goooooo mardy goooooooo andy!!

As an aside, shouldn't they be playing some more doubles matches? I mean the Bryans have only played one match. Shouldn't they be playing Blake/Fish tomorrow? or am I missing something? LOL

The organizers are most likely trying ot give Mardy a break since he is American. Though, this is going to create a hectic weekend schedule if Mardy wins today.

nope, Domino, they've pulled out. James is sick. I just read it at the Memphis newspaper's site.

I just saw now. I don't really believe James is sick because he looked fine yesterday. I think he doesn't believe that they are ready to win against the Bryans, and both players realized that Mardy would be too wasted to play his singles match later, so they cut their losses short. I could be really stupid in saying this, but I have seen doubles players pulling out of the doubles on behalf of their partner who is playing the singles.

Just to clarify, i'm not being sarcastic. I'm saying... it's just Kroger St Jude, so it's no big deal if he loses here.

Thomas :bigclap: Does this mean he might be getting closer, little by little, to his old form? He's had a great week. Too bad he'll have to go down to Nicolas tomorrow  .

So aside from Dmitry blowing it and Xavier losing to, in a groove, Joachim Johansson...today was a great day.

I'll repeat what I posted on another thread:

Nicolas :woohoo: :woohoo:

I have never understood this logic  . So because it's a smaller tournament the loss should be treated differently? He was still going to get points and prize money (I know not as much as MS and Slams) and this still goes down as a loss.

And I just looked at the stats and what I find amusing is that, a side from DFs, Roddick looked to play a decent match. The kid just got outplayed :D . I know that's probably hard for some Roddick fans to handle but it does happen ;) .

I was merely being positive. I don't care either way if he lost today. I actually like Tompa, so I'm quite pleased with the result.

However, it is "just KSJ". Seeing as only 5 optional events count towards his ranking, losing early in one of them is NOT a huge deal. It's really not. He'll play what, like 10 optional events this year, if not more? So yes, he could have gained money and points here, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not the biggest deal in the world for a player like Roddick, who can bounce back and win Miami in a few weeks.
