Can the big swedes "Ill try to kill everything that comes at me" attitude be a winning tactic against the spaniard?

What do ya think?

(I think that he has a shot on a bigserving day..)

Nadal in 2. It is too much to expect JJ to win against Nadal right now.

Well, he can defeat Nadal if Rafa decides to go fishing (which is incredible thing in Sweden)

Have you seen PimPim's serve? I mean Bomb?

Nadal against big serves=:help: :help: :help:

Nadal also looking forward to next week with pressure on him and this is huge for PimPim and his comeback, will be playing in primetime in front of his home country, be careful Nadal.

I love them both, but Rafa more. I dont think JJ has a chance tho.

PimPim can beat him in the future but not in R2 of this event. Too soon to beat such a good player as Rafa.

Thank you :wavey:

I agree it will be very hard for PimPim to do it but stranger things have happened..this match MUCH bigger for JJ and Rafa has gotta be focusing on next week right?

So maybe, just maybe PimPim could do it, besides I would rather Rafa be ready for next week than win in Sweden Indoors.

yes, I have. great serve

but if Sanguinetti gets 8 games from him then be sure that Nadal will get much more

Joachim can certainly take a set in a breaker if he is serving well but Rafa will grind him down, I haven't seen him play for a long time but I can't believe that he is on top form having just come back from a huge layoff.

Rafa will have a lot of problems to break but he will win in straight tough sets . Joachim could disminish his level in the second set being easier for Rafa though

If he was at top form, he might have a shot against Rafi. But the serve isn't going to be enough, I don't think because eventually it breaks down.

Nah he wont win but it is great to see Joachim back playing again. Hope everything goes okay and we see him back in the top 20 soon!

I think will be a very very interesting match and I believe that Nadal can be in trouble only if joachim serve his best...

P.S. Will any TV channel , have the match live to watch it?

^ You can be sure he'll bring his best. Almost all players do against Nadal these days; playing the match of their lives

JJ has the game to beat Nadal but not right now. First set will be tight with Nadal winning the second one a lot easier. I'd be surprised if JJ even gets to break point.

Let the PimPim of 2004 play against Nadal then Rafa would be served out of the building  But even saying that, you have to be a bit careful because you don't beat a red-hot Ljubicic from last season on an indoor surface after 0-2 set to take the next three sets if you suck at what you're doing  (but I don't think Nadal is running such a form currently/already)

Maybe Johansson has a chance already in this match, I'm just not sure how to rate him. Normally Nadal should get his chances and convert them in the long term as he would probably be the player more consistent, experienced and in practice.

Does PimPim have a double-handed backhead, because at 6'6, Nadals shots will be likely coming into his hitting zone, and we've all seen Berdych and Nadals matches. Hmmm guess his form going into the match will show how well he can execute it.

Losing to Nadal may be the incentive he needs to retire. I'm afraid about this game.

Stockholm is much faster than Madrid's blue clay.

Faster than Madrid and Vienna yes. Still it doesn't change that Ljubicic was winning on every indoor surface during this period, no matter what it was. He didn't care if one surface is a bit faster, much faster, if it hardcourt or carpet, main thing he had a roof above his head. So it was still a good achievement for Nadal at that time.

That doesn't make sense. If the surface were really fast Nadal would stand no chance.

No double-handed backhand for PimPim, only exception would be he changed his style of play during his injury - which I doubt ;)

Youzhny doesn't have a double-handed backhand.

I still remember PimPims 50+ aces match against Agassi. I couldnt believe my eyes.
His serve and fh are huge if they're on, but he can be quite erratic with his fh.

No doubt his serve is huge and IMO it comes with better placement and angles than Roddick's or Karlovic's. His overall serving at his best would be also superior to Ljubicic, but I think Ljubicic has more variety regarding alternating the speed in his serves.

The 50+ aces were insane, but I believe the top four or five ace records for a match were all losses (Krajicek, Karlovic, Kuerten, Ivanisevic).

I think it's too soon for PimPim and the surface is probably too slow for him to mount a challenge.

But it is an interesting matchup. I'd love to see these two go toe to toe in full form. I don't think anyone really has the type of power PimPim has in his forehand and serve.

I do think that he can defenitly destroy rafa if his serve is on! He has a better serve than roddick (better angles due to his size) and a better forhand than many players. He is a bit like berdych with a better serve! I think he has exactly the right game to beat nadal bad. The only thing is it is maybe a bit early for him.

Come on lubjo was exhausted after such a great run (11th match in 13 days!!!) and now it will be a best of 3 sets not 5 so rafa won't be able to wear the guy out!!!

nadal was just lucky it was a best of 5 sets match!

Should be an interesting match with Rafa winning in either two tough sets or in three sets with the decider being a blowout.

No way do I belive that he will be bageled! JJ is on his way back into the game and one of the things that separates him from alot of other players, is his amazing serve. So even though this match will sure enough be a challenge for him, I doubt he will be bageled...unless he completely chokes in front of his home crowd  !
