I'm 18 and undecided as of where to live someday soon. Here is what I'm thinking:

England:

pros-
*English Language
(I only speak English, so the transition would be much easier)
*Accent and the Men
(yea it's a huge turn on for me)
*London
(love it's history and the allure it has)

con-
*Pop Culture
(Queen 'whatever her name', Prince Williams the many, David Beckham, freakin SOCCER)
*Cold weather

Argentina:

pros-
*the Men
(If mens tennis is any indication of the men in argentina... )
*the weather
(I hear it's very warm all year round there, right?)

con-
*Spanish speaking
*civil war
(yea, I think DYING is a major turn off for anybody ;) )

OK, I really don't know much about Argentina, I hope anybody could fill in more details for me, that would be nice.

I hate to be the downer but... dont forget real estate trends and prices...and job opportunity.

I'm aussie, and we have a lot of brits travelling here that often talk about how expensive london is...so maybe do a contiki tour there first ;) lol!

Just come and live in sydney...we have soccer (though not premier league), lots of other codes of football, we have a lot of tourists, so you get the accents, and our weather (aside from the last two days) is good! :P No war, though if John Howard isn't careful, who knows!

plus the transport system is awfull in london, every bus and train is packed with too many people, you get someones armpit in your face on the underground trains, you get beggers everywhere asking you for money, drinks are far too overpriced, theres pickpockets everywhere.

but the museums, madame tussauds, parks, cafes and nightlife are good lol

COme to Melbourne, it's almost the same as Sydney only less expensive.

That would be a con to me, really. Hate the hot weather; the sweating. That makes London a good place ;)

but the museums, madame tussauds, parks, cafes and nightlife are good lol

Madame Tussauds is actually quite poor, in my opinion. The British Museum alone is a good reason to move though.

London is very overrated, England is actually not that bad once you leave London.

British rail have four excuses for why their trains are late it's called Spring, summer, autumn, winter.

GWH, the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (Dutch rail authority) has those too. Autumn is their favourite. They say the wheels become square because of the leaves that fall.

If I were you, I'd go to Finland. I still have to, anyway :)

The Dutch railway isn't as bad as the crap they have in England.

Tell them in Finland you like Jari Litmanen then it'll be cool for you.

But I don't really like him that much :) He is always injured.. And I don't care for soccer anyway.

Have you experienced the Dutch railways? The stories I've heard of the British railway are worse indeed, but the Dutch version isn't too good either.

I do love Jari Litmanen! And Sami Hyypia! Reckon they'd like me in Finland? ;)

I went to London a couple years ago and really enjoyed it. Ok, things were a little overpriced and packed on the tube but if you like to be in a place where there is lots going on then Im sure you'd like it! There are lots of good eating and shopping places :)

lol I love Sydney, but I want a dual citizenship! I dont know where, but somewhere in Europe. All of these handsome men on the ATP circuit, they're doing a fantastic job representing their countries. I think I'm in denial about the possibility of regular guys **REGULAR... omg Regular Joe! Or Average Joe... I missed the final! *Runs to see who melena picked* Ooh Mr Jason Storm! Weatherman extraordinairre. Such a pretty boy. Ah well. They will make a good-looking couple for the estimated month or two they'll be together ;) :P I feel bad for the other guy, but he's rich, and Jason lives at home with his folks at 26? So, she cant be that shallow :O ah well! back to tennis :)

DUBAI

*Best standard of living in the world (or close)
*everything is cheap and salaries high, no taxes
*has everything
*they are building an Olympic complex including the one for winter Olympics (that's going to be indoor sadly, including the skii mountain)
*cheap tennis
*Blooming economy
*is going to have a monorail system soon.
* Soon will have Tier 1 tennis, although it already hosts a popular tourney
I lived here for 10 years and I want to live nowhere else. You might miss trees at first but you'll get used to it fast and would still have enough of them on holidays.

OMG no! don't come here (argentina). Really don't.

You'll have a hard time finding a job, really hard time. Beggers are everywhere, there's a lot of insecurity etc. The weather is okay, but not the best. And guys... well yah they're freakin hot lol but still, not worth coming here.

I myself am thinkin of moving to london when i grow a bit older cuz i really can't stand living here. Definetely go to London.
Besides, we have practically NO tennis tournament! And soccer is our main sport so... no i really dont think you'll like it over here, besides of the fact we speak spanish.

And yah i'm not very patriotic, i know

I just spent a week in London!!! It was fantastic, the sites were great and the public transport is great, but often my mum and I would think "why do the British do everything dumb"

come to Switzerland! Geneva and Zurich r the 2 most liveable of the world according 2004 official ranking (followed by Vancouver and Sydney). No crime, public transport is great and very punctual, public services in general work great, ppl r nice, friendly, salaries high and low taxes, a lot of foreigners (the 25% of population isnt swiss) so u could feel @ ur ease, in the middle of Europe, close to France, Italy, Germany, Holland, life is quiet, no noise, no traffic, but also a lot of clubs and restaurants, beautiful shops.
Just 1 con: life is very expensive so until u get a job, its difficult to live there with saved up money.
