Obviously, I like players that pour there souls in the game, Nadals #1 in that, then I think Hewitt follows, then Baghdatis.

Safin is just a waste of talent. When he's on though, he's a pleasure to watch.

Federer is just Federer, no need to elaborate here....

1. Safin - I think his shot making is brilliant. When he's on, nobody entertains more. I am also entertained because I feel like he lets viewers into his world when he's playing. It is a joy to watch.

2. Richard Gasquet - once again, a guy who is a bloody brilliant shotmaker.

3. Marcos Baghdatis - he clearly loves the game. He puts his heart out there (a la USO) and I enjoy and respect that.

4. Rafa Nadal - the intensity with which he plays the game makes him very exciting to watch. His athletecism is astounding and his refusal to get down in the dumps is inspiring.

5. Andy Murray - for all his moping, bad posture and sloth-like movement between points, he's a hell of a tactician. He really uses his head out on the court. Plus, it amuses me when he yells at Gilbert. Don't know why, it just does. :)

Great list, great argument, but absence of Federer in tennis-entertainer's list inevitably discredits the author.

Yes, Baghadatis is a good choice. He's not always entertaining though. The times when he's just serious and nervous he's not entertaining. When he gets a certain joy out of the game and swings freely he's fun to watch.

I was thinking about saying Coira also. He was very entertaining before he lost some of his confidence. He could hit such amazing shots with finesse and guile. He has an elegant style. When he manages to manuever the rally to win the point it's fun to watch.

I'm really surprised that Andy Murray gets mentioned quite a bit, I for sure thought his name would be a good candidate for a the "boring" list because he is truly a boring player IMO, a good one, but really boring to watch.

Gasquet, win or lose, is sooooo fun to watch everytime!

I think one of the things that makes Murray entertaining for a lot of people, in addition to the things mentioned, such as point construction and tactics, is that he is able to break serve, and just as likely to be broken very often. This doesn't happen too often in the men's game, and sometimes makes for a more interesting and unpredictable match. It's not like he has a Dementieva or current Coria like serve. Rather, his game is just suited to competitive games both on and against serve.

Plus, he occasionally pukes on court, which is always a crowd pleaser.

Great list, great argument, but absence of Federer in tennis-entertainer's list inevitably discredits the author.

Roger is an amazing player. I did not put him on the list because I an very rarely entertained when Roger plays. Either he's destroying his opponent, which I find exceedingly dull or he's losing to Rafa, who makes him play tennis that isn't very attractive - which also isn't entertaining.

That isn't to say that I don't applaud some of those "roger moments" where he hits shots that don't seem physically possible. I do - how can a true tennis fan not enjoy such transcendent tennis? But those moments are isolated. I wasn't trying to have a dig at Roger - but it is the truth that I don't often find him entertaining.

Hmmm- I will try to narrow it down.

1) Coria- before his serve issues. I loved to see him play when he was in his prime. I was always very entertained during his matches and really, really hope that he gets his game together in 2007.

The rest:

Federer
Gonzalez - much more entertaining now than he used to be
Nadal
Baghdatis/Blake when he is on/Youzhny when he is on/Verdasco when he is on/Gasquet/Monfils when he is on/Santoro/Nalbandian when he is involved/Murray even with his sometimes ill advised drop shots

What did i miss about this Funky Flo?

He's on the lists of half MTF about entertaining players and i've never seen even a small glimpse of entertainment in his game ever

i guess i'm the blind one and haven't watched him enough, but this is strange to say the least

One of the greatest clay court player of all the time but definitely not the most entertaining style.
It is boring to wait two hours between his first and second serve, not a pleasure to watch.

No, THE undisputed greatest clay courter of all time

I'm not saying he's the most entertaining on hardcourt, but definately clay.

Watch Federer v Nadal on clay and tell me know is more entertaining. Maybe watch the 2008 RG final: 6-1 6-3 6-0

Nah the "Greatest" clay court player of all time and "one of the greatest" tennis player of all time.

Coming to style i like fed's style but at times he might seem like a ball basher like against Novak in the FO 2012 semis.

1. Dolgo...crazy stylist
2. Monfils....just crazy
3. Nalbandian....great angle hitter...great 2hbh

let's say, without thinking too much :

1. Federer
2. Leconte
3. McEnroe (John ;) )
4. Youzhny
5. Becker (Boris  )

And I would have loved watching Nastase in his prime

Noah was my only idol beside Federer but I don't know exactly if I can put him here : it really depends on the periods of his game, in the end he was a "serverer", and anyway there were other reasons than his tennis to love him.

Number one has to be Rafael Nadal. Wouldn't have watched tennis without him. Gael Monfils and Tsonga are entertaining too. Andy Murry is fun to watch at times. Santoro was also very entertaining, but I don't have a lot of his memories.
