Apparently, he's prepared to throw in steffi on weekends, at least one of the kids and a home movie of brooke sheilds to sweeten the deal. :)

I just finished reading the comments section and it seems a lot of people would disagree with you on that. I think what would make this house desirable is the property and the view of SF Bay.

It's a beautiful home (from the ouside) but it seems overpriced to me. Perhaps the realtor is banking on Agassi's name.

why do those celebrities have such a bad taste to decorate their houses? :scared: :help:

Because they hire expensive, fancy decorators to do it for them since they have no idea what to do with that much house, and trust them to know what they're doing when usually they clearly do not. :)

I think the "Tiger Woods" house is worse. WHat the hell is up with those crazy-ass ceilings?

as for the furnishings in Andre's house....I doubt he personally picked that stuff out....maybe Steffi is the bad decorator. But more than likely, they hired some idiot decorator.

the tiger house is a vacation home in Hawaai and he seldom goes there. for the ceiling, I think that is the only bad thing in that house and for all I know it must be there for some reasons.

I think American celebrities are more ostentatious. I've seen Moya's villa, Baghdatis family home and the Nadal's complex,(TC) they are pretty simple constructions and nothing indicate that a celebrity is living in there. The # 1 player in the world lives in a two? bedroom apartment, it is really interesting to analyze why celebrities in America try to overdo? Maybe real estate in Europe and other parts of the world is more expensive and hard to get? Sorry if I hijacked your thread.

Andres home interior was a disaster, but I feel like he is never there anyway, so whatever. And 21mil!!! ahAHAHAHAH, he's never getting rid of that home.

Tiger's home is overdecorated, and looks like a hotel resort/cruise ship penthouse...they tried way too hard...it's still nice, but i just don't understand either why people need to go to such extremes.

You people had better stick to tennis, cause you know squat about interior design. The silk in those draperies alone must be worth $10,000.00 and the French Provincial furniture in the bedroom looks to be the REAL thing. The mirrors, especially. It's obvious that the house has been "staged to show" and that it hasn't been lived in for a very long time.

You know sometimes expensive stuff does not translate to great taste. I believe that you can furnish a place cheap yet tastefull.

I agree. But "taste" is such a subjective thing, isn't it?

My taste runs to the more contemporary, but I can't deny that there are some very beautiful items there. It actually has a rather "European" feel, which would probably be Steffi's taste.

Agree on the subjective thing, but the eye could catch when a place is tastefully decorated even if you don't like the style. I liked some of the furniture in Andre's though I found in some rooms it was overstuffed.

The house has obviously been "staged." It has been on the market since 2001, first for $25 mil and now down to $21. Evidently it's a tough sell. It's a big house but not really designed for small children and Andre and Steffi are only there a few time a year, according to Andre.

It actually has a rather "European" feel, which would probably be Steffi's taste.

Not true at all. Steffi's taste runs toward the sleek and contemporary, according to Steffi. (The two of them have just designed a line of furniture and it is very low and sleek. Very beautiful. Will be on the market next year.)

I guess many of you who were unimpressed by the way this place looked inside were right. It took a long time to sell.....

However, according to this link (http://www.marinij.com/marin/ci_4720378), Andre and Steffi eventually unloaded the place but accepted $3M less than the place cost them a few years prior!!

Losing $3 million on the sale isn't too bad. They'd save that much in a year on taxes and upkeep alone.

What they should've done was invest in YouTube. ;)

Tennis stars Agassi, Graf lose $3 million on mansion sale
11/29/2006

TIBURON, Calif. (AP) — Retired tennis stars Andre Agassi and wife Steffi Graf have agreed to sell their mansion overlooking San Francisco Bay for $20 million — $3 million less than it sold for five years ago.

The 13,000-square-foot estate is being sold to Stuart Peterson, the chief of a hedge fund that invested early in the YouTube video-sharing website, according to Bill Bullock, whose real estate firm represents the couple. YouTube agreed last month to be acquired by Google for $1.65 billion dollars.

Agassi and Graf live most of the year in Las Vegas and had been asking $24.5 million for the property, which features 11 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a home theater, two pools, a tennis court and helicopter landing pad.

Agassi's financial advisers wanted him to get rid of the little-used compound to save on the cost of upkeep, Bullock said.

The deal was expected to close in January.

I dont know why so many people are critical of this house, as I'm sure anyone here would die to have a house half as good as that one.Well, yes. Of course our houses don't compare. But the criticism comes from the perspective that with that much money to spend, people here think they could come up with a better house according to their tastes. That's all. :)

Which is true. But chances are that some decorator did that. Somehow I just can't see Steffi picking that kind of stuff out. Or Andre for that matter.

On the other hand, they DID name their daughter Jaz. I guess you just never know.

I like the cinema. I thought it was a showroom at first.

I think that is wildly overpriced. I bet if you searched around you could find a similar house for half that price. Still, I'm not saying I would mind living there if had a couple more quid to spend. :)
