Yep these slow starts are killing andy especially with that 1st serve %

At least he bothered to start playing in the second set which he had good chance in but I think we are still a year off consistency with him

Andy either loses 1st round or goes far

Jiri was being kind, he should have finished him off earlier.

Looks like Murray really wants to focus on his doubles now....
I was looking forward to the rematch, too.

i guess your right - Not wise but I think understandable considering he is spending a couple of weeks with his brother who he doesnt get to see much

Novak is a very good player and has done well here before though so dont want to take credit from him

I think seeded players often do not benefit from the Bye into the second round.

I agree...especially where they face the better opposition that wins through from R1.

Andy! :( Not a surprise that he lost, but he needs to start winning again :help:

I agree.. I know Murray's the seeded player, but I had a feeling Novak would win this.

With results like this, Brad better keeps his resume handy.

Andy needs to sort out his consistency, he's losing matches he really can't afford to if he wants to reach the top 10.

Murray is going to have his share of early losses at 19 and learning the game, it comes with the territory.

Damn, the kid is one of his slumps again (or concentrating on doubles)
hopefully another north american HC summer streak is around the corner soon.

good to see Jigi back in some form and at this rate he can get himself into the AO next year again

7-1 in the tb:eek:
Not a shock, but still:o losing to Jiri, who's nearly retired isn't a good sign.

Congrats Jiri, it is great to see him having some good results. As for Andy, his form will be judged in the indoors tournaments in Europe, this result was not a surprise by any means.

Oh dear Andy, maybe the doubles and singles aren't a good idea?

meh...no big deal.

andy was playing well during the summer, and he had to have a bit of letdown...he'll bounce back soon enough
