anyway, so he can rest and prepare for IW thoroughly. And Pavel will most likely make the quarters! But Federer had better take advantage of this opening now...

Provided they're just bitter and not contaminated. ;)

Let's not forget the huge number of examinations he's had to sit over the past couple of years according to Ceefax - the Spanish test, the Argentinian test, the Australian test, etc...

FiBeR
03-01-2004, 05:56 PM
With all my respects.. I think Tim can be a real good player.. But he's got a SERIOUS problem..

I don't think this is the case, but overall.. Every time someone beats him, he develops some kind of respect-fear that every time they face again, he's just like waiting to be beaten..

Take Nalbandian, Cañas.. every time he plays to someone who has beaten him.. he acts like if he wasn't sure of himself, or dunno.. like with so much respect or something..

He should just play .. he cares too much about rankings I think.. I can't explain it in another way if not.. :)

Corey Feldman
03-01-2004, 06:01 PM
he has players who have the game he does not like to face, fast players who can hit alot of angles (ie canas, nalbandian as you said, hewitt as well) he beat Zib twice in 2003 also, im not sure he cares about the rankings to much, because his schedule is lazy, he does not play many tournaments now

jumi

Corey Feldman
03-01-2004, 06:03 PM
mentally henman has gotten weak again, all he needed was 1 tie break to defeat ljubicic, canas and now zib in 3 mattches this year, he has blown them all, these 7-6 in the 3rd set losses are getting painful, sometimes you feel it may be nicer to take if henman loses 6-2 6-1 or something :)

armaniman
03-01-2004, 06:06 PM
you can see fear on henmans face in tight situations, i dont know what it is but its in his eyes.

he does something great to break serve then 9 times out of ten drops his serve straight away as his mind is not 100% on the next task in hand

armaniman
03-01-2004, 06:08 PM
he seems to excel himself in some davis cup matches if he played in slams like he did against el anouyia in the morocco tie in 2003, he would be a slam winner by now.

03-01-2004, 06:09 PM
henman has won ALOT of close matches as well, look at his wimbledon record, but he has won alot of tight matches too, in the last 3 rnds at paris tms last year , he dt federer 7-6 6-1 roddick 7-6 7-6 pavel 6-2 7-6 7-6, so he shows he can win these big tie breaks under pressure as well, just is having no damn luck in 2004 so far .....

2) Philipussy's out?! well.. too bad! I wouldn't have expected it..

3) LOL ! Yeih!!! Henman's nose is like a rooster crossed with an eagle... it's just.. like popcorn..

it's got no shape! It's long, flat , thin .. I don't know.. His parents really worked their butts off to come up with such a bizarre masterpiece, don't u think so?

heheh DID HE DID WHAT in wimbledon 1993? hahahahaha LMAO!!! I didn't know!(i was like.. mm.. 9 years old!:P i cant recall)..

LoooooL! Poor chick! Smashed by henman's power!

Well..I do remember Coria doing something like that last year.. and also, Nalbandian vs Henman, at wimbledon, he just hit a ball boy quite hard, which made me laugh a lot, last year too..

Oh.. I hope to see more of this.. LOL.. I would pay to see henman with those flowers!
What a cock(LOL)

he needs a big makeover for kids to want to be like him and get into tennis and idolise him

LOL!!! You're killing me!!! It happened to me once when I was visiting London on holidays with my sister.
She took a Prince Charles postcard, and stared at it, and a passer-by said "i don't think you want to buy that.. better leave it" (haha i still laugh at it)

Honestly.. who would like to look like Henman? Maybe if he changes his image and puts some make-up, and changes his last name to Chicken-Man, and enters the court dressed like a Big Yellow chicken (picture it.. with his ugly sad face, looking down, with a yellow chicken outfit with a red hat, and a tennis raquet on his hand) he will get more attention.. don't you think?

LOL! one more easy joke: I think today henman just chickened out!

adidas woudl love tim to look like beckham, if he did you would get so many tv ads with him in it.

last one i remember with henman was that cheesey soap powder ad where he gets arrested in sports shop, his acting was worse than crossroads.

You must be joking! No, in all seriousness here, most of his facial reactions were indeed rubbish, but that moment when he's first caught and says indignantly, "Don't be ridiculous!" is PRICELESS. The perfect aggrieved tone. If anything I think they should start trading ironically off Henman's completely unglamorous image, but that only works if you have absolutely stellar results to counterbalance it...

lmao i love it i love it

I agree with that as Lendl was miserable as sin and cold nothing personailty in the 80's but number one for so long and always seemed to work for him, he was the one everyone loved to hate and people loved beating him especially cos of his cold hardfaced image. Becker used to crease me up when he had swearing fit at back of court and he looked as if he was about to cry and in mini rage lol

at "acting worse than crossroads"!!

Yeah, I vaguely remember that ballkid incident of Tim's... and we thought he was the perfect English gent... :p

So what happened w Flip? Is he flipping out or what? If he continues like this, I don't know about his chances at Wimby...

..Quarters are 75 points.. so..why he dosnt has 1485 points..??

a that tournament result was consider in his best five results..

Please..I need the explanation of Someone who know about this things.

i dont think henman bought the bunch of flower for the girl out of kindness and guilt, i think it was more to do with his agents instructions and a publicity stunt lol he probably actually thought (well she shouldnt have been in the way) lol

i think you got everyone stumped here with that teaser lol

that boiled egg and sjengster are pretty good with the ranking system techniqualities, it cant be the comparsison to how he fared same time last year as i think that only counts in TMS / grand slams.

I have never agreed with the rankings they could be so much simpler as some guys appear to rarely play compared to others but always sit around the same ranking position.

They could do the draw for slams from a hat then it would stop all the players arguments about it being fixed by tournie committee and you wouldnt have clay courters refusing to play wimbledon as in the past.

LMAO at Hedgehog !! YOU SERIOUS??

so at wimbledon they close their eyes and draw names out hat and we could end up with all clay courters in one half and contenders in the other......you really want a potential hewitt v feder first round and we could end up with a ferrero v coria wimbledon final lmao !!!

IT COULD NEVER EVER EVER HAPPEN....the way its done might not suit all but is designed so you should get the best player on that surface against the other best players of that in the later stages.

no way would i want to see roddick v agassi 1st rnd of us open and seedings and draws have to be selected to prevent this
