He should do but he's going to have to defend some of his results from this time last year to do so - he's in the pack of 4 or 5 players whose qualification is still very uncertain. He's going to have to do well in Madrid, which is his first tournament I think - so he's not giving himself many chances.

His first tournament is Tokio.
He has to step it up,if he wants to qualify, but fortunately for him his best of 5 are almost empty.

Easy for Nalbandian.

He has not utilised 4 of his 5 optionals.

He has optionals yes but he's not done well since the French Open so he actually needs to get some points from his optionals.

Tokyo - yes, my mistake.

David has been playing very well indoors 4 years in a row, I'm pretty sure he will make it. :wavey:

Haha, that's way, just ask the players! No need for MTF!

I don't know what's going to happen with him, but if he keeps this up (or down).... I really don't know.

He has only played one tournament that is not a master's event or GS, he is in entry list for Tokio, Vienna and Basel, I guess depending on his results he will play some of those tournaments. I woud think at least 2 if he does well in madrid.

His first semester alone should put him there. He only defends Madrid SF and points from 2 optionals until the TMC, it shouldn't be a problem for him to finish the Champions Race in the top 8.

if he wants to be there he will be but if he stays focused on madrid and paris only he could be in trouble.

He does not have to defend points from last year to qualify for TMC. There are 2 ranking lists; the "entry rankings" (the ranking which determines your entry and seeding in tournaments) which calculate the results over the last 12 months and the "race rankings" which count results just from Jan. 1 2006 on and are what qualify you for TMC. Nalbandian need not defend last year's points as long as he is in the top 8 for 2006. Currently he is 4th in the entry ranking and 7th in the race ranking list, one point ahead of Bagdhatis.
