That was painful from Seba

Memories of that match against Moya in early 2000's in Paris where he was 5-1 up (i think) in the second and 3mps on serve and lost the match

Clueless from Seb..second set was bad enough but to go 40-15 then NOT LET THE BALL BOUNCE cost him big time. :o

Boredo spawns his way into the Masters Cup. Congratties.

Tommy also had a minor choke serving for the match, but at least broke back to win:p

Federer, Nadal, Roddick and Ljubicic should be delighted. They probably all looking forward to a player at the year end masters who they can all beat and is not in their class.

Bad news for all tennis fans. We are now likely to have a player at the master who will lose all his matches and provide little challenge to the top players.

Really depressing and sad news:sad:

I want players who can challenge Federer, Nadal, Roddick and Ljubicic. Not a player who sees these players on the other side of the court and decides to lose.

Fuck, what a useless piece of shit grosjean is, he went down the french way by fucking choking, what a tool, thanks to him fucking robredo is going to shanghai, fuck no one wants to see the most undceserving top 10 player and his 4-20 records vs top ten in shanghai, Thank you grojean.

Even worse is the fact that next up is the biggest choker on tour Mathieu, there is no way mathieu beats robredo he will probably be up 6-2 5-1, 40-0 and find a way to choke the game away. Fuck robredo and especially fuck grosjean what a moron.

Red-French chokers of the day :o
6-3, 5-7, 4-6 (after leading 5:2 in second)
6-7, 6-7 (after wasting set point in first tb)
4-6, 6-3, 4-6 (after 2:0, 30-0 in third)

P.S.
Serra and Santoro wasted match points in the first round. Poor French crowd in Bercy.

Maybe. But many high quality players are ranked low too, if you look at Safin, T.Johansson, Kiefer etc. so it evens out.

It amazes me that only one poster in this entire thread so far has admitted that Robredo did up his level and play tremendous tennis in the latter half of that match. Yes - Grosjean did choke - but also, after playing such sublime tennis in the first half on that match, his level naturally dropped (not many people can keep up that level for an entire match unless it's Federer) and Robredo's went up correspondingly and he fought for every point. I'm actually amazed how much the Robredo "hate" is so strong here on MTF- don't think I'd ever noticed it that much before

I agree with you. People are overreacting. Personally, I don't really mind Robredo going to Shanghai. I respect the fact that he is fighting for it, contrary to others (:cough: Marcos :cough: ) and he seemed very fired up today (at least during the 2 games I managed to watch). It's not his fault Grosjean choked. He took advantage as he should.

Fabulous fightback from Robredo to come back from 2 breaks down in the second and a break down in the final set. I didn't think he had the balls, to be blunt.

Yes Grosjean choked on it but in no small part thanks to Robredo playing some excellent points, especially on the second serve and really putting Grosjean under extreme pressure.

Fabulous match all round - had everything. Amazing points, shit tennis, chokes, drama, breaks all over the place...terrific stuff and well done to Tommy Robredo for taking it in both hands and demanding to win.

I agree - seconded only just by Safin's choke to Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo in Rome.

But the 20 DFs Guille served too tips it over the edge as the best choke of the year.

I haven´t see the match, but from what I have heard Tommy really showed great fighting spirit and when he wins a match by this, I think he needs a little more respect. There would have been enough players who just would have given away that match....

I really hope Tommy will qualify for Shanghai and if he will, this means he has played good enough to be in that final with the other top players. So what is the question about? It is not that he would have got his place by mistake or something!
And if Tommy qualifies, I would love to see him winning against guys like Roddick ;)
