WTF is with the Spaniards?

What's happening? Almost all are out (7), only Nadal still in the game. I can understand that JB, Davy and Ljubo lost, cause they had a MM tournament the week before, but the Armada? In front of their home crowd? While the court is not so fast?

I was just thinking the same thing but dont u thing the crowd isnt as boisterous and into it liek they were last year?? This year they just get into when an exceptionally good shot is played, then they carry on reading the papers:rolleyes: I must say, most of them probably arent tennis fans. Most of them probably just got tickets from their collegues and went out for the evening!

Madrid = Indoors
Spanish player = Clay

Only Nadal, Ferrero and Moya could have done something. Since Moya and Ferrero are clearly out of shape, only Nadal still can do something.

Verdasco should be on that list instead of fererro. He should have been able to beat henmann but he just isnt motivated

Ferrero won this tournament in 2003. Ok, he's not that good anymore, but he could have done something with some of his Cincy shape.

Verdasco was injured and lost all matches in indoors this year. Henman is super motived right now and I always thought Verdasco had no chances with these conditions.

Mauresmo only feels pressure in RG. She's pretty good in the other french tournaments.

That doesn't explain anything. Look at the players they lost to. Of coure I don't mean Navarro-Pastor or Fraile, but one could expect sth more from Ferrer or Ferrero, seeded players

Clearly, Mauresmo is the only player who feels pressure playing at home.

I don't know how it was last year, I just remember a great banner with the word 'GRAZIAS' on the tournament's site after Nadal's victory. But come on, folks watch'em, family watch'em, the tournament's winner will become a local hero at least for a while, so they should eat the court to win
