Who do you want to see in Shanghai, Blake or Ancic

I would rather see Ancic. I think he has a chance to go far there. Blake would take the same role as Robredo. And that is as a punching bag.

I'd prefer Blake out of the two of them.

Blake, but it's not looking likely. It would be very interesting if he had to play Nadal...

Ancic. He deserves. He was injured for three months and he's still fighting for a Shanghai spot.

If he didn't get injured, he would be ahead of Davydenko.

Amazing how a person misses Toronto, Cincinatti, Monte Carlo and US Open and he can still qualify!

Neither to be honest.
They both will likely be outplayed. Ancic because he's tired from his run to get to Shangai.
Blake because players are figuring out his gamestyle.

How do you figure Blake is a punching bag and Ancic not? Blake has a very good record against the players who already qualified, beaten all of them except Roger.

Both...
I wish Mario all the best against Davydenko.

This is a tough one. I like Blake, and think he has an excellent power game but he's just so inconsistant, if he's just going to go there and lay an egg like he's been known to do so often in "bigger" matches there's really no point in him going. Ancic at least when he's playing well, and his serve is on, I think can give some players some trouble. Either way, Ancic has control over his destiny, so if he gets in, more power to him, he had the mental will to do what Blake did not.

Not really bothered - don't really like either of them much if I'm honest  But if forced to make a choice I would say Blake - he has more variety in hs game - whereas Ancic is primarily just another big server

Ancic for sure.

If only because I don't want to see Blake's face on every single advertisement, commercial and website picture.

The ATP site seems to be run by a Blake groupie. He's much more heavily featured than Roger and maybe even all the other players combined it seems.

And it's not just this year, by far his best, it's been like that for years.

i wanted to see both in shanghai, but now with the qualification of the useless robredo, one of them have to remain at home....so,i prefer blake, because he can put in difficult nadal...

Not sure tbh. I'd like Ancic to get through, seeing as he's been playing his butt off ever since his return from injury to get this far. Then again he doesn't have that great a h2h over the top 7 either (only has a winning record against Robredo), and it probably wouldn't make for some high quality competitive matches.

Blake has the ability to beat most of the players in Shanghai, but chokes in the big matches.

Ancic doesn't choke, but his h2h record against most of those guys is pretty dismal.

Tough choice, but I'd say Blake. When he's on, he's much more fun to watch; Ancic will probably tank either way, whether he chokes or not. But looking at Blake's current circumstance right now...he's pretty much screwed. Let's see how Davydenko holds up (But I doubt Davydenko will win, Ancic beat him twice this year).

I've heard, that James Blake unfortunately has not chances for MC in Shanghai in this year. He played through with Tommy Haas.

Both of them! And Robredo out! Robredo played more tournaments so that's why he has more points. (and I think he is a boring player to watch) But that's not what's happening. Oh well, then I pick Ancic!

Blake, just the chance he might play like he did against federer in the US Open QF. I know the New York crowd isn't there but still would be great. I like Blake more than ancic anyway.

Hmmmmm i voted Ancic but after just looking up his record against the other people in the race which is BAD, I wish Id voted for Blake. Ancic doesnt have a winning record against anyone (except Tommy :tape: )and is 0-4 against nalby and andy

I think Blake would have a bigger chance of winning a match or two. Thus voted for him.

If Davydenko beats Ancic...he'll be #3 in the world

And James Blake will qualify for Shanghai.

The one time I'm rooting for the half-dead starving cat. Go Kolya!

PS. Someone needs to start a Half-Dead Starving Feral Cat Hunt thread. heeeeere kitty kitty kitty :cat: ;) :p
