How many matches do you watch per year?

on tv or live

i used to watch every match that was on air back in 1992. fortunately there weren't that many at the time and only slams, and fortunately enough once again there was a big time difference to watch USO or AO. so i estimate like at most 6-7 per year.

then since 2002 i kinda watched a lot more matches, waited till late at night to see a match with Safin, watching every crap match that was scheduled before, quite often with German commentators. it was fun at the time. so i guess it was something like at least 30 matches that year.

the worst thing happened in 2004 during RG during which I had absolutely nothing to do and the tournament was abundantely covered by numerous public channels : French, Belgian,Dutch, German. I guess I saw at least 30 matches during RG only and totaled about 50 games that year.

I even sort of was jalous for those who had eurosport or any other tennis broadcasting sport channel.

Right now I think that there's too much of tennis for me on tv hence too much of tv.

i don't even watch tennis like i used to - with full concentration. Right now a scoreboard will do.

I guess 5 matches a year would be probably ideal. Like all finals from Grand Slams and one from Masters Cup.

What are your watching patterns? just intrested

WAY more than 60. I must have watched at least 25 at the US Open alone.

Since I have gotten The Tennis Channel, a heck of a lot more than I ever did before. I would say more than 60.

4 slams + 9 masters + master cup + some other tournaments + TTC reruns ... = 100+

Prior to last week, (cable tv), I'd say around 11-20 on tv. However, now that we don't get coverage of all grand's less. Because I don't care for my country in Davis Cup, I don't really watch that unless it features another country I like. In general, my players are a tad crap, or not popular enough to be on tv. For that, they usually need to play Federer, or an Aussie.

Live though, as much as I can. This year I went to Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, a wheelchair tennis tournament and my first futures event to get my tennis fix. Last year I had two Davis Cup ties and two WCT tournies. I can't get enough really, but it's all within a space of a couple of months, so the other 8-9 months of the year get a little dull in terms of tennis.

This year I got to see maybe 10 from the USO and 2 or 3 outside of that. I am really unlucky when it comes to TV channels and scheduling and other commitments.

Same, if you live over here without SKY, you only get the ocasional Davis Cup Tie, Wimbledon, Queens, Eastbourne, and bits of the AO and FO.

I downloade matches from threads on here quite a bit though.

Maybe ten each GS, plus some. Say 50-60.

Live about 10 matches, 2 Futures, 1 Challenger and league.

I don't think I watched more than 40 this year as I don't have Masters Series.

On TV, 11 to 20 because of really crappy free to air coverage. Live matches as much as I can get around to. Hopefully this year I'll go to at least twice as many matches than I went to last year,
