Sam Querrey vs. Donald Young - Tulsa Challenger 1R

Donald was touted as the future of American tennis but Sam has made a breakthrough much sooner flying under the radar with several ATP wins, a second round at the USO and two challenger titles, while Donald has won one set in the ATP (Djokovic) and won two challenger matches. In a rematch of last year's Kalamazoo final in which Young came out victorious, these two youngsters will duke it out again the first round of Tulsa challenger.

I had no idea Querrey was such a big guy!

Anybody that big who has some natural talent is bound to eventually do some damage on tour...

Querrey in 2. He's had some very good results this year, playing in ATP tournaments. Won a set against Nadal in Cincinnati, and against Soderling and Gaudio, in New Haven and the US Open respectively. He's got more expierence as well, I go for him.

Sam will destroy this aroggant kid, Young don't have heart I watched him at the USOpen against Djokovic and he give away matches in home tournament it was pathetic, he will achieve nothing , Sam is on the other level, he listens what other says to him.

I kind of agree, I heard he didn't look like he wanted to be on the court V Djokovic. Querrey looks to have his feet firmly on the ground for now, he looks a huge talent for the next year.

wasn't Sam Querrey retired from their match at Kalamazoo so Donald went to get a wild card at USO ?

You might be thinking of this year's Zoo final when Jesse Levine couldn't play. Sam lost to DY last year.

Sam should win this, in two sets.

Sam's pretty good. I think he has a great future. It was nice to see that Andy Roddick has taken a personal interest in his career. That's pretty decent as he is likely soon to become a formidable competitor.

Why do you think iis good for a tennis player to be 2m tall??
he is too big. it is much better to be 1.80m then 2m

Yeah, basically for everything except serving. The ideal height is probably somewhere between 185 and 190 centimeters.

I would usually agree with you but he is that tall AND has made good progress so far at a young age. I presume he has thus been able to use his size and wingspan to good use. With that size, what he will lack in mobility he can make up with sheer power and angles that his extra height will give him the oppurtunity to execute.

Time will prove who is right on this one.

You know, despite all the negative stuff Young has been receiving lately, I'm tempted to agree with you on this one. I have a feeling once they reach their full potential, Young will be a better player than Querrey.

Not to take anything away from Querrey, though. He's very near the Top 100 now and maybe 2007 will be his break-out year.

I don't know who will be the better player in the future, but I'm picking Sam in a match between them now.
