What causes Andy to be so off balance on return?

Just watched the opening game of the third with Federer serving. Each point, Federer can hit a serve anywhere in the box, and even when Andy hits it cleanly back, he's still unable to even get to the center of the court, and Roger is able to hit a clean winner; over and over again. Is this slow reaction speed or poor returning in general? I'm curious.

Really? Because I'm pretty sure he's not winning hardly any points on Fed's serve. :p

so much for Roddick having improved under Connors..... :o
he is still the same player who used to be(and who is still) Federer's bitch :o
predictable final...

for some(Gasquet,Murray,Berdych),we at least still have hope as they are still very young.....but for the others like Hewitt or Roddick,it's a lost cause :o

He has improved since last year ... Yeah, he still lost to Federer, but exactly how long has he been with Connors? It's a good result for Andy, but he needs to know how to step it up and quit hitting the ball right back to Federer, take the ball early and hit a winner with some speed on it.

I'm bias b/c I LOVE Andy Roddick and I believe in him. I just want him to always believe in himself

Belief is not enough. Andys game is simply inferior to Fed's

And Sharapova's game is simply inferior to JHH's, but that didn't matter last night. I also didn't say it would just take belief, but obviously that was something that helped Andy with the result in the second set.

He sure is lucky he didn't have to face quality opponents like Ljubicic, Stephanek, and Tommy Robredo. He sure squeaked through that draw.

At least he can beat the people who beat the people that are in the top 10. ;) There not much he can do when everyone loses before they can face him.
