Hello people!!. Just wanted to let you guys know I'll be going to the Cup everyday including the final and I want to share my experience today in the qualy wich is actually the first time i get to see some live tennis.
So i got to the club pretty early and saw a bit of uruguayan Felder against Copil. like i said the first ever match i see live and it wasn't that great, so when it ended (7-5 6-3 for felder) and i found out Veronelli was playing on another court , wich was kinda far, i rushed over there to see him play since i know him from Tenis Pro, he was playing against Rivera from Ecuador, had won the first set and when I got there the second set was startin' wich he lost badly, luckily for la flaca his opponent had a terrible start in the final set going down 0-5 eventually losing 2-6. In the afternoon session I saw the match between Dutra Silva and Slovakian Bocko who was very unimpressive, he won just one game and made a lot of df's. Then came Argentine Dabul who beat this dutch guy ( i think) pretty badly and at the same time Leonardo Mayer was playing against a Colombian guy but I couldnt see much of it cos everyone was seeing the match rooting for the Colombian guy, who lost, I think. After that I got to see Felder again this time losing Tto G Moraru, who made a good impression on me also Diego Hartfield and Hugo Armando were hanging around but they didn't stay and see the match, that was the last match I saw and actually then came the best part!!! I got to see Lappentti training wich was cool, but just i was about leave Zabaleta showed up:) with his coach, another Argie( ) and his coach. They played a one set match as training and Zabala payed a little kid to be their ball boy. Mariano, sadly, was not looking too good ( lost); he threw his racket like 3 or 4 times cursed a lot, hit a ball into the sky (extremely high) and the funny part was that at one point he threw his racket into the fence prttey hard and since it hit on the grip it actually made a hole in the fence wich his coach found pretty amusing and so did i!! At the same time on the court behind my back F Vicente was training nice too and he was wearing a pretty cool federesque nike blue shirt. At the same time Nicolas was still going at it (mostly serving) so that was pretty cool to be standin' up there and have those 3 guys training at the same time although my focus was mainly Zabaleta, I wanted to scream "aguante tenis pro" or sthg like that but i didn't dare!! I just waited
for him to finish and when he was leaving i got down the stairs and asked for his autograph, as he extended his hand for me to give him a pen i actually shook it:o and then realized I didnt have a pen:rolleyes:  I asked if he had one and he said no and that he'd give it to me tomorrow as i felt extremely embarassed, he was probably still upset about the training session cos he wasn't as nice as i imagined not that he was mean or anythin but he left in ahurry, as he was leaving i screamed "good luck in the tournament" and he said thanks and ciao, i'll see if i can get the autograph tomorrow!!!
So anyway sorry if this pseudoreport was too long or boring, i'd never done this, if anyone is interested in having me report some of the matches I see everyday just let me know and also, if there's someone looking for some company to go see some matches i'll be going by myself almost everyday and i'd love to meet some fellow tennis fans, colombian or otherwise since i can speak english.

I got to see Lappentti training wich was cool
I bet it was! I had the chance to see him training too, during the Szczecin challenger (he eventually won). He was mostly practicing his service as well.. So anyway sorry if this pseudoreport was too long or boring, i'd never done thisAre you kidding?I enjoyed your report immensly!Keep it going! In Europe there's no coverage from southamerican circuit, not to mention challengers, even such prestigious as those being Copa Petrobas part, so it's very nice to hear what's going on in there, especially from an eye-witness:)if anyone is interested in having me report some of the matches I see everyday just let me know Yes, I am..anything on Mr.Lapentti will be welcomed more than warmly! I can serve with reports from Bercy Masters matches as a 'return service' if you like?and also, if there's someone looking for some company to go see some matches i'll be going by myself almost everyday and i'd love to meet some fellow tennis fans, colombian or otherwise since i can speak english.

Hey Eveyone;)
First I wanna say thanks to takuma for the kind words and I'll be sure to keep an eye on everything going on with Nico;) Same for everyone who's shown interest in my continuing to report matches wich I will be doing for sure:yeah:
As far as today, unfortunately there wasn't much action because of rain, atleast I got to see 1 full match, Dabul vs. Moraru, wich I got to see from pretty close, there weren't any stands so we (very few people) were just sitting right behind the fence on the side and it wasn't a bad match, normally I would root for Dabul for being an Argie but I gotta say I kind of dig Moraru, he hits nice drop shots and a kind of neat slice backhand wich I like, Dabul is a very muscular lefty who's not very tall and today he just made some some key errors to lose the match in a tough 3rd set that saw no breaks until he made a couple of ue's at 4-5 30 all. After the match ended I went to see Leo Mayer against Dutra Silva and they were just finishing the first set 7-5 for Silva, in the fourth game of the second set the brazilian grabbed a break and in the change over befor he was gonna serve for the match, Mayer requested medical attention for some kind of problem with one of his wrists. When he was still being massaged the rain started to pour and although at first it looked like it would just go away at any second then it started to come down harder and players were forced to leave, i hung around until it was confirmed play was suspended for the day. They said maybe they would finish tonight under the lights:eek: but it wasnt confirmed so I had to leave:sad:. As far as Zabaleta is concerned, well I did see him, as soon as I got to the club but since he was having a meal with some friends I didnt dare ask him for the autograph I wanted, especially after what happenned yesterday:o, I was going to stay and watch his training session again and ask for it then, but the rain prevented it! Tomorrow hopefully I'll watch Berlocq against Gil, then i'll see if i stay and wait for Pashanski and Armando or go over to see a bit of Hartfield against Gonzalez (  ), and late in the afternoon I'll check out Zabala's match against Adrian Garcia. I'll be reporting.

Hello Everyone
Well today was a pretty long day for me, and an exciting one as well, I got to see most of what I wanted although not with the results I expected.
Play was delayed for over an hour due to rain so I ended up watching Silva vs. Sa cos it was the first match to start. I only watched the first set wich was pretty tight, with the crowd getting into it when Silva demanded a towel screaming in a very rude way, everyone started booing and screaming stuff at Silva, who seemed to like the attention, he was like "give it to me" very defiant so from that point on eveyone was cheering his errors although it was not enough to keep him from winning the set 7-3 in a tb in wich he won six points in a row from 0-2. As soon as it ended I went over to see Berlocq's match wich was just at the beginning of the second set. Carlos was talking a lot during the match and got upset over various issues, the opening ceremony of the tournament was being held as they played and he found the noise very annoying, actually screamin at one point "we're playing up here", he let it get to him and lost the second set. It looked like he'd gotten things back on track in the third when he went up 3-0 with a break wich he lost serving at 4-2. Then when he was serving 4all 40-0 the rain came back and they suspended the match, luckily it went away quickly but I heard a conversation between berlocq and an official and Carlos did not want the match to continue and was still complaining about the ceremony, strange since he was about to go up 5-4. The match did continue and Charly did win that game but it was the last one he would win. He couldn't put Gil under any kind of pressure to try to win the match at 5-4 and then got broken mainly cause he was tentativve. Last game he didn't come close either and as he stood there down 2 mp's down, he pointed to his head saying there was nothing up there!
Too bad cos I actually liked him and would have liked to see more of him.
Pashannski and Armando were scheduled to play next on the same court and I saw a bit of Zeballos against some Colombian until it started. I was also looking forward to seeing Pashanski for the first time but I gotta say he had a terrible day, Armando played well, but the one-sided score was mostly Boris' own doing. He served horribly (tons of df's) the whole match, he also was talking a lot laughing at himself complaining about the conditions (a lot of leaves fallin' on the court) and well there was never any doubt he would lose as he did. After that I watched another Colombian (Salamanca) aginst American Nuñez. Pretty boring really. They announced Zabaleta would be playing next and I realized how well liked he is here in Bogota. But, unfortunately, he just didn't have a good day, never really got going and Garcia played a pretty good match. First set was very easy for the chilean despite the fact that Mariano really had pretty much all of the crowd on his side. second set Zabala managed to make it tight but just couldn't impose himself and was pretty lucky to win it in all fairness. Garcia served for the win at 6-5 and then had a match point in the tiebreak wich Mariano did save with a corageous forehand on the line. After he finally took the set it really felt like the momuntum had swung his way and even more so when he reached break point twice in the opening game of the final set. But he failed to break and kind of got down on himself losing the next to games to give Garcia a brak lead. From then on, they held all their serves and Mariano only got close to breaking in the last game but once again wasted a couple of breakpoints. Then back to deuce Mariano hit a beautiful lob wich we all thought was good and were already clapping but Garcia signaled it as out and after checking it out, the umpire agreed, Mariano complained there was no visible mark (i could've sworn it looked good) and the umpire said lobs don't leave much of a mark:o . Well that was it for Zabala, he made an error the next point and threw his raquet in disgust, I guess it's no coincidence he was so unhappy with his play in training a couple of days ago, it's just not going his way at the moment:sad:. As far as tomorrow is concerned, i'm really excited, Koellerer will be playing early against Capdeville wich I wouldnt miss for the world!! Then the great willy Cañas will be playin against Chardy wich is quite special for me since this is the guy who kind of got me into tennis with his great comeback against Henman at the Aussie Open 04 wich was one of the first matches I ever watched. And then under the lights Nico Lapentti. Let's just hope the rain allows all of it!!

Hello everyone.
It was a tough day today because of rain, terrible for me as I had to spend several hours doing nothing at all, sitting in a park waiting for the rain to stop, finally it did and luckily i was still around although i had been very tempted to leave. About the match in wich Mello beat Echagaray 6-4 7-6, i dont really have a lot to say, it wasn't very entertaining and Mello shouldn't have had so much trouble closing it out, in all honesty i just wanted it to end fast so I could see Lapentti and luckily Mello did close it in 2 sets wich looked in danger after he'd wasted triple match point at 5-4 in the second set, but fortunately he gave the mexican no chances in the tiebreak. So it ended and then came the one everyone wanted to see: the top seed and recent ATP finalist against the tough qualifier from Brazil. It hasnt been a good tournament for seeded players and today wasnt a good day for Nicolas either. It's not like he played horribly but he just wasnt strong enough when it really mattered giving away leads in both sets. He broke early in the first and lost it. But then he managed to break again at 4 and 5 all but he just didn't serve for the set with any kind of authority, couldn't reach set point in either game, Silva was energized by the fact that he'd taken this set where he was always behind to a tiebreak and quickly got up 5-1. He had triple set point at 6-3 but Nico managed to come back. at that point i felt as though Lapentti would take the set but i was wrong, Nico made 2 errors, the last one being a completely mishit forehand wich was a big problem for him today. Second set started and Lapentti went up 2-0, but again, he couldn't hold on to the lead and allowed Silva to break back. Then at 3 all he played a poor game and lost the final point to lose serve again with a mishit forehand. from that moment on he could only force Silva to serve it out but he wasn't close to breaking the brazilian at all. Credit must go to Silva as well, he played pretty well (he hits great passing shots!) and when he sensed weakness in his opponent he didn't hesitate and looked very solid whwn the time came to close out the match. I did root for Nico but it seems when i do that the guy looses! Just like yesterday with Mariano. Tomorrow (if.....) Koellerer and Cañas would be the main dishes. Let's just hope after a couple of rainy days things are different tomorrow. Cross your fingers!!!

Hi guys.
Finally a sunny day today although it did rain in the afternoon. I got in early to watch Koellerer who i've heard so much about. First set, he didn't live up to his reputation but i guess he didn't have many reasons as he wasn't challenged at all and Capdeville made it easy for him with a bunch of errors and double faults. Second set, the Koellerer show started but it really wasn't that bad. He messed up the court bangin it with his racket wich got him a warning, then in one of his numerous racket throws, he broke it but didnt get apoint penalty wich upset Paul's coach who was sitting next to me. He is probably the most vocal player i've ever seen though, he talks a lot very loud and clear but i only understood when he cursed in spanish (cancha de "merda") and some stuff he said in english. He hit the ball into the fence a lot and hit a ball out of the stadium too. Also screamed at people to sit down but that was about it. Most of this happenned during the second set in and the start of the third whwn he found himself 1-3. He came back and was also very energetic in his positive outbursts, if you could call em that. He has some fans here and they were cheering him a lot!! F. Gil who was watching found that amusing. At the end of the match he gave em signed balls and actually seemed like a nice guy. A woman said (joking) "give us a broken raquet" and he laughed. Then she said thanks and he said "de nada".I look forward to seeing him tomorrow. The other match I watched was Willy's easy win against Chardy. He was very dominant, broke twice to win the first set and in the second once he saved 4 bp's to go up 3-0 there was no way back for Chardy, i have to say, though, Willy is looking a little rusty not that I dont consider it a privilege to have watched him live. Well, some interesting matches tomorrow, the highlight of course being Willy against Dani. I'll report.

The controversial austrian is doing a great job in Colombia.
Last week reaching quarterfinals in Medellin losing to eventual champion Chris Guccione.
This week in Bogota he beated 8th seed Paul Capdeville and the argentinian Guillermo Cañas.
Tomorrow he will have the opportunity to take revenge playing again with the new "Aussie Star" Chris Guccione, who has a record of 12-0 in the last three weeks. (Champion in Quito and Medellín).

Another thing. Koellerer is the most hated player by Gustavo Marcaccio

Hello people!!!
I know it's pretty late, but i figured better late than never and I saw a couple of great matches wich are certainly worth reporting. First was the Guccione - Vicente wich was very exciting! Lots of twists and turns and a worthy winner in the end as Chris should have closed it much sooner. I got in time to see the first set tiebreak won convicingly by Guccione. He really is playing well, serving big and i can see why he's been winning so much. The feeling I got in the match was it was always up to him, he was going for it and it was just a case of weather he missed or not, Vicente was just pushing most of the time except for some good passing shots he hit when given the chance. However because of the fact that Chris gave some freebies showcasing no patience at all, he was staying close as he did in a second set wich saw no breaks. Then in the TB first lead wasted by as he was 5-2. He threw away return points and didn't serve effectively at 5-4. Then at 5-6 another attempted winner return missed. Me and my friend thought he was gonna go away in the third and he did lose his serve to start but got it back in the second game and then wnt up 5-2 with a break. But once again serving for it, he just wasn't his usual self, I think he probably missed every first serve! then they held allthe way to 6-6 and another tiebreak to decide the winner, a very exciting one i might add. IN the end it has to be said Guccione's style of big serving and agressive play came through for him big time. I mean he found himself matchpoint down at 5-6 after missing a wild return (and Vicente's serve really looked weak today) and he hit an ace, a huge, huge unreturnable second serve at 6-6 and then a great agressive return wich Fernado could do nothing about. He went for it with it on the line and it paid off, I was pleased cos it's great to watch someone like him doing what he does on a surface that doesn't favour it. No wonder he won in Medellin and Ecuador. C'mon Chris.
Then I watched some of Garcia vs. Dutra but I was just waiting for Willy Cañas and Koellerer. It was a great match too!! Although I wanted to see Willy winning but he just wasn't good enough. I already mentioned in aprevious post he looks rusty and today it was so again. he was running around to hit his forhand like always and missing a lot of 'em. He looked kinda Tired too. First set was a very tough one. Cañas broke for 2-1 but gave it right back, from then on they held until 5-6 when Willy requested some medical attention, I think he was cramping cos he got a massagge but cant say for sure. Tiebreak was tough too and Willy made some key errors to lose 5-7, it was just clear he was far from a 100% and I feared he would not have much left in the second set despite being the warrior he is. So, the second set started and at 1-1 the lights went off!!! that gave everyone a 20 minute break wich I felt could be good for Willy. But when they came back he still looked compromised and gave away a cheap break at 3-3. Then also lost the next game with a wild forehand return at game point. At 3-5 he saved a couple of match points and held but I realized it was gonna be very difficult to come back. Last game Koellerer played solidly and took advantage of the lack of movility and preciness from Cañas who did save the first match point at 40-15, but then couldn't prevent Daniel from hitting a winner to take the match in style 7-6 6-4 much to his delight. As far as "Crazy Dani" goes, well he's not living up to the hype on MTF! He actually behaved even better that he did against Capdeville. He did get upset about a phone ringing as he was about to serve and when the gulity (cellphone owner) party raised his hand aplogising Koellerer said something to him wich got him a warning, so he said to the umpire "I told you long ago to tell 'em to turn them off and you looked at me and smiled but didn't say a word!" "Can you say something". After that point ended the umpire did so (but some people just refuse to do it). Honestly that is the only incident I caN Talk about, after the match he walked right past me to do the press conference and as he was leavin, his raquet bag actually hit me a little!!(unintentionally of course) I also heard that Willy didn't want to do press so they decided to go find him with camera, mic and everything!! Obviously I couldn't follow them to the locker room. That's it for now and just wanted to let you guys know I don't know if I can be there tomorrow for qf's. I gotta go early to the airport cos my mother is travelling, so I gotta get up in like less than 3 hours. I honestly don't know if I'll be up for it with so little sleep wich is something that doesn't suit me, depends on how I feel after leaving the airport, maybe I will get some sleep at home and then go check out wich ever match is played last, I dont know, tell you tomorrow.

Thank you so much GustavoM_Fan for schedules ;)

Personally I like Koellerer but I know there are people (majority of people, let's admit) who hate him with a passion :p

I want to see him play a match in person :p I had my chance in Paris, but there were many favs playing when he was, so I gave them priority obviously. And then he played a Future here, $10K, straigth after US Open qualies. He only played doubles as he was forced to pull out of singles. But I didn't go; no time. Argh.

Thank you Diego again for your wonderful report. I am sure that Daniel when asked for a photo, wouldn't refuse and moreover, would like to see that photo how did he look on it :D He's really not that bad - he just says there are a lot of people living inside of him and it looks like true.

Could you tell me please two things:
1. Can Giraldo overtake Hartfield? How does Santi play? (I think he can do fine here :tape: )
2. Is Koellerer with this coach?

Hello people!!!
I know it's pretty late, but i figured better late than never and I saw a couple of great matches wich are certainly worth reporting. First was the Guccione - Vicente wich was very exciting! [...]

What a sensational Guccione's form! :bounce:
12-match winning streak & he has won 13 of last 16 tie-breaks.
