Seriously! Both players refused to hold their serve in the 1st set! Amazing!
In the second we've seen another, but well-known side or Murray unfortunately :/

Andy...a bagel?

Did you see Gilbert in the stands? His neck has to hurt after shaking his head back and forth all match long. :p

Nice win for Hrbaty though, without his infamous shirt, of course. ;)

The crowd were expecting a quality match between Safin and Gasquet. Sadly this match was a very poor substitute.

Brad Gilbert's facial expressions in the second set :haha: :haha: :haha: I know he scouted Berdych's match this morning, so this was quite a disappointment for him.

Anyway, Congrats Hrbaty.

Really poor quality match with the occasional wonderful rally.

talking about faces, Andy's girlfriend looked even worse than Brad :) I think she was seriously considering her options...

See you next year then, Andy :)

Great season, limp ending but that'll soon be forgotten.

Typical Andy, might as well have faked an injury and withdrawn after that first set. He just can't be bothered to fight.

Murray is immature. Gilbert (or anyone else) should do sth with that. Otherwise, he'll become another talented guy that's never won anything big

Good job for Hrbaty! Hrbaty-Berdych. I think Berdyh will win it. :)

Murray was 2 for 9 on serve games won. What a disgrace to the ATP

And he was broken just once against Ljubicic -> Ljubicic is the real disgrace ;)

I'm really dissapointed in Murray.
I know exactly what Gilbert is saying.

Hrbaty hits as flat as a pancake.
If Murray can hold on in a rally, the errors will come, they always do from Hrbaty.
It's hard for him to hit down the line on both sides with his grip.
Murray should have been able to dismantle him with his court savy.
If it took an extra set then so what.

And what happened in Zagreb this year? I'll tell you if you don't know. Murray choked. He was up 1:0 in sets, and tahn Ljubo beat him!!:o

So what? Murray is several classes above Ljubicic, it´s only a matter of time ranking will show this

He didn't wanna be out there tonight. Only the prospect of possibly taking the first set got him interested.

Weird feeling after watching this, despite the scoreline I think this is the last time Hrbaty will beat Andy

Me too. :)

Still it's not like he lost to LaLo or something.

Murray said of his new coaching relationship with Brad Gilbert that he's not expecting any real results to materialize until the end of this year.

Looks like we'll have to wait until 2007 before we see any good results from him.

Congrats Hrbaty!

Brad Gilbert, shaking his head, and looking upwards, as if to ask God what was wrong with Murray was hilarious!

The worst match of the tournament - embarrassing.

No surprise for me, id said it yesterday that Hrbaty is to much of a wily old vet for a young, dead tired and not very motivated Muzza here.

2007 better prepare for a huge blast of the bagpipes when this kid is refreshed!!

Nice win for Hrbaty. He rarely produces memorable tennis but he does enough to win with enough frequency to be a succesful pro. Personnally I prefer to watch the dogged overcome the gifted - it makes it seem like all is right with the world. No matter how many future match-ups Murray wins he didn't win today and that's what really matters.

Looking at the positives... what a game he produced 6-5 down in the first set, the point he played 0-30 up was unbelievable.

When he was running to a well placed volley Hrbaty hit into the open court on murrays forehand, i thought no way- you actually think you can get that, why bother trying... just to hit the ball before it bounces and straight into the floor, if your lucky...BUT NO- he reached it full stretch and slightly behind him and just before he hit it, to gain a little balance he kind of leant on his racket, tapped the floor with it and with a flick of the wrist it flashed past Hrbaty... sheeesh what a pass and what an athlete. Point of the championship for me!

English never cease to amaze me when it comes to sports. The only two positives about that match was Murray didn't get injured and it's now over.

Congrats Dom, I would love to see Berdych-Murray but Andy seemed to be lacking motivation today and during the indoors season in general.

Well done Dominik :woohoo:
Obviously tired out Andy enough to bagel him! Now go and beat Berdych ;)
