Great stuff Tursunov and what a comeback, even on his favourite surface.

He almost threw it away leading 5-2 in the 3rd set, but this should qualify as a choke by Waske.

I saw the LIVE SCORES when it was 1-6, 1-5. About an hour later, I came back to check the final scores and, surprisingly, Dima won in 3 games.

Wow!!!! Congratulations to Dima!!!!

Alex, that was pathetic. I am sure he served well in the first and most of the 2nd set, but then probably crumbled.

Yipee! :) For anyone how saw, how was Dima playing. Was it a matter of him getting better and Waske choking or pure Waske choke and nothing else.

Yeah, well done, but what happened? why the result was (at the time) 1:6, 1:5? I think that should not happened! But, congratulations on come back! Did you saw the match?

Waske = king of chokers.

Too funny since he's always trying to act over-confident and has a big mouth.

GWH Y r u saying clay is his fave surface???

I think he is being cheeky. :)

Granted- he did only get to the third round at RG- but I wonder if that gave him a little confidence.

Congrats to Dima for coming back.

My boys need to stop this though...Baghdatis had to make a come back in his match at the China Open as well.... :p

He's saying that he's as sarcastic as ever lately. ;)

IMO, Dima was very lucky with that Waske choke, although i have a feeling that at the start of teh match he himself was chocking quite a bit.

That's true. Many people think that Waske has stronger nerves than the others because of this behaviour, but they are wrong.

Congrats Dima, I am surprised that he cares that much for this tournament since he will obviously only play doubles for Russia.

That doesn't look like a fix, I doubt there were any transactions at the quoted odds.

I couldn't see this match live but now I will certainly go to the next!!!

No one could see it (except for those who was there)-- Romanians refused to do broadcasting as NTV Tennis said.

The ATP biggest joker! He knew the match was not broadcasted, he knew the live score sucks, he knew most bet on Waske at PAW and many at TT, so he thought it'd be dead fun blog entry! :smash: Staring dumb at live score at 6-6 for 15 minutes! :banghead:

Tarpishev! :worship: I hope you did wait for him in Moscow today!

Tursunov,

He is one guy, who I think will become TOP 10 member very soon

I think he's suggesting that Dmitry might be better off resting up and just getting some practice in on the clay in Moscow, since it's unlikely he'll be chosen for singles with Marat, Davy and Youzhny on the team.

However, you never know what might happen. There could be injuries, and if Dmitry shows some good form in their practice sessions it wouldn't come as a complete shock to me if he ended up as a substitute in one of the Sunday singles ties, similar to the France match.

In spite of his occasional mental meltdowns, Dmitry has demonstrated that he has some pretty good sized balls in big matches.

The fact that Youzhny reached the semis in USO doesn't mean he will play singles in DC :p

And Tarpi sent Mitya to Bucharest himself for this tournament ;)
