NFL Week 5

This week as expected was not as kind to me as first hoped. I thrive to have better results and be on par with my my first two weeks. There are a few games that I like but I feel this week is rather tricky still.

Chargers -3.5 over Pittsburgh
I know a lot of people are going to hate this pick considering the Steelers are coming off a bye week and desperate for a victory but I don't care. This defence is possibly the best in the league and even more dangerous is that their are at home. Steelers look like an average team right now and I don't think that is going to change.

Eagles -2.5 over Cowboys (pending status of Mcnabb and others)
Mcnabb will finally get his revenge for himself and the fans of Philly. I will not add anything else right now.

Giants Redskins over 43
This should be a high scoring game as both teams have lost their defences. It should be an exciting game, expect a lot of back and forth scores plus Brunell is on fire!!

Chiefs -3 over Cardinals
I am offically off the Cardinal bandwagon, they had so much promise but Warner is just awful this year. Sure they have great receivers but what difference does it make if your quarterback is the offical spokesperson for Butterfingers.

They are more games I like but will only pick four for now.

I'd stay away from any Steelers games, they're definitely a better team than waht they've been showing us so far and it's impossible to tell if the bye week will help them reach their potential again. I'd feel safer taking the Chargers in this situation though. Better to ride the losing streak than to try and guess when they'll get out of it.

Cant say I like the chargers play either and that d is nowhere near the best in the league. Well maybe nowhere near is a bit strong, they are top 10 but they can be moved on. Baltimore had more than its fair share of chances and McNair made bad read after bad read and his timing was way off but in the end he made it count. Pitt will be much more of a threat on offense then the 3 teams they've seen and are maybe a notch down from what baltimore brought on d but still better than san diego on that side of the ball. Being in San Diego is a plus for the chargers but it'll be upto Rivers to win this one again and as impressed as I was with him last week im not sure I believe he can do it still. That being said I can make arguements for both sides so unless its to tease the pitt +3.5 to 10.5 or more I think im off this one.

This weeks got a bunch of tough match ups and the books seem to have some really solid lines this week.

Denver was gonna be my big play but caught the line right after it moved to 4 and I dont wanna take 4 I was hoping to buy the point and get it at 3.

Giants might be a play but again the lines moved to 4 and I was looking for 3.

Even better, Leinart is still a rookie right?

that he is. I hate betting for or against unknowns tho. He could come out and play like a rook or he could step up. KC has been playing well defensivly but they arent so dominating on d that I would go against him, the only time I wanna go against an unknown rook is against a d that is gonna welcome him to the big time the hard way and theres only a few teams I trust to do that. Baltimore, Chicago, Philly

Warner will be in that game before half time :wavey: and he just changed his name to MR.IthrowPicksandFumlbe5timesAGame.

Trent Green wont start at QB for KC...still hurt...Larry Johnson had good last week..but's not an impressive year like last year...

The line is about right. Kansas City had a great game last week but everyone knows that it was at home against a weak 49er team. This is on the road against a desperate team looking to rebound from a couple of bad games.

maybe not...the weather is suppose to be 65 on sunday...which is good...and after looking at some stats...Green Bay Pass Defense sucks more than the Rams...they just cut there starting CB...who was 1st round pick in 2004... Bulger has been great this year..he will throw to Holt and Bruce all game long.. Jackson will run it to keep it balanced...Rams 35 Green Bay 24

Packers D sucks...really bad...they cut their best CB this week.. Rams have been a field goal machine this year..something has to give. Bulger has 0 int this year. hes been great..its about time Rams do something in the redzone...
i figure Packers will get their pts..about 21...Rams D is improved but i they wont hold the packers under 21 :)

It's still a lot of points though, I'm sure the Colts will want to thump the Titans but they don't get any extra points in their standings for a slaughter. I'd hate to back Colts with the points and watch a 30 point lead dwindle after the second stringers come on.

10 point teaser x 2 units

Colts -8 x Vikes + 3.5 x Bears pk

Colts should win by at least 10, Vikes should also win but a little safety here and bears are due for a let down but they are nasty at home and should squeak out a win.

10 point teaser x 2 units

Bucs + 16.5 x Browns +17.5 x Pats pk

Bucs back up is decent and with the bye week for him to get in reps he should be good to go. Browns are a scrappy team with some talent while the panthers have defensive troubles. Both sides should score but I like the browns to keep it close. Pats should win this, fins keep it close tho.

Vikes ml x Jags ml @ 1.66 x 2 units

Good value for the vikes and jags. Both at home and getting teams that are far weaker.

adding...

3 team 10 point teaser

Fins + 20 x Cards + 13.5 x Packers + 13.5 x 2 units

Like I said above fins keep it close so a little safety here. Cards I believe win this outright but kc doesnt win this by 2 scores. Rams may win but there d is awful so I expect favre to light them up and keep it close maybe sneak a w out.

one more 10 point teaser

Indy/Tenn u58 x Oak/SF u49 x steel + 13.5 x 2 units

Tenn isnt going to score much more than 10 points, Indy isnt going to bother putting up 7 tds. Oak and sf both will run the ball all game, both teams have deep threats but qbs who arent getting them the balls consistantly so it'll be a grind it out time clock eating type of game. Steel could win it outright, faux champs wont lose by 2 scores.

Washington Redskins @ NY Giants -5.5 - I'm not sold on the Redskins. They put up a ton of points against Houston (everyone does), and then got lucky against the Jags at home. I still remember when they got blanked 36-0 in last year's corresponding game. With the Giants coming off a bye and a huge loss to Seattle, they'll want to put the hurt on someone.

You are indeed right

Going to hurt the Colts now, Manning runs it so well. Bengals and Palmer as well.
