I'm guessing this is Virtua Tennis 3...?

It's looking great, nonetheless. Though that single screenshot of Federer looks nothing like him. It looks more like Ellen Degeneres.

Hopefully it would move a lot more fluidly than that tripe of a title. I still can't get my head over how bad it was.

Those shots look gorgeous. Having said that, I haven't been interested in video games in years haha. My XBOX is just collecting dust and acting as a DVD player for my bedroom.

The outside of the court are so detailed. That is really the best part.

The ball looks surreal, and Henman and Federer look way too artificial. Hewitt and Roddick look quite real though. Good job :D

Yeah, Roddick looks amazing.

Doesnt look bad. More important are of course good gameplay and realistic animations.

this game is a perfect example of the "uncanny valley" - especially in the closeup shots...

Top Spin 2 on xbox360 looks great, but this could be even better.

Not really IMO. Graphicswise TS 2 is a disappointment if you compare it with TS 1.

Wow, the best screenshot is Roddick's (and I'm not biased). His screenshot looks realistic while those of the other two I've seen (Hewitt and Fed) are too 'fake.'

dayam...if i still played video games id play it for sure. dunno bout buy cuz games are so expensive these days. roddick looks great, some of the other players look halfway to being real which makes them creepy. not in love with description of players under their name but i suppose it helps draw in non-regular tennis fans/players.

Well, I'll be picking this one up, and you better believe, I'll be balancing out that Federer/Nadal head to head. Just set the computer to "easy," select Nadal, then play as Federer, on a grass surface, better yet, on clay to make it all that more demoralizing for that spanish punk. Say "buh-bye" to that clay court record kid.

And as for the descriptions, yeah, those aren't very descriptive. If their goal is to capture the non-fanatical tennis fans, they need to give them more than a one line summary of their game. Maybe like a little bio under their name like: Blake's could read, "Powerful stroker of the ball, and quick mover around the court. Once sported dreads, but now prefers the bald look. Exceptional player, on the small stage, never made it past the quarters of a slam, and has the tendency to choke on the big points. If you want to win at this game, play as Federer." And for Roddick, "Big Server, Big forehand, and sometimes a big ego. After losing his "mojo" Andy has finally reclaimed the form that brought him to the number one ranking in 2003. However, this form isn't good enough to regain the number one ranking. If you want to win at this game, choose Federer." Nadal, "Fast runner, and loopy left spin, is enough to drive even the top ranked Federer crazy. Has a stunning 6-2 record over the Swiss Maestro. As great as he is, however, he has still not reached the number one ranking. If you want to win on clay, play as Nadal, otherwise, choose Federer if you want to win at this game." Hewitt, "Fast Runner, and Fierce fighter from down under. Has lost his edge, since getting married to Bec Cartwright an Australian actress, and having a baby. With no real weapons to hurt you with other than boring you to death by getting every ball back, you should probably should Federer if you want to win this game." Henman, "Former British #1, should say it all. If you're not even the top ranked Brit, chances are you're not going to win much, not even with the computer set at easy. Just play as Federer if you want any chance at winning.

I think these descriptions will give the average joe a more insightful way to pick their players. I just don't know if they could fit this on the screen without cutting into the audience or court.

I think the screenshots look okay. I never played a tennis sports game on the computer or a game console, but I would think that the graphics are only one part to make the game enjoyable and that the most important, but also most difficult part, is to make the gameplay great; that it is possible for the players to move well, execute the types of shots they want in any situation and that all this looks real.

I would like to see a video/trailer with ingame scenes of rallies to see how good such a game can be. Does somebody have a link to one?
Thanks!

Does anyone know any more ATP players that will be in it (besides Nadal, Federer, Roddick, Blake, Henman, Hewitt, Ferrero)? :p

The Arcade version is already out, so I dont have high hope for better animations, something where the Top Spin games excel.

I think it looks pretty good - I may just pick up a copy when it's released.

Thanks fourlove, very interesting to see!
I download the available videos and I didn't expect the game to look as good as it does in these clips.

Check also out Top Spin 2 if you want to see what the other Next Generation console game looks/plays like. Only available for Xbox 360 though.

I should probably finally buy an Xbox360 and get both Top Spin 2 and this new Virtua Tennis.
