HOW DID TOMMY LOSE THIS ONE???? :eek:He was cramping in the last set, but it's not an excuse, he should never have to play a 5th set against Udomchoke.
Kudos to Udomchoke, he really did his best, but it was SO obvious he feels uncomfortable on clay, the match was a complete joke from Haas. :tape:

(But I'm not surprised, I've been watching Germany in Davis Cup for a few years now, they suck big time in Davis Cup, you can always expect at least one shocking result.)

Udomchoke hasn't even played a match on clay for over a year. He hasn't won a match on clay for over 4 years.

This is one of the strangest results I've ever seen.

Udomchoke didnt believe at all, that he could win today (he said so in the interview). His biggest career win, so far.

Crappy performance by Haas, although he had those muscular problems in the last set. He had realistic chances to make the rebreak but made terrible fh UEs.

Danai Udomchoke :worship:

I mean I didn't know much about him before, but to beat a Tommy Haas on clay in Germany is something he can really be proud of.

Tommy Haas is such a wannabe...

great win Danai!

Danai is better than paradorn on clay. He should've been No.1 for this tie.

Let me take a wild guess. Tommy pitched a huge hissy fit as matters started to drift south.

I knew Udomchoke was due for a big win. Robredo has been in a downward spiral since his win in Hamburg. Bye, bye Shangai.

Udomchoke played haas, not robredo. I'm pretty sure that's what the thread title says.

Poor performance from Tommy :o Instead of playing on clay the DTB should maybe have decided to play the matches on another surface where the players feel more comfortable. Neither Haas nor Mayer like clay.

True regarding Haas, but Mayer had his best results on clay, no doubt about it.

Clay IS/WAS the right choice.

Well Tommy is Germany's #1 player right now and even I as a fan know his best surface is hard court. I couldn't believe someone in German picked clay for this DC Tie  Also a poster put up some pictures in Tommy's Forum and it looks like he was having a leg or foot problem. I watched him at the U.S. Open and I know at his last Match there he was having a problem with his foot.

They picked clay because Thais suck on clay. They just couldn't expect Tommy would suck more...

I thought the results were gonna be all the way around with Haas defeating Udomchoke, and then Paradorn levelling up the tie.

A few upsets today. Anyways, great wins by Mayer and Udomchoke.

true that. they haven't chosen Clay because their own players are very good on it, but rather because the opponents didn't make their best results on that surface... that's pretty stupid, Tommy would beat Paradorn on hard court in my serious opinion.
