...well, not yet. But Bryans are leading 2sets-0, it's obvious they were gonna win this one. Poor Dima and Misha!

But GO BRYANS GO! :D

i'm not sure...if Andy serves better he might beat Youzhney...and Safin vs Blake, or Blake vs Davydenko is a question mark...

Yes, Roddick can beat Youzhny tomorrow but Blake won't beat Safin.

Well you never know, Safin can be pretty poor if he feels like it

Some posters at the Russian Forum are saying that Youzhny will definitely be replaced by Davydenko tomorrow against Roddick.

Who plays first? Roddick - Youzhny or Blake - Safin?

Youzhny-Roddick first (or Davydenko-Roddick), then Safin-Blake

Well, with Roddick playing first there's a huge 2-2 chance for USA. But in all truth, Blake defeating Safin sounds utopic at best.

 but davydenko is not playing...isn't korolev in the team instead of kolya?

The world’s top pair, Bob and Mike Bryan, were simply a class better than Russia’s occasional pairing of Dmitry Tursunov and Mikhail Youzhny. Their 63 64 62 win in 89 minutes was a masterclass in doubles technique, and as they returned to their chair, McEnroe said to them: “Do I need to pay you for that clinic? – It was such a great performance.”

PMAC is such a tool. He should be paying Ivan for all the clinics he recieved from him.

I still think the Americans can do this, if they really get themselves together tomorrow :)

no

if Youzhny plays I think Andy will win this one, because Mikail must be tired a little bit , 7 sets in 2 days so his body maybe working against him , and Blake vs Safin could be close , it would be mental battle out there

Hopefully Marat will be on his way to the airport after 4th rubber, not playing Blake ;)

But Youzhny will be deadly tired, 3 matches not even 24h of rest in 3 days , at least 10 sets at this level it could be lethal for him.

I wish I was so sure in Marat as Bilbo and GWH. George, could you please save me from another heart attack tomorrow then? :)
Namely I'm not that sure Misha or Kolya will definitely get a win vs Andy R. Yeah yeah, even if it's clay and whateva.

""Andy Roddick and James Blake lost their singles matches Friday, putting the United States on the verge of elimination on a sluggish clay court at Olympic Stadium. The last time the U.S. rallied from a 2-0 Davis Cup deficit was in 1934 against Australia.

``Andy and James kept coming up to us and saying, 'Give us a chance, give us another shot, let us redeem ourselves.' And that's kind of what we went into the match thinking all the time,'' Bob Bryan said.""

I think they would be extra motivated it is good that Andy is playing first, less rest for Youzhny and Andy is more capable of makin 2-2 than Blake

Ira, even Kolya vs Andy R. I am NOT convinced Kolya would win. :tape:  :bolt:

Edit: but should Russia NOT get into the final Annie better kick their buttocks as hard as she can.

This is NOT over. The Russian coach made an error Safin clearly would of been better to use then Tursanov. Dimitry isn't as talented or as powerful as Marat. I am not sure what the Russians will do tomorrow but I do know Safin is playing Blake. But will they use Davydenko or Youzhny?

I think Tarpi was pretty aware of the real chances
there was such a slight hope for the doubles (even with Marat)

the mental part (as always) will be the crucial for tomorrow's rubbers

hope that Misha and Marat (or Dima?) will be stronger than the Americans

why are they called rubbers?

why are they called rubbers?

Back in the day (no joke) the winner of each match used to receive a Davis Cup rubber sponsored by BNP Paribas from the umpire. From then on they just decided to call the matches, "rubbers".

Easy win for the America Double team, An important win survives The U.S.

Andy owns Youzhny or Davydenko.

5th rubber is pretty obvious. Safin will win that one to clinch the tie. Good effort from the US, though.

The Bryans are I think the only two American men that can really play well on clay. That's why they have a French Open Doubles' Title. So Congrats to the Bryans :D
