Eurosport didn't show the first set :( but the 2nd was very good quality. After Melzer went a break up, Andy came alive and hit winners off both wings. He was returning every serve and getting a good rhythm on Melzer's serve.

Melzer tried to come into the net but this strategy was a disaster. Andy's backhand passing shot was :eek: on fire. He also hit at least three forehand passing shots, on the run. Andy continued his amazing form at the net. He hit some very difficult low volleys, sometimes at full stretch.

On this kind of form, Andy doesn't even need his serve.

I think sometimes Andy forgot that he was playing a leftie. Frequently Melzer would hit a 2nd serve to Andy's BH. Andy would then run round to hit a FH cross-court, right into Melzer's FH hitting zone. This happened at least three times when Melzer served from the ad-court.

I just saw that and was like :eek: what an odd stat. He said after the match that he had trouble adjusting to the leftiness for some reason but that's pretty funny lol. As long as he was hitting the ball well still, esp off his FH, tha'ts what's important :p
