I am almost certain that Rafa's clay streak will end next year? But who will be the first to do it?

This is totally off-left field, but maybe Igor Andreev, since he was the last player to beat Rafa on clay.

the russians seem to have success against nadal...one from left field...safin since they have never met. of course, we have yet to see uncle toni at the peak of his powers.

Konstantinos Economidis.

With Andreev's current physical state, Naldo's suggestion has a better chance, sadly.

For future reference...Jarrko is actually Jarkko.
Sorry, I'm just incredibly fussy, even if it did take me more than a week to learn his name.

My suggestion has a better chance than Naldo's.

He could be healthy again by next spring.

I think Federer will beat Nadal on clay next year, whether or not he's the first one to do it and thus break the streak.

It almost definitely won't be another Spaniard. And it has to be someone who attacks.

Why no Berdych ?

You need to be an attacking player to beat Nadal on clay, so that's why I'm going with Federer or Safin. Safin and Nadal have actually never played against each other, so that would be an interesting matchup.

Roger Federer was close enough to beat Rafa last time,

roddick if he takes clay seriously for once

Why no Berdych ?

Definitey has a shot against Nadal on clay if he can make it there. Remember that final: 2-6, 6-4, 6-4?

I'd love to see Safin get his shot against Nadal. :D

nalbandian, federer, ferrero, safin

one of these could do that

Am i the only one here who thinks that it's absurd to have Roddick and Blake as poll choices?

I'd like to see Nadal facing Safin or Nalbandian. I think both could have a chance (yeah, considering it's Nadal on clay this also sounds absurd  :ras: )

nalbandian and safin are my picks roger if he volley more.
I got this funny feeling it will be nalbandian if he stop eating so much.

where is the Moya option?

or, more seriously, the Jerome Haehnel option?

Ferrero if he comes back strong next year.

He was getting back to some form before the US open.

Why is Roddick an option? He is useless on clay. If Jim Courier returned to the main tour and played Roddick on clay, I would expect him to win.
I'll go for Richard Gasquet.

I salivate for Nadal Nalbandian.

I read somewhere that they're playing an exhibition match in Thailand on New Year's Eve. Which isn't the same as competition but still, it's one I'd love to see.

Someone completely random and unexpected who goes on to the Next Clay Sensation for the next couple of years until he too is overtaken by a subsequent Clay Sensation who then dominates for the next couple of years until the nex...

You get my point.
