I did already prove this to be a bullet-proof system at the Wimbledon Final ;) when there was still doubters... :P

Justine AO - RUP
Roger AO - WON

Justine FO - WON
Roger FO - RUP

Justine W - RUP
Roger W - WON

Justine USO - RUP
Roger USO - WON

This is engraved in stone.

There's a seer living in a cave outside my home city. He said Federer won. I asked him about the score and the number of unfoced errors, unfortunately he refused to answer

Roddick will win because...

Mauresmo used to own Sharapova - Sharapova won.
Hewitt used to own Roddick - Roddick won.

Henin Hardene used to own Sharapova - Sharapova won.
Federer used to own Roddick - Roddick will win.

Doesn't get any more scientific than that.

I think Roger will prevail in a quite tough match.
It's true that Roddick has made a great comeback winning Cincinnati and reaching the final in the US Open thanks to Connors. He's more patient from the baseline, uses his sliced back hand more and coming to the net more. Plus, he's on fire and very motivated. However, Roger has a real gift in reading Roddick's serve. Plus, if Roger serves well, I don't see how Roddick can win. In addition, from the baseline, Roger is better with a better forehand and backhand too. Roger will win!

On another note, I would love to see Roddick say 'too big' in Federers face, only to get blasted off the court  But he probably wouldn't have the balls to say that anyway.

Good point.

Roger is trying to make history and trying to stay year end #1. Roddick gets plenty of endorsements and attention even if he doesn't win anything, so I am not feeling sorry for him if he loses.

The real real reason is because his opponent is Roddick.

It will be sad if Roddick loses. :bigcry: He's the last hope to defeat Federer and well he's played better it will be old Federer vs. new and improved Roddick.

:worship: Go Roddick!! :worship:

James Blake has a much bigger game over Roddick except for the serve and look what happened to him. Down in four. Blake is much faster, his groundstrokes are more of a weapon on both sides. I would give another edge to Roddick in the mental department. But really, if you saw Fed during the blake match, you'd realize just how much Fed's worst enemy will be himself. At times James would hit a spectacular shot only to have Roger hit one that was twice as better. If one thing let him down that quarter, it was his mental toughness. Roddick has no chance of outplaying Rog on the ground game. His only ohpe is to hold his serve to dear life and hope Roger has another mental lapse in the tie break.

^ Agree with you, except that Federer's serve hasn't been that great. He got broken twice by Davydenko yesterday (though he did break back) and we might see that again today.

ALMOST true, but not quiteSurely there's some law of MTF (I'm too lazy to go look) that anything that doesn't support your theory can be safely ignored as it is a fluke. For example the thread about Hewitt's losses to eventual champions: clearly Fed's winning AO and W this year were flukes.

The real reason is because he is a better player

Valid point.

What if Roddick averages over 70% first serves and 6 more aces a set. He could reach tie breaks and with a few lucky swings win one or two points on the Federer serve. Wins 3 sets and match.

Guess what the better player has lost despite mostly dominating match when points not on Roddick serve.

That is no bad thing. Since the start of this calendar year Davydenko has the best return stats on tour.
