Poor old Vinciguerra was up 6-4 *5-4 and served for the match.

But Tomas did what he knows best, and that is to make hard work of everything, but manage to get over the line in the end.

Vinci played great and so did Berdych.... Vinci wanted to win so much... i'll write a report in few minutes... kind of not feeling like doing it after such a match ending...

(and after meeting in the stands a certain person)

Vinciguerra can't volley. That's for sure.

Vinci not being able to volley, isn't exactly something that is a revelation.

Well he said playing Berdych would be a good test to see where he is at the moment, and he will be back in the top 100 soon enough as long as he is not injured.

Congrats Tomas, it was a tricky match for him, Vinciguerra failed to close it out in the second set.

Vinci got passive when serving for it and that doesn't work with the big boys.

I wouldn't mind Tomas losing today but it will be bad if he loses against Soderling, the winner of that match might very well win the tournament.

Söderling and Vinci match would have been more interesting, as you know a bit of heat always makes things good.

Nobody among the Sweeds seems to love Soderling, he is definitely not the most popular man around. I am sure he is convinced that it is all their fault. I just hope Tomas takes him down tomorrow, he will make the top-10 if he goes at least as far as Gonzalez.

Well there was the DC fiasco in India last year, but they have got over that. He is a difficult guy for sure, not sure how to act around people.

It will be a big serving match for sure and they have played a few times, there will be no secrets there. Tomas needs to do as well in Madrid, then if he doesn't defend Paris, the loss of points won't be so bad.
