where did you get it?

Mrs. B
02-13-2004, 03:58 PM
my gf won it last year in Gstaad but she can't make it as she has other commitments already so she's passing it down to me, and it's ok with Swiss Tennis.
but you can order them starting March 1.
are you going?

Dirk

I think that quote is referring to Roger vs the rest of the tour.

Mrs. B
03-27-2004, 07:32 AM
exactly, Dirk.

but one has to be careful these days what to 'quote' here, u could get into trouble. ;)

Val, i'll look for another sig, no worries, it's just a sig. And if u do get drawn, we could meet in Lausanne. Doris will be there too with another fan from Roger's site.

Dirk
03-27-2004, 07:37 AM
Just because one has money doesn't mean they are stronger. There are many who are strong inside from all walks of life. Keep the quote Mrs. B its a good one. Roger doesn't need any gods on his side because HE IS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!! http://mysmilies.ipbfree.com/s/otn/blobs/multi.gif

guys, dont get me wrong! I was talking in general..I just said that I hoped God was also by side of poor, unhappy and weak ppl  I wasnt talking of money or of tennis!

Mrs B,I'll have an answer about tickets on March 31th. cross your fingers! ;)

Mrs. B
03-27-2004, 02:23 PM
it's ok, Val. i know what you mean. ;)

i'll keep my fingers crossed for you. hope you get lucky! :bounce:

i think they won't be allowing poles or sticks inside the venue so just to make sure, i've changed my 'accessoire' for DC. i'm now gonna be wearing a straw hat with a plastic Emmentaler cheese on top with a little cow hanging on the side. LOL!
and i'll carry a Swiss flag for sure. ;)

Grosjean pulled out. Reports said he caught a virus in Miami. I must say I admire Roger's startegy; Get sick, then poison everyone else and heal up before they do. http://mysmilies.ipbfree.com/s/contrib/ed/laughpf.gif

Marine, qui va jouer les doubles? La Cle et Llodra?? et les simples? La Cle et ?? Escude?

Dirk
04-06-2004, 06:03 PM
Yeah its sad but Grosjean will get better in due time. I'm just glad its something that rest and medicine will clear up and not an injury.

Marine
04-06-2004, 06:10 PM
Marine, qui va jouer les doubles? La Cle et Llodra?? et les simples? La Cle et ?? Escude?

En simple, escudé et arnaud probablement...de toute façon y'a pas beaucoup de possibilités  , et en double je sais pas: escudé/llodra surment.

Dirk
04-06-2004, 06:14 PM
Clement and Escude are a good team. Forget might have really messed up by firing Santoro.

04-06-2004, 08:18 PM
Merci, Marine! J'ai vu des photos de Seb et il semble vraiment malade... il n'a pas bonne mine -- faut qu'il se recupere bien! C'est dommage... tous ces joueurs malades ou blesses...

Marine

Santoro doesn't play in single.
But if Nico plays in double AND in single, he will be tired, so yes it's a problem...

WHERE? WHERE?

Mrs. B

that's why Seb was not there on Monday during practice. Quel dommage.

i'm sure he'll sit with the rest of his team and cheer them on.

Jim Jones
04-07-2004, 11:46 AM
Santoro is struggling in singles but is a good doubles player. But his loss won't really be felt since Escudé, Llodra & even Bennetteu are good at doubles. France are still favored to win without Grosjean & Escudé not in form to play 3 ties. But I'm for Switzerland. Allez la Suisse!

Ok I will calm down now. Thanks George and hey can you tell us details?

Action Jackson
04-09-2004, 01:35 PM
I didn't see the match, but I know he won 91 % of points on both his 1st and 2nd serves, and seemed to be clearly superior. I have some Swiss friends who are there, they will tell me when they get back in greater detail.

I am following the Argie/Belarus match and it's not going well for me.

Dirk
04-09-2004, 01:59 PM
I know you are worried about the USA winning DC and Argentina would surely stop them. I just hope Sweden does good. I will tell you all about those matches George. Looks like Spain is doing great. JC has a double break in the 1st. Good to see him back. COME ON IVO BABY!!!!!!!!! http://mysmilies.ipbfree.com/s/otn/blobs/multi.gif

HEY GEORGE IF THEY BEAT FRANCE THEY WILL PLAY SPAIN IN SPAIN????? THAT MEANS ROSSET AND ROGER FOR THE DOUBLES BABY. ROSSET IS AWESOME ON CLAY AND ESPECIALLY ON DOUBLES. COME ON SWISS. HEY GEORGE IF THEY BEAT FRANCE THEY WILL PLAY SPAIN IN SPAIN????? THAT MEANS ROSSET AND ROGER FOR THE DOUBLES BABY. ROSSET IS AWESOME ON CLAY AND ESPECIALLY ON DOUBLES. COME ON SWISS. That Tie will rule.

It would be in Switzerland, so unlikely to be on clay. I don't want to get ahead of myself, since the doubles tomorrow is going to be really tough, but I'd love to see Federer/Ferrero on carpet in Basel :)

If...they will play in Switzerland

But before we can talk about that, let's first wait until the double's result...

lsy
04-09-2004, 04:56 PM
yeah!!! Good to come back and see a win from Rogi :) Well done though I have no idea how did the match go but it seems like he played pretty good.

But poor Ivo...sigh

Nervewrecking double match again tomorrow. Didn't the French team win the AO this year? But was llodra/Santoro instead. Gonna be tough...

Dirk
04-09-2004, 05:21 PM
Yeah Thank God Guy Faggot is stupid and fired Santoro. Otherwise I wouldn't give Swiss any chance to win the tie.

lsy
04-09-2004, 05:28 PM
that's true.

But I'm still pretty skeptical of the Swiss chance. I wish I had seen for once Rogi/Yves double match, I have minimal idea how well do they play together.

novanora
04-09-2004, 05:30 PM
It gonna be tough tomorrow for doubles, but still chance of winning. Ivo's game was partly in the estimation. I really expect Switzerland vs Spain for some private reason:devil: Let's wait for tomorrow.

Yeah Thank God Guy Faggot is stupid and fired Santoro. Otherwise I wouldn't give Swiss any chance to win the tie.
Santoro sucks as a singles player. Have you seen his recent results? France needs 3 good singles players. Even Benneteau is a better singles player than Santoro. Also Benneteau & Escude are decent doubles players.

Dirk
04-09-2004, 07:28 PM
um Santoro is for the doubles follow the posts Jim. Lorda and Santoro are an excellent team in doubles and taking him off was a huge mistake.... well maybe.

Good luck Rogi/Yves!

Goooooooooooooooooo Swiss!!!!

Fedex
04-10-2004, 04:56 AM
Good luck to Rogi/Allegro, i am however sceptical about doubles though, as i have never seen them play together. They did win a title together last year, against Mirnyi, so thats definatly good news.

FryslanBoppe
04-10-2004, 04:59 AM
They are fairly good together, as they have played together since their teens so it won't be a lack of combination that will hurt them.

the doubles will obviously decide it

carole
04-10-2004, 10:46 AM
Well, I HOPE the semi final is going to be Spain-France,
but since Grosjean isn't playing...
i think it's going to be Spain-Swiss...

The Federer-Ferrero match would probably be the most exciting one...
but Federer is a carpetfreak, Ferrero a clayfreak... it would be Fed' winning I guess :s but then again, Ferrero would win his other match probably...
All Spaniards or clay-freaks actually :s
BUT they have more very good players than Swiss, so...
a lot of pro's en contra's for both countries!

...

Well i'm sure Spain-Swiss would be an exciting tie :P
my prediction would be 3-2

But hey, we should first think about Swiss-France :D

I hate the french faggoteers. I REALLY DO. Spain will wipe them off the court. Swiss sucks and Allergo sucks. Roger can't do it by himself. He needs Manta or Rosset. Roger should skip all DC ties from now on. Why waste the effort????? :fiery: Fucking Gay ass Butt Brothers will win. USA is so fucking lucky to have a very well balanced team. Its all for nothing Spain will waste The FRENCH FAGGOTEERS IN SEPTEMBER. :fiery: The worst part of all is that roger will actually feel bad about this, him of all people on the team will feel bad for this loss. Ivo and Micheal will just look at him and  "we suck" Allergo is too young and not experienced or good enough although is improving.

carole
04-10-2004, 02:18 PM
which underground will they be playing on in France? (semifinal Sp-Fr) Clay again? in that case... bye France.

LOL
I don't think Roger will dwell on it to much if they lose, especially if he wins both his singles matches. He knows fully well the lack of depth in Swiss tennis and is not really expecting to win the DC in the near future.

I suggest Rosset nominates Hingis for the deciding rubber if needed

RogiFan88

good one, wyven!

WyveN
04-10-2004, 02:31 PM
Considering the Swiss still have a 100% success rate on second serve I suggest they should use the first serve for a single purpose - trying to hit Escude in the head so that he is injured for the deciding rubber

Considering the Swiss still have a 100% success rate on second serve I suggest they should use the first serve for a single purpose - trying to hit Escude in the head so that he is injured for the deciding rubber

thats not points won on 2nd serve ;) but actually to get 2nd serve into court :)
pts won on 2nd serve is 24/37

Bad luck about the doubles Rogi/Allegro were leading 5-3 in the 3rd set tie break and Allegro was actually serving quite well, but losing that breaker stuffed them and Llodra was the best player, too bad Allegro didn't make enough returns.

There haven't been many occasions when Federer was leading 2 sets to love and has lost. Hewitt has beaten Roger many times when Roger beat himself, but it was the other factors like he had to win for his country, serving for the match, the numerous chances that added to make it worse.

Neither the problem that Switzerland has is that they never had two of their good players at the peak around the same time.

In 92 Rosset was good but he had to carry Hlasek who was crap in the final, then when Rosset was at this best, there wasn't anyone around, then when Federer was coming up Hlasek wouldn't pick Rosset because of personality problems, now Feds is good and Rosset is past it.

Lets see you go out and do better.

Rosset said after Australia he wasn't going to play in any more ties, and he knows he is way past his best and is looking ahead as he can't be there forever.

Allegro did his best and stop blaming him as the only reason they lost, sure he could have made more returns, but that is the best they have. As long as they put in then they can't be faulted irrespective of whether they win or lose.

WyveN
04-11-2004, 01:29 PM

That's the thing Wyver they led 5-3 in the 3rd set breaker and if they win that, it changes the match. Allegro was quite good and that's the thing Roger has to play very well and Yves has to be as solid as he can, if that's the case that is when they will play well, it's just that Yves is usually on the challenger circuit and hasn't played many big matches.

Not very fair for them to keep having reports which said they're the reason the Swiss can't win, though that to a certain extent is true.

The rest of the Swiss team know fully well that they are the reason the Swiss are not winning the DC but I am still certain that they are thrilled to have a player like Federer on the team.
Without Federer they would be playing on Zone 2 in a empty stadium rather then being competetive against a relative tennis powerhouse country in front of a sell out home crowd.

Ivo, Michel etc shouldn't feel guilty that they are not as good as Federer but just try their best, as long as they do that then no more can be asked of them and they have nothing to be ashamed of.

Action Jackson
04-11-2004, 01:40 PM
That's why it was imperative against a team like Escude and Llodra that they took every chance that went their way.

Isy, I don't believe everything that I read and of course it's easy to blame the others. The doubles loss in Australia was because Roger wasn't playing at his best and Rosset was the better player, it can happen that Roger doesn't play as well some times.

It certainly can happen, no doubt. That's what the double is all about, having the understanding and able to cover each other when one isn't playing well. So I always favour the Swiss chances against another contry with strong single but weaker doubles instead of the other way round. I don't think playing double is having one particularly good player. And it's a pity for Yves that Rogi is not likely to be partnering him during tournaments to give him that type of match experiences he needs.
