Ljubo was never in this match  James came out firing but he still sucks
apperently Ljubo was having problems with his left elbow..which he only uses when he tosses the ball...i guess thats why the 42% on first serves

still a good week for Ivan moves ahead of Rodduck for #3 in the Race :) and #3 in entry still has a big lead on Fat Dave :)

Ljubicic was serving at around 15% in the first set, and Blake just took full advantage, so kudos to him(though he still managed a choke when serving at 5-1 in the first :o )

It's not true , Roddick was seving very poor in USOpen final only 7 aces in 4 sets but made it very close in his Davis Cup match against Tursunov he wasn't serving good as well, but won third set without his great serves, Andy is much better player than Ivan :D, he is winning big titles and going deep into GS events and Ljubo have only "big head no heart"

Here is the rule with James Blake and MTF.

Before a match with a top player, everyone writes that Blake has 0 chance. Afterwards, if Blake loses, everyone writes what a terrible choker Blake is. If Blake wins, no one gives him credit and just attributes it to the bad play of his opponent. It's an interesting catch-22.

Great Day All,

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss! James was on fire and just too consistent today - and Lubi was off his game. I agree that when Lubi's serve is all the way off - his level of play falters - but he has nothing to hang his head about. Kudos to him too for reaching the final. His record is 55-17 & James' is 50-21, so Lubi still shines this year. No one can win them all.

I felt that if Lubi's serve was on - then he would have the advantage - which he has previously - but like James stated - if he got a read on those serves - he may haps would be able to stay close. Straight from the horse's mouth - Ivan stated that James did just that. He retured well.

Roddick served a high % other than the first few games of the first set. He only had 7 aces because he was playing Roger Federer.

Again, when Blake is focused, he can beat anyone except Roger. The problem is - Blake doesn't always believe or take every match seriously from the start. He is also too nice & has a negative view of his game on clay & grass. He'll never reach his full potential with those type of thoughts because you end up losing on other surfaces as well.

I don't think James is all that nice despite what the media said or seeing his interviews but that's a different matter. I'm still a massive fan. James is a smart kid and I'm pretty sure Brian Barker will eventually improve his clay and grass.

Congrats to James and thanks for deciding to participate even with the coup and all. Well worth every baht spent for the tickets (though the final was a bit of a let down for him to win so easily). :worship:
